SIA Ideal Services (under license from Avis) are scammers.
charged us for out of hours fee despite being in the office and advertising that they close 1 hour after we got there.
tried to bill us 500 for scratching the rear centre console
billed us 240 for a scratch underneath the car on our second rental.
Why Avis let them keep their license i have no idea.

For all you others that have been ripped off, just tell your credit card company. I got my money back both times. Scammers dont always win.

Got an $800 fee added to my rental without any receipt to go along with it. Damage was noted beforehand with pictures (both mine and the rental agent). Rest assured they will con you if given the opportunity. Their rental prices are the lowest to lure you in. You ll pay for it on the way out.

Just rented a car from them last week, paid deposit 700 and when we check the car before taking it they noticed that it's a damage on both rims which I have it on my phone and in the email from them as proof.. when we returned the car there was none to check the car even if I was ask for one .. they were saying that the guys finish earlier.. today I've got an email from some Robert saying that they found a new damage on the car for which Must pay 550 euro.. the only problem it's that the damage it's the same as when i took it . Same wheel, some place.. now i have the vehicle condition paper from when i took the car where shows the damage and the leter asking for payment for the same damage..

Ignoring your booking and tricking you into renting a more expensive car!!

Pros:
The guy we returned the car to was very friendly and professional. He could get a better job for sure!

Cons:
We arrived at RIX tired. Got our bags and went out to Avis/Budget car rental just before the exit of the building.

I showed my booking number, the rental agent totally ignore that and started calculating and making up numbers for a new car.

In heinsite I should have stand my ground and asked what he is trying to do. I had my booking for 116EUR instead of the 500EUR we ended up with.
But it is easier said than done when you are tired and haven't eaten..

Like everyone else is saying in the reviews they are pure conartist, starting with false friendly questions and tricks you in to a very bad deal. A very good one for them, provision..

!!Don't rent a car in the baltics!!

Train and buses work very well in Latvia.
You can even buy your ticket online today!

An agency to avoid. Nobody wants to receive your car during the return and you receive well over a week after additional costs for damage in their parking or in their garage. If you dispute, they do not recognize anything and refer you to the general rental contract. So go your way to not have these bad surprises.

If i could give 0 stars I would. Worst costumer experience ever, they will rob you! Don't ever go there. Just awful.

I can not recommend them. They always find some minor damage after the rental period and the searcher gets a one-off fee (two last time I received 245 euros in fee !!). Stay away from these bad guys!

Very slow service. Watch out for hidden fees! The staff was not helpful at all when I wanted to add extra days to my rental.

The car rental is located inside on the ground floor, at the exit of arrivals. Very kind colleagues both at the reception and at the car return. The car itself is new, good !!! I was very pleased !!!

Couldn't agree more with the reviews below. A fraudulent business with a poor customer service ripping of well know trusted Avis brand. I booked a car via Avis UK website; I arrived late at night in Riga airport a night before Christmas with a sick child and was presented a bill with additional late arrival fees on top of my bill. These fees did not appear anywhere in the booking process on the website apart from a small print in the last page in one of three pdfs hidden in a url on the bottom of the booking confirmation email. The agent got very embarrassed when we explained that this kind of practice is illegal. Seems this is something that the management had enforced on them.

Thankfully Avis UK have reviewed this and issued the refund...but I will never hire a car from Avis LV, which actually is not Avis but some shady SIA Ideal Services.

The most heartbreaking thing about all of this is that Riga visitors a get a very poor and wrong first impression about our beautiful country thanks to this kind of people and businesses. A few years ago Riga airport kicked out several dodgy taxi firms out of the airport as they were ripping off tourists using dodgy meters. Why not do the same with this kind of shady businesses?

I have booked a Car for 3 day via Check24 for 57,79 Euro
Now I have received an invoice from AVIS for additional 50,96 Euro
without any given reasons.

STAY AWAY !!!

To expensive place to rent car. Better deal and price you can fine local newspapers or internet. Don't waste your money at Avis.

Rented a car 26 October 2017 from Budget-Avis (The call them self: Avis - SIA IDEAL SERVICES) Riga International Airport. Was advised there was a 100 euro deposit on the Insurance, and the Insurance was 150. Paid on my Credit card. Returned More

Very pleasant service, excellent location, fair price

Got there early was allowed to take the car an hour before agreed start time without charge*. The car had only done 2500km, and was clean inside and out - obviously the pressure was on me to keep it in that condition. The people on site were helpful and spoke excellent English.

I'm happy to say that my rental from then on was trouble free until drop off in Palanga Lithuania where there was some irritation with the car showing 4/5 full on fuel and me having to go to the petrol station, fill it to over flowing to show that it was still 4/5 full and avoid a charge.

Recently, only this company and use. Always without fail.

I could almost say the AVIS here is like a scammer. I got a penalty of over 450Euro for drive the car to Finland.
And, the guy became very hostile after I decline his offer to upgrade the car.

After 2 Mouths I still have NOT received my deposit back. And nobody reply my email. But I received a traffic fine: 75euro. 30 euro is for AVIS.

Stay away from these crooks! They don't show up to check the car when you return it, and charge your credit card a few hundred bucks later for made up damage! When you contact customer service, they just tell you you agreed to the terms when you signed the contract! This is obviously a scam and Budget simply doesn't mind how their employees are screwing customers! Company has no moral standards or just doesn't care enough to uncover this. Stay away!

fraudulent and shady local firm under well known and trusted brand we all love. deposit is 7 times bigger then in any other european Avis, made unauthorized copy of my private data (passport, license), doesn t have access to Avis global client system - very suspicious. avoid if you can, experience is very disappointing.
update:
after all, they charged me with false late return . shockingly awful service for beloved brand representative!

Due to the negative reviews I was quenched branch, but then booked through a German agent.

There arrived at the counter nothing was spotted me, but explained the deposit, warned about lightning and hand over the key.

From the counter to the parking lot it is quite far, but with luggage car feasible. It can be left at the parking lot.

The Skoda Octavia was in good condition and the damage was recorded together.
The car drove us well through the holiday.

Also when returning the car was checked together and I received a return document, which states that I have the car filled up and returned without damage.

All in all, recommended.

Impossible to reach. Nobody ever answers the phone.

The office rents all kind or premium sedan type cars, like Audi, Volkswagen, Opel and Toyota. Well, choose the last one and you have no problems, but also the best comfort.
