Great service and great brunch. Go for the bbq eggs Benedict. Incredible!
Great service and great brunch. Go for the bbq eggs Benedict. Incredible!
Whilst the food was delicious the service was poor. Our main course was served before the starter, we were not asked if we wanted another drink or a sweet before the bill was bought to the table ! The waitress did apologise about the food being served incorrectly but when we showed our displeasure she became very cold towards us. The management however did authorise the starter being taken off the bill but did not offer their own apology. The men's restrooms were very shoddy and dirty, I chose not to use the ladies.
Bad customer service took more than a hour to get food after it was ordered and when the food did come it was cold. Glasses and silverware were dirty. Workers seem to care more about talking to each other than to send food out while it's hot
Excellent brunch- we had the bananas foster French toast and the blackened salmon benedict, and both were delicious. They were crowded on Saturday morning, but they seated us quickly and the food came out fast.
We had Saturday brunch, the food was excellent, but the service was not good. I had the blackened salmon benidict, and my husband ordered red fish and grits. They were out of grits, which turned out great. He got the chef's special, duck biscuits and gravy. The food was delicious, but our waitress was not friendly at all. Every time we thanked her, she said uh huh or no problem. I think that is so rude! Too.bad, I'd love to go back, but we will not be treated like we are inconveniencing a server.
Awesome martini bar. There were a variety of martini cocktails. The service was quick, and friendly. Definitely returning when I visit Memphis again.
We sat at the bar and service was very slow. Bartender was serving as well as tending bar. She was overwhelmed. Food was good.
The food and drinks are amazing!! I loved the atmosphere and the people!
I REALLY Dig the name! I ONLY go for brunch on the weekends. Love the atmosphere, food is Delish! Service Excellent! They have the cutest cocktail "bathwater" it has a tiny Peabody I've pretty much had the Entire menu. My Favs are the fish & grits with homefries and the chicken & waffles. Mimosas and Bloody Marys 3 bucks. In the spring it's really awesome! Outside seating. Must Try!
Great drinks, and food. Very trendy and loud. Feels like New York
To be honest the food was good.
I had two beers and both glasses were chipped. The first time I get it...it happens. The second time I was angry. Twice I got up from my meal to go to the bar and complain. The second time the bartender (Manager?) sarcastically said "do you want to check this glass". My response was no that's your job to make sure customers don't cut themselves on the glasses you serve. I don't think dogfish brewing company wants customers remembering the chipped glass. Finally, I would think that a restaurant would at least pay for one of my drinks to "try to make up for their mistake".
I took a potential sponsor of my Youth Flag Football league here and I was appalled at the cleanliness of the establishments silverware and the food was not fresh at all and also my sponsor had food poisoning symptoms afterwards.
Place had great music, great food, and a friendly team. Would definitely recommend. Especially the mimosa bong.
The food was pretty good but was not certainly not worth the poor service. The most annoying part was that I made a reservation and the person who answered said they had it written down. When I arrived they said there was not any record of my reservation but the hostess made it seem like she was going to help me out; however, she just wrote my name down on the list and walked away from the podium. And the whole time she had an attitude like she hated her job and that I was just another problem she had to deal with. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes, which was not a big deal but the service did not get any better. This place does have some pretty good deals on brunch drinks, but if you plan on drinking more than one you might want to order them at the same time because when we ordered our drinks and food at the same time our drinks came out when we were midway done with our food.
Service was good. The food was really greasy, I felt a bit sick afterwards. The person I was with had the crab cakes which they said were also oily.
Worst service I've ever had. The waitress seemed annoyed to have a table. My food was cold by the time it got to us. We sat for 10 minutes with empty glasses. It took forever to get simple things we asked for like salt and pepper, but maybe she didn't hear me because the few times she came to the table she turned right around and walked away immediately. We had to call out after her to ask for refills and salt and pepper. A nearby table reached out to us and asked where our server was because they hadn't been approached yet, and they had been there for a very long time. Turns out we had the same waitress. I was very excited to try this restaurant because I had heard very good things, but the food was sub par, and like I said, the service was the worst I've ever experienced.
Kia our waitress was awesome. Not a long wait time and food EXCELLENT!
Amazing food! Was on a small wait because we went during brunch, but the hostess was super nice. Great service, we were in and out in an hour. You should definitely go for brunch!!
Must make reservations for Sunday brunch, but well worth it!
The manager Chris is very rude and unprofessional. My card was charged twice. One for 63.00 and one for 43.00 and my server was Lee. He made smart and disrespectful comments regarding it and I had to argue him down about charging my card twice. NEVER EAT HERE!!!!
Good food and service. Huge martini menu and the best mac and cheese Ive ever had!
2nd time going and my experience was awful.Walked in Noone spoke had to go to the bar and asked DO WE SIT OURSELVES. The place didn't have any heat ,so it was extremely COLD. Ordered me an Georgia Peach Martini and discovered lipstick on my glass, and I don't even wear lipstick. I ordered the brisket and my husband ordered the steak sandwich which was cold, his silverware was filthy had dried up food particles on it. Never would I go back again.
Do yourself a favor and get the boogie woogie brisket. Also we accidentally came in on Ladies Night (idk if it's always Thursday, but that's when we were there) so martinis were only $5.
We chose this restaurant because we wanted something other than the standard rib and fries choices in the area. The food and service was lame. Facilities were unclean. I don't think we could have made a poorer choice.
Bartender wasn t very friendly, he didn t seem like he wanted me at the bar. The martini I had was unbelievably sweet, so I switched to beer. I saw him just dip it in a sink full of soapy water and proceed to just pour beer directly into it. I had a few sips of beer that tasted like bleach, paid, and left.
!!!Great Staff!!!Good Food!!!Ambiance was filled with good music!!!Highly Recommended!!!
So this is the best meal I've had in Memphis so far. I came in for the mac and cheese with slow-cooked brisket on top and Amy talked me into the red fish with crawfish risotto instead. What an excellent dish. I want more! I did get a taste of the mac and cheese so that means probably tomorrow night I will be coming back and I will have that dish. Place was excellent and I wish they were Jam got the door because of it.
Had excellent service. Came from the Pier where we had cancelled our entrees and appetizers and ended up here. Excellent salmon, rare with a pistacio sauce and wilted spinach. Argentine Filet was magnificent, soft, buttery with some amazing spices and mashed potatoes. Service was excellent, top notch, not too attentive but just enough. Good beer, wine and liquor selection.
Service was excellent and brunch was good for my first visit to Memphis. Right across from the Peabody Hotel.
First time visiting for lunch/dinner !! It's just as good as the brunch !!
I have visited Automatic Slim on several occasions and had a pretty good experience. On my most recent visit we experienced pretty lackluster and rude service from Lisa. She was very dry and unwelcoming. She just came up and asked for the order, she didnt introduce herself or appear she wanted to be our server. After she brought the drink order we had to ask her for her name, she stated her and and walked off. After the meal we spoke with the manager and tried to express our Concern he stated "oh she is just shy and is like that with all her customers ". From reading the other reviews she was sweet to others. So I'm not buying the whole "she is shy". She gave poor customer service and was unwelcoming. I will not spend money in a
Restaurant were I receive poor customer service!
Monday night Martinis were awesome! My only issue was that the waitress had a nasty cough and she might should've stayed home.
2nd time here and Its always a good time. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. Had the Grand Marnier waffle and it was good!
The food was great as usual. We had a party of 22. Service was pretty good. The kitchen got things a little mixed but overall, we had a good experience.
Funky decor and a hip vibe adds a great atmosphere to incredible food. Everything we ordered was delicious! We started off with the deviled sausage app. Wonderful! Our entrees were just as delicious. Check it out for a wonderful and relaxing dinner option in downtown Memphis.
Atmosphere is classier than the name or exterior would leave you to believe. Great cocktail selection, good food and service. Enjoyed the redfish and crawfish risotto.
The waitress was very nice but I had got a coke that taste watered downed and she brung me a sprite and was also watered down and the food was really good and Service was very slow
They have 3 dollar mimosa's decent service and food prices
Sit at the bar for Sunday brunch. You won't be sorry. In fact you'll be delighted.
We had brunch. The food and the service were awesome.
$5 Martini's and $3 Stellas on Thursday nights. Will definitely be going back!
Food was fantastic! Great downtown experience. Fun place to go.
They have the best martinis in town. I highly recommend this place! Great location across from the peabody and close to Beale St.
This is the absolute best place to have brunch in the city of Memphis. The staff is friendly, the menu has tons of great options, the food is fabulous and the mimosas are superb.
One of my favorite places to go when I visit Memphis! (Which is pretty often) I love their drink specials $3 Mimosas And the bartender, Emma, is always the best. 10/10 do recommend!
We wanted to sit outside (3 people), but the available table outside only had 2 chairs, they didn't allow us to grab one of the chairs from inside, so we just left... they couldn't care less.
Really enjoyed the food here , very accommodating. They have $5 mimosas on Sunday as well !
Won't be going back. The food was good, but the place itself was filthy!..
My review was based from the service! Beautiful establishment and very busy! Our waiter forgot to bring us everything we asked for. We actually felt like we were forgotten. Somehow our food came out seperately in pieces of the meal ordered. My sister never got her food. This was my first visit I will give them another try because my automatic omelet was delicious! Hope we have better service next time!
Empty tables and was told 30 minute wait
Hostess wasnt rude but didnt care about anything then was told it would be longer then 30 minutes cause the kitchen was backed up. Once we got to the table it took a while for our waitress to come to the table and then we find out they are out of sausage. This restaurant is running the manager, which by the was was not present ever during our visit. Had the crab benny one egg was poached hard and was ice cold in the center. Will not be back.
Great food and fantastic atmosphere. Staff couldn't have been any nicer! Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Will definitely visit this place again when I am back in Memphis!
Went Saturday morning for brunch to give this place a second chance. First time I went at 3pm on a weekday, bad idea. To my delight, this time it was excellent!!! Yay! We shared the Chicken & Waffles and the Automatic Omelette and both were More
This is a nice little placed tucked away on 2nd Street. The food was very tasty, and the service was even better (shout out to my server David). The atmosphere is trendy/eclectic, but laid back. It's a awesome place to get a great meal and catch up with a friend. (P.S., they do have a full bar.)
It's an ok place. The food wasn't as good as it looks on pictures.
Great atmosphere, great food, very unique in a lot of ways and fun, but way too cramped and wait is long so be prepared to get comfy and patient. Could use more food options.
Stopped in here for a few drinks early on new years eve. It was a fun little bar with decent beer and whiskey selection. The bar staff were cool and fun to talk to. I'd go back.
We had a really yummy meal. The fried pickles were great and different, sweet with a bit of a kick. We both had the brisket with Mac and cheese. Both were very good but I prefer a smokier flavor with brisket however it was tender. Mia, our server, was sweet and attentive. We'll be back.
The service is outstanding. The atmosphere
Is delightful.......
Came out during happy hour and the brunch must be better than dinner. Food was just above average but in this town that just doesn't cut it. Had the brisket over macaroni but had a funky after taste. Meat was cooked well, but the overall flavor just didn't have the kick needed in Memphis.
Clean for a city bar with good service. Nice store front and great location. Can't say it was bad... Just okay overall.
The food was good but the service was terrible the waitress we had was very rude
What a way to start our Sunday! Awesome brunch!! I had the automatic omlette and my guy had the cinnamon waffles with chicken and of course cranberry mimosas! Um um good!! Nice atmosphere great customer service! We will b back!
Definitely my favorite place to go each and every time I visit downtown. Their tomato bisque is fabulous. The macaroni and cheese would make any adult swoon and really appreciate a new and grown up spin the favorites of yesteryear! Any main dish you get is wonderful! You can not go wrong with anything you choose. They have great appetizers, main dishes and desserts for everyone in the family, even if you are vegetarian or vegan. You can always depend on a favorite every time, or if you re one to be adventurous and shake things up a bit, the restaurant also has new dishes on the menu as well that are just as fabulous as the last! A girl s lazy Sunday brunch is one of favorite occasions to have at the restaurant with bottomless mimosas. The brunch menu CANNOT be topped if you re looking for a great place to eat on the weekend in the morning. The staff is always very warm, patient and inviting. They are great with menu descriptions should you have any questions. The environment is definitely fun. The lightning and decor is fabulous.
Waited forever to get a drink and food and food was only ok for the price. Also charges additional amount for the use of a card.
Service was so so
Ordered Crab Cakes- before ordering I asked if there was Red Bell Pepper or Green as I can't eat them. Was assured after the waiter asked the cook that no they didn't have any in the Crab Cakes. They were loaded also had a lot of filer in them.
I asked for Lemon for my Iced Tea was informed they don't have any ever. In a bar you don't have lemon??? I asked for tarter sauce after picking out the peppers from The Crab Cakes- needed to kill the taste. They don't have that either.
Also tried to order a Hendricks gin & tonic- you guessed it no Hendricks.
Music was soooo loud you couldn't hear the waiter or anyone at the table.
At the end 6 of us with seperate checks in their own holders - they messed up all the checks the missed charged everyone's credit cards putting others dinner checks on our cards. The insult to it all they charged a credit card fee. Never again!
Definitely milk carton eggs. Very plain food and poor service.
Place: narrow with nice decor and a warm environment.
Staff: really friendly, helpful, and polite.
Food: a bit bland. Should consider adding a side of sauce to some dishes. I had the ribeye which didn't need sauce of any kind, but I was disappointed that the steak at $22 was mostly fat. It was extremely over priced for the quality of cut. However, the flavor was great.
Great service cool atmosphere and even with Covid the wait wasn't out of this world and the food was great
