The a/c must have been broken. It was hot inside. My eggs were burnt my biscuit was still doughy and gravy was cold. My husband's eggs were ordered scrambled and were still runny and not fully cooked. Will never eat here again.

Probably the worst first impression that could ever be made. I don t even want to leave one star. First thing is that the seats are nasty, dirty, bottoms falling out. Took forever for our food... there was Nobody but 3 tables in there... Next the waitress completely screwed up my order, before I could say anything she took the plate back to the kitchen and took even longer. My date was already done with her very blah and disappointing dish. $16 for 2 slices of brisket and Mac and cheese. The menu describes it as truffle and bacon Mac and cheese NO. My food when it finally arrived was the most disappointing salmon ever. They didn t even salt and pepper it. Just hoped that stuff they call etouffee seasoning gave some resemblance of flavor. No bread or rolls were served. For a place that changes $20 a plate, this is the biggest waste of money. Then to top it off, our waitress never asked how our food was after we got it. Just disappears after bringing it. Had to wait until after her smoke break to get our check. It will take some serious house comps to make this up.

Fun, tasty cocktails and really good food led by outstanding and personable service. We thought the bartender, Rick Jones, must have been the proprietor because he treats you like you re his personal guest. Lisa was also sweet. We loved the great blues music playing in the background, too! We ll definitely go back when we return to Memphis and hope to see Rick again!

Dominique, our waitress, was so fun. We had a great time on Martini Monday night and enjoyed the live music. Highly recommend getting the Bubble Bath martini because it is oh so cute and comes with a rubber duck.

We should have passed on this. A party of 4, we checked in and gave our phone number. We watched another party of 4 come in afterwards. They then went in before us. The lady at the front said she couldn't find us. We were standing in front and our phone never rang.
We ordered the food and a tower. The tower was much weaker than I would have expected. My biscuit gravy tasted like cheese which was odd. Portions were a bit small. Chicken and waffles weren't that great. A crab cake eggs benedict was ordered but no muffin. Odd look at any recipe and the muffin is a key component.

Prices were ok, service needed some improvement.

Not a complete fail but not a place I will return to.

The two stars is only because the food is absolutely delicious but the service is THE WORST. We waited 30 minutes to be seated at a table that had been empty for the last 25 minutes . The host completely disappeared so we couldn't even get an update. This is not the first time this has happened and this place routinely lacks in the service department .

Arrived 10 minutes before reservation, lots of empty tables, we were seated at the far back next to kitchen. We were a party of 2 but we were seated at a 4 top. Tyler was our waiter, must have been new to the service industry. He tried but this isn't for him. 5:20 pm on a Saturday afternoon and they are out of Michelob Ultra.
How in the hell can that be? Last time I was in there they were out of Jack Daniels! Gotta be poor management. The only redeeming quality here was the food. It was fantastic. Would have been better if we didn't run out of something to drink. After another employee delivered our entrees I had to track Tyler down to order a second round. Then I had to track him down again to find out why after we have finished our meal we still have not gotten our drinks. Tyler blamed the bartender. Me, I blame poor management. With all the other restaurants available I don't think we will be back.

The food was great. I had a red velvet waffle with bacon. The design of the restaurant was very nice. The atmosphere was very laid back. I went for my birthday with friends and cousins. I'm definitely going back again.

EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE
I had to ask the server to bring cutlery, glass of water, and menu for third person who arrived after my date and me.

FOOD
Spinach Dip - average, crispy hand-cut potato chips are an unconventional option for this dip.
Slim's Crab Cakes - good.
Etouffee Salmon - good.
Hibiscus Blossom - good.
Jameson on the rocks - $8 for the liquor, $2 for the rocks. I felt as if I was being nickel-and-dimed.

We had the absolute best meal and service we've had on our vacation. Bailey, our server, was helpful navigating us through the menu, tailoring our selections. $4 martinis were a great start along with the spinach dip. The brisket and Mac&cheese were awesome and my husband's steak sandwich was the best he's ever had. They tailor the adult menu for the kids too, no frozen chicken fingers! We ordered the layered peanut butter passion for dessert but they were out. ..Dre, the chef, whipped it up anyway when he heard the kids were disappointed. It was so worth the wait!
We stayed at the Peabody and had walked down to Beale St in hopes of finding some local music/food but were disappointed with the options. Slims was across from the hotel, quiet, clean and somewhat trendy. By far our best experience in Memphis.
We had read some negatives in the reviews but our experience was nothing but 5 stars, give it a try! Ask for Bailey and give Dre a shout out in the back!

Food and drinks are good, but service is TERRIBLE!! The manager lady behind the bar especially couldn't care less. It's Memphis... SOOOOO much good food in town, so please, DON'T GO HERE. There are many many more options around here, and options with great food and great service. This is not that place.

Great experience and fantastic service! Not a huge barbecue fan, but the barbecue sauce in the shrimp and grits tasted great! It was also Ladies night when I went, so all martini s were $5 (typically $10). I visited on a Thursday night, but I m not sure how often this normally happens.

Unfortunately this establishment put a big damper ...

Unfortunately this establishment put a big damper on a much anticipated first visit to Memphis. It has a great urban vibe, eclectic menu and a lots of specialty drinks and draft beer. After ordering and served delicious lobster hush puppies in a matter of minutes it was time to order adult beverages.

At 54 it was fun to be carded even though it had nothing to with being mistaken for a 20 year old, it was policy. No problem I happily obliged. Then BAM! Everything "went South" and never recovered.
Because I hail from the state of Illinois where safe drivers (aka no violations or accidents) are able to renew online without having to spend hours at the DMV and sent a new card in the mail with very official holographically enhanced sticker on the back stating CERTIFICATE OF EXTENSION "License expires four years from expiration date on face of license" By Jesse White, Secretary of State. In my case the 4 years expiration date is September 2015. Could not be more clear.

Well not according to "Automatic Slims" management.

Even though I fly for business about 20 times a year to various US airports TSA has never denied my passage, I've used the same ID during bank and real estate transactions without a hitch. But now in this happy moment with my family after a 7 hour drive and touching visit to the Civil Rights Museum I was told repeatedly by the manager of this establishment my license was EXPIRED. Period. She had never seen this type of extension and therefore it was not legal to serve me a beer. She said the state is very strict about this and as a law abiding citizen I can appreciate her following procedure. But had a state official or cop showed up I am very certain this would have been a non issue. I debated her judgement with a calm and explanatory tone but when she stared back with crossed arms and a cold immovable stance, I became insulted. I paid for the appetizer and abruptly left.

Amazes that this happened at all. I was embarrassed that it got under my skin - my family even commented they'd never seen this reaction from me.

PS
About an hour later my adult son took it upon himself to research this state of Illinois practice online and email the info to the company website. I had no idea he was up to this, but I think the discomfort of the situation required attention so he also went back to Slims to explain it so they did not make the mistake to other unsuspecting Illinois customers. Management had already read the email and apologized to my son. While that was nice of them, the damage is done.

Frank Sinatra playing over their speakers on the street lured us to this place. We got Saturday brunch consisting of a pineapple and cranberry mimosa, Bananas Foster French Toast, Oreo Waffle and it was all well above average and the prices were fair.

The food was decent. The service was terrible! The hostess didn t know how to seat and was very slow. The waitress kept forgetting our order and forgetting when we request seconds of something. I had to tell her to give me my mimosa like 3 times. And my boyfriend says the service wasn t worth the money we have for the tip. Won t be returning

The worst place I have ever been. Got here at 10:30 and I was told that it would be 45 minutes. Now the time is 12:36 still have not been seated. Out of the blue they told us they are shutting down the kitchen and we can not be seated. Are you serious!!!!! Then they had the nerves to get an attitude , because they suck!!!!! The manager was worser than the host.... (Joyce ) beyond disappointed

Absolute worst restaurant experience of my life. Took them 15 minutes to greet us and take our drink order and 20 minutes to bring our drinks. To top it off, the food was absolutely horrible. Where on earth do you serve scrambled eggs on an eggs Benedict?
