Not exactly disliked.more disappointed. It's just a Looong walk up and down a glorified park. Spirituality is the usp. If that's your thing, go for it. If you are a casual visitor.. Best stay away.

The place has its own ambience. You can enjoy the peaceful evening with a cup of coffee or snacks , watching the other visitors, or with your friends over some snacks . The well thought and designed architecture of the place makes you feel a part of it, which doesn't seem to bore the repeated visitors even .

The one place you must go if you're visiting pondicherry as a tourist. Be prepared for a long walk to the view point of Matri Mandir from the visitor's centre. Buses apply for the return journey. Carry an umbrella if you're visiting during summer.

A tourist place to visit in Pondicherry. The nature and scene is great. A must visit.

I walked almost 2kms to reach this place from parking/information centre but it was place to walk.You just have to collect a pass from information centre and it is absolutely free.You can't go inside the matrimandir but you can click pictures from outside.

Place for those you like silence and serenity. Very calm and quite.

One cannot describe this place in words. If you still want to know, it's a place where people from all over the globe are living without any religious boundaries with the help of sustainable living.

It's a quiet place and if yu want to get into matrimandir then yu have to book passes before 2 days which is free totally it's a good place we can take some pics with nature.

You can't go inside the globe, which is the main attraction.. I walked 5 miles to find this out.. Pre book it, to access it..

One of the best places to visit in Pondicherry. Visit Matrimandir if you can get hold of a pass. Extremely calming ambience of the place. The cafes and shopping are also a must try!

A long walk from the parking area but its worth it. An auto would take around 400 bucks to take you from White town to Auroville. The walk to the Matrimandir thats the golden globe is a pleasant one with lot of beautiful flowers, huts, trees and so on. But keep in mind to online book the ticket for entering into the matrimandir before hand or your visit would be useless. You can watch the matrimandir from outside and click photos around it for free. After visiting it a stop at the Dreamer's cafe is must to cool down the heat.

As anyone should walk for 2km to reach the center , avoid luggages!!

Very popular tourist attraction in Pondicherry which Auroville will not accept. Very informative centre with video info session along with clear depiction of the entire Auroville.

They have a big parking space and water at certain points to help the visitors.

Such a nice place to visit in Pondicherry. But they r behaving with Indians was some wat different, Once u visit u can feel tis. Unneccesarily they r making us to walk for one km to see the #MantriMandir building from away almost more than 200m away from the building and they r not providing pass to enter into the same. If u want u have to book 2 days before.

The matri mandir is the highlight of this place apart from which there is nothing much exciting here.
