One of the best resorts in Hawaii. The ambience of the lobby is very lively. Staff is also helpfull. The Disney character breakfast is simply amazing for kids. The rooms r also very good. Specially if u have a beach facing room.

The rooms are a bit pricy but it's Disney so it's expected. You will not get bored of this resort though since they offer so many different services and activities everyday. And since it is Disney, it's definitely enjoyable for the kids and there's a free daycare at Aunty's beach house so you can go enjoy things your kids might not like. Overall, it's a great experience and you should go at least once to try it out.
We went in for a day trip to this resort because we had heard so many good things. This is a true resort in Hawaii where as I felt alot of the Waikiki Resorts seemed more like Hotels.
The buffet was outstanding! it was a bit pricey but for the quality of buffet I think it was really worth it. None of us were disappointed at all.
I would definitely stay at this resort when we have children as there was lots to do for them, however it was really far from anything, so staying here would mean having to have a rental car to do any sort of sight seeing shopping or eating off property.
Amazing hotel resort for an individual, couple's, and families. Very clean and attention to detail can be seen everywhere. Perfect rooms. Disney does a good job of being mostly subtle with their branding throughout the hotel, you know you're at a Disney hotel but it's not too in your face to be annoying. Very accommodating and friendly staff.
Staff is super nice. Our room was a two bedroom suit it has everything you need to live there. Just bring your own food. Kids did so many activities. Just wish they had a little more for teens
Overall, this is an excellent resort. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon as a part of a multi-island Hawaii vacation. We chose Aulani because my family has a DVC membership. The staff ("cast members") are excellent. The resort isn't overly "Disney". The pools and beach are lovely. It's a very comfortable place to stay. It's a Disney resprt, and it is consistent with Disney's excellent brand.
So why 4 stars? First, DVC members need to note that the room on the website is not the actual Deluxe Studio, but the hotel room. The Deluxe Studio only had a queen bed not a king. Also, read the fine print -- your "ocean view" includes "at least a partial ocean view"... Which is what happened to us. I was pretty disappointed by that. I was also disappointed by the size of the sixDel studio, as I would have booked a 1-bedroom (we had the points for it), but thought it would be excessive and a studio with a king would be comfortable enough. Second, the internet is atrocious. It was unbelievably slow. I had to take care of some paperwork for starting my IM residency, and so I was forced to go give a coffee shop because Disney's internet couldn't load my email. My husband and I needed to remotely close on our new house, and there wasn't a business center for him to take care of printing and scanning. Yes, the front desk helped us accomplish those tasks, but it was inconvenient... What high-end resort doesn't have at least a small business center?
So all in all, this is a lovely place to vacation if you can fall off the grid for the entire length of your time here. If you need to touch base on anything back home, expect to get cozy at a coffee shop.
I never thought a hotel room could really be worth $500+ but I was wrong when I checked into Aulani. It was so beautiful and the service was so amazing. The luau and private beach felt like an authentic, exclusive experience. I cannot wait to return and explore more of this breathtaking resort.
Rooms are a bit old. Bathroom is very basic, the toilet makes terrible noise when you flush. Beach is nice. The WIFI in this hotel is super slow. Too many users. Slower than the 4G.
Spend 7 days at Disney Aulani Resort, first time ever in hawaii, to be honest i was expecting a lot more for their room prices and decoration furniture looked old ( scratches all over) housekeeping not a great job, tub was still dirty. Small rooms, overpriced food everywhere you go, great programs for kids at auntie' s beach house. Luau at Aulani was ok again I seen way better on tv. Hard to decide since nobody tells you about the best one. If you ask employees and people who booked activities they all suggest you Aulani Luau but I was disappointed not to much action, was to slow and boring for my taste, food was good. My last bad experiance was when I went to the little shop inside the hotel that is called kalepa's store bought like 200 dlrs worth of little gifts and last day of our stay went back to find a few more gifts for people I forgot and found some of the items I purchase a day before way cheaper like some Mickey pens I paid $3.99 and found them for$ 1.99 when i told the girl at the register she even remember us since we bought lots of cups and they took long time to wrapped them. She said hey I do remember you guys!!!.. but since we couldn't find the receipt they couldn't give us the difference. Even though she helped us. She said manager said you can exchange merchandise but we can't give you difference without receipt even do cashier does remember us. Difference was like almost $30 dlrs. I was so upset, expecting better customer service specially after same cashier helped us and told manager she remember us. C'mon Disney very disappointed!!!!!
Single greatest vacation spot for Disney fans. Hawaiian culture on the forefront with respect to the island people and cultures. Then Disney runs in the background. Except for Disney service. Cast members every 20-30 feet to service guests.
Spectacular, spa is very special. Center water features has pools, water parks, slides, lazy river, beach of shielded ocean. Everything you know of Disney is here too.
We had an awesome staycation here at Aulani. Love the rooms, the friendliness, the Aloha Spirit. We try to go at least once or twice a year. If we don't fly to Disneyland. If u haven't been there you must go.
Beautiful location and wonderful, friendly staff. My only complaint is that, even though it's spring break, they are only doing the luau once while we are here and it sold out way before we came. (We tried to get reservations before coming.) I have heard wonderful things about this particular luau and was really hoping to see it myself.
Beautiful property and a lot of fun things to do, but I d expect top service for this price and it didn t come through. Example: we arrive on Sunday and the whole resort s TV service is out. As of Friday, it s still not fixed. We don t need a lot of TV, but small doses are really helpful when you have kids. I can figure out alternatives, but when you call to ask about it and they re dismissive and borderline rude of the question, it doesn t leave me with a good feeling. For spending this amount of money, I ll likely look elsewhere for my next family vacation.
There are a lot of people, very pretty. Half of a store as a convienance store. It should be its seperate store though. Live music sounded good too. Sign said private event, but we walked in on accident and no one said not to. So security could be better in thst regard.
It's amazing to go with children, but if you're going with friends or a couple I do not recommend it at all, although it's always good to find Mickey for a photo
To start off it has the best lagoon/pool area of any resort on the island. A huge lazy river, three hot tubs, a double layered infinite pool for adults and a family lazy pool. Now it's great that they have this poop area because their cove has terrible swimmer's itch. For you who don't know what swimmer's itch is, it's where microscopic parasites that normally infect birds are riddled through out the shallow water and dig into your skin. Your body then has an allergic reaction and rejects them forming hundreds of not thousands of pimple/blister sores. Some get it bad, and some don't get it much. So at least it has an extensivr pools area (even has a Lil kid water playground, and a bigger kid water playground as well as a tube slide and a normal dark slide l).the restaurants are hugely overpriced don't go to the ama ama I went there twice, not worth it. Makahiki is actually delicious (go for dinner and get the salmon) but it cost $102 for just two people. So it's also pricey. The resort is 40 min (on good traffic and over an hour and a half in bad traffic) from Waikiki where all the fun is. That's where you can go parasailing for like 35 bucks. At the Disney resort you got two options fork over 100 bucks per person for the sail boat excursion l, or pay 50 bucks for the an hour of paddle boarding. Not much to do. Also at the local ko olina marina you got dolphin/snorkeling boats but even those cost 130 a person. So if you come to aulani expect to just play in their extensive pool area for the whole time. My favorite thing to do was to go to the country Market across the street. Buy good and drinks at a much more reasonable price and lots of good snacks. Best market around for sure. I've stayed a total of two weeks at aulani and got terrible swimmers itch within the first three days. So just watch out.
Aulani was very nice, fancier than I expected. Wasn't expecting to find a mini water park there. Food was alright, served buffet style n Only downside of my experience was that the location of the venue for the social event I was attending was moved from indoors to outdoors. I felt kind of bad for the hosts since it was an inconvenience, but at least they were compensated for it. It was a risk though since the weather had been rainy. Also, a swarm of bees came to the area the event was at, it was really scary. Luckily, they didn't go inside the tent where all the guests were.
This place is gorgeous, it is Disney service and island service to a fault. I just wish there was a little more to do during the night time and the pools and beach were open/lit for a little later.
1st full day here on our 2nd vacation here at Aulani. So, it's too relaxing to write any detailed comment.. ** i have an appointment with "relaxing vacation" )))
Beautiful place. We come here often. This time around had trouble with clogged sink, trouble with television and outlets. They were addressed quickly. Otherwise we always enjoy coming here.
A Unique Luxury resort for the entire family. Huge pool, lazy river and water park type features as well as the spectacular Lagoon. Excellent food. An incredible spot for a destination wedding!!!
Very over priced for what you get. You can't get any where to sit during the day, shower are cold there is no communication on what is happening during the day .
Great location, family friendly, close to good food/groceries, great amenities including pools, beach, lazy river, and water slides. Has a Disney theme but its much more subtle unlike the parks. However its on the pricey side, would recommend looking elsewhere if you dont have young children.
Beautiful resort, lots of stuff to do. Good food. Just a little expensive. 10 for kids meals. Make sure you reserve Aunties beach house early, and have already made food reservations.
Amazing amazing stay!! Great value for the money they you spend. The water slides are amazing!! The beach is great. The staff is very courteous and friendly!! The dinner buffet is phenomenal!! It books quick so make a reservation
The ocean view villa is worth the price!! Comes with kitchen and laundry. Great for travelling with kids
The lu au is spectacular!! There are great restaurants across the street, as well as grocery store and a liquor store. The resort itself has lots to do!! The pools are amazing and so are the restaurants!! Definitely a luxurious experience.
Very nice place, but stayed there without having children in our group and kind if wished there had been an Adults Only section of resort, pools, and beach areas. That said, the staff was VERY helpful when my Mom fell and got hurt, and it was extremely helpful to have a wheelchair available for us to borrow. Rooms and especially the bathrooms were very dark. This was especially frustrating for us women trying to get ready, do makeup, etc.
We ate at the Makahiki character breakfast, and it was a wonderful time for all involved. We began by meeting Mickey Mouse, who was wearing shorts and flip-flops, followed by a ~10 minute wait to be seated. An auntie (an older lady) hosted a very interactive show for the keki (children) where they sang, danced, and shook various simple percussion instruments. Minnie Mouse was present and participating the whole time. After the show period, Minnie and Goofy came by each table to say hello. The food was good! The buffet includes Mickey Mouse waffles, pancakes, (subpar) biscuits and gravy, lots of thick cut bacon, eggs of various types, a sizable Japanese section (including miso soup and other things westerners don't tend to consider breakfast), a smallish Hawaiian section with Loco Moco, fried and white rice, and Portuguese sausage, and more. There was no real maple syrup, only imitation stuff, along with some coconut syrup (that seemed to also be corn syrup based). The orange juice was quality (it was not the bitter testing minute maid you would expect from a place that serves Coke products), and was included in the breakfast.
Great spot to get a Disney experience without traveling to California! The character breakfast is a must if you have little ones and the cheerfulness and excitement of the staff are infectious!
Everyone is super friendly and the resort is beautiful. The food is extremely over priced and the pools and hot tubs close at 8PM. If the food was moderately priced and the hot tubs were open later I'd give it 5 stars.
It's a very nice place for kids and families to enjoy a Stay the restaurants are very good and the food is excellent. You have a very nice view of the ocean and there are fish that come on the beach. You can also go snorkeling it is cool because there is a lot of coral, tropical fish And you can even see sea turtles.
