Illegal practices for debt collection. Remember to ask for an explanation in writing before you give them ANY personal or financial info, in addition to their license #; it is your right to ask a debt collector to verify the debt and a legitimate collector will gladly provide it. You may send a letter to request this information and ask for an explanation in writing before you pay. The fraudulent debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or will harass you for payment with intimidation tactics.

Just s QUICK yet VERY SIGNIFICANT observation I would love to point out here!!
There is a 5-STAR, COMMENT left by a commenter below, using the"handle" or username; "Rachel Brasfield White"; basically stating the moral obligation one has when they do not pay back money they have borrowed, but my point is not concerning that, but the "FACTUAL" recounting of a conversation as well as an e-mail exchange with an employee of the company, who the account commenter, SPECIFICALLY NAMED. THAT OH-SO-ORIGINAL-NAME, "Patricia Smith"!

We are then lead to believe that, "MS. SMITH" helped the commenterher resolve her debt via phone calls and via e-mail correspondence. Now, I am not nieve enough to think that there is only ONE "Patricia Smith" out there in this world, HOWEVER, I I do find it EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS when I then see another Commenter NAMED PATRICIA SMITH, commenting (IMMEDIATELY BELOW THE ORIGINAL COMMENTER'S 5-STAR COMMENT IRONICALLY ENOUGH) how great of a company atlantic apparently is!!!!!!!

HOWEVER, NOT ONCE DOES PATRICIA SMITH IDENTIFY HERSELF AS AN EMPLOYEE OF SAID COMPANY, atlantic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It Really raises an eyebrow does it not?!?!? That atlantic is reverting to what appears to be, manipulation of their GOOGLE STAR RATING!!!!!!!!!! By apparently having their employees comment highly and giving the company 5-STAR REVIEWS!!!!!

SMH!!!!!!!!!!! Really says and shows alot to consumers if you are willing to FALSELY AND MISLEADINGLY leave reviews about your own company at the behest of said company!

Tried to call and settle a debt. When trying to ask what my options were for repayment, I was treated with disrespect and told I would be recorded as failure to pay and the case manager, Shonda hung up on me.Tried to call back and talk to supervisor to report her and was hung up on for a second time. seems to me if some one is trying to make something right, you would treat the with better customer service.

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Completley unprofessional and the staff are VERY rude. Let me share my experience, I have been receiving messages and calls repeatedly. I feel harrassed and unable to get away considering I've told them they have the wrong person/number several times. You'd think they'd take a hint, they didn't. Despite the notes in their system that say not to call and me blocking them, they continue.
The last time I called and asked for them to stop or I'd be forced to take legal action, I was told by an employee named MARK, "lady I've told you okay like 4 times, and im not threatened by you or your comments" shockingly rudely may I add.

So.... you dont care mark? Wow... looks really good on your company.

Guys, most definitely wouldn't recommend these people, totally unprofessional. And the funniest part is how much information they've leaked about the person they're actually trying to get in touch with. Mario, whom I dont know... or ever even met or know anything about. I got this number in February, and know way more than I should about this person, sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you dont want your info leaked to strangers, then DO NOT do business with this company!

There's a reason they only have 2 stars people.... heed the warning!!!!

Let me be real for a minute if you'll hear me out: I know some people will disagree with me. You owe someone money whether it be a medical bill, a loan, or whatever else someone gave you without you having to pay in full, and you don't pay the bill. After a certain amount of time the place that you got the loan or item from gives up trying to get you to pay. They sell over the account to a collection agency which is more equipped to collect debts. Yes, they call you at work, yes they spoof the number to make it look local, and yes they call family members. Why? It is because you don't communicate with them. Point blank, if you owe money you owe money. If you don't want them to call you, tell them. Here is the point I am getting at. This debt collection company, Atlantic Recovery Solutions, called my father yesterday. They have called my cell, spoofed their number numerous times, and called my job. I never answered. I wasn't able to call so I emailed them and got an immediate response from Patricia Smith who informed me that they would not contact my family members anymore. It was that easy. I corresponded with her and set up payment arrangements to pay MY debt. I borrowed the money, I flaked and didn't pay, and I owe it. I had a wake up call (no pun intended) and realized that if you just communicate these debt collectors are not monsters like we make them out to be. Sure they tag on extra fees and all of the other negative things that you see, but you wouldn't even be in their system had you paid your bill from the original creditor. I've owned up to my debt, and I'm not saying all debt collection agencies are good- I don't know enough. I just know that this one worked with me, corresponded quickly, Mrs. Smith was so friendly and worked with me, and now there is a huge weight off my shoulders. All you have to do is talk to them. Sorry for the long rant.

I had a debt from kay jeweler's I spoke with a representative named Amber Lynn in regards to this and not only was she one of the nicest reps I have dealt with she was able to help me clear up the last account on my credit report. Because of her I was able to purchase my very first home. So for that I thank you atlantic recovery solutions.....

Constantly calling me over an old credit card that I had back in the day with my mom. Very rude unprofessional messages were left on my answering machine. I finally decided to answer and let the rep know that my mom is currently ill and they can stop using her name associated with my debt. I then preceded to make an attempt at explaining why I wasn't making payments on the debt as it was marked as bad on my credit score and the money I paid them last year made no difference to my score. She screamed at me and I have no idea what she said so I screamed back and she hung up on me. I probably would have remained calm had she spoken in a calm tone as well. I paid them some money last year as working in my credit has been really hard for me but realized they were not reporting any of the payments I made to Experian or transunion. I didnt hear from them for almost 8 months then out of the blue they started calling my grandmothers house and finally my house and leaving rude messages on my answering machine. I want more than anything to settle debts but this place is a scam theres no way they help people and if they do them people truly got lucky because the screaming matched that ensued for me this evening definitely doesnt have me wanting to write them a check. I've also never received any letters just phone calls nothing in writing regarding the debt. Just seems a bit strange to me. Horrible company horrible customer service

Got multiple calls a day from these people. Got voicemails stating that I am being taken for court and being sued. I called the number couple times got told that they were closed. And called one last time I got hung up on. Then 3rd time I called and I got transfered not once but twice. I got told that I was being sued for an old debt, they had my phone number and address and date of birth. I told the guy that I didnt know what this was for and I was in no way going to pay anything. He said do you know what being sued means. I said I am out of work so you want me to pay money I dont have for an old debt that doesnt even matter. He said ok I will put this in your file and I will let them know that you want them to sue you. You obv dont care what happens to you so good luck and hangs up on me.

This stuff really pisses me off .

This company is well known for calling friends and family and not the one in debt, did you know you can get up to $1500/occurence? If the caller ID shows a different number than what you're requested to call, file a complaint with the FCC. They use random residential phone numbers to mask their number.

I would like to personally thank Felicia Thomas for assisting me with my account . You have helped me out when many have approached my account with a negative response but you was very positive from the first time you contacted me until the last. Thank you very much.

I wish if there was no star option to put as a review about them. I received a phone call from them about my old debt. The guy who was talking to me was very bais and once I told him that I am disabled he yelled at me and hung up on me. He wanted to collect $700 from me on the phone when I told him that I don't use my card on the phone just send me a bill he got nervous and he was pushing me very hard to pay by phone. This is a scheme please if you recive any calls from them ignore it.

This company is calling me threatening to file a lawsuit against me. When I have contacted them and provided proof that I am the wrong person that they are looking for they state they will remove my numbers. then a few days later they are calling me again. You call me again and I will take legal action against this company

The very first person I spoke to was very nice and she herself would be rewarded for her customer service and professionalism. However the second person who has contacted me was absolutely rude. He must have been a boss or some form of higher position because of the way he spoke to me. He was so determined to get me to make a payment plan and started questioning my life. "What was your last job? Why did you get fired?" If you are going to call someone and collect a debt, you should mind your own business instead of questioning why that person is unable to provide the money seeing as they have been suddenly fired from their job. You should also learn to respect people because with that tone of your's, you're going to drive people away, which is the opposite of the goal of a debt collector, right?

I've been getting calls from this company for a little while now. They are calling for a family member of mine so I just ignored it because I'm not in contact with them. Eventually I called because an employee left a message where he sounded annoyed and I was sick of the calls.

I called and spoke with the employee who was leaving the messages. I told him I didn't know the number or address of the person they were looking for. The employee scoffed at me, said "okay" and hung up on me.

I called back because I thought he had been pretty rude about it. He asked why I called back since they put me on the "do not call" list. I said it was because he was being rude to me. He told me that I was harassing him and that he would be contacting someone about it then proceeded to hangup on me.

The staff here are extremely helpful. They are very knowledgeable about their clients and work hard to make sure you have all the information you need to resolve your debt quickly and save you as much money and headaches as possible. I would definitely recommend anyone with an account in their office to call and deal with them. You will not regret it.

I appreciate the help that this company has given me to get out of debt. I wish that other credit services would take a page from their book and work with their customers just as wonderfully as they do. I ve received numerous help, they protected me when someone was trying to fraudulently steal money from me, and I ve almost paid of my debt with them in as few as a couple of years. Thank you for your help!

I tried getting a new car and was denied because of my credit score. I went on Credit Karma to see what was effecting me, other than student loans (no escaping those). This office had 2 accounts of mine, Kay Jewelers and Jared. The company on my credit that purchased my account got me right over to this office. There can be some excessive calling, which I've complained and learned its their "dialer system." I spoke with Megan Chase who worked with me and advised me how I can improve my credit. Her supervisor Sean Maxwell then offered me a settlement and emailed me my paid in full letters right away.

I went from paying 20 monthly, to settling both accounts just last week.

Overall, the representatives are helpful and credible (being that the company from my credit report gave me their number to pay).
My only complaint was the excessive calling, which was rectified shortly thereafter.

Im adding my review now because the negative reviews is what made me avoid paying my bill. Yes, my relatives were called, and yes I was upset. but the debt was valid, it was on my credit report, i have both paid in full letters.

Horrible! And EXTREMLY RUDE. I have been nothing but respectful when Brooke calls me. I have been extremely honest. And she threatens to get employment verification. I am assuming that as a threat to garnish my wages. I was willing to work out a payment arrangement and did not know exactly what day I could commit, She then became extremely rude. After the conversation today I will not be excepting any more calls from her or this company. Maybe when my name shows up on your list again in a year from now you can be more respectful. I am sure they do not read the reviews however, a piece of advice is, you have no idea what another person is going through in life and you should not treat people the way you do.

I received a phone call from this number and the caller said her name was Brooke Nelson. I don't know the person they asked for butt did mention a family member of mine. I called that family member afterwards and told them the situation. She said she believes it to be a scam because her husband got the same type of call. I called back and asked to be placed on the do not call list and the first chick got an attitude and hung up. Tried calling back again but the second guy had the same response. Rude company with rude employees.

This company is awful. They treat people with total disrespect. They treat people like they are less than human for having a bill in collections. They judge and make statements not knowing why a bill has gone to collections. They don't know ones situation as to why a bill has gone to collections and they make awful comments of judgement.

Tamera left two VERY RUDE and unprofessional voicemails on my cellphone within the last week claiming that she needed employment verification. No one is that rude, demanding, or threatening when the need an employment verification! I would suggest retraining Tamera and any other associate that feels that this is a good customer service tactic!

Pretty sure this a scam seeing how my husband has no debt besides what we have on our van and we never had a late payment and he has nothing showing up on his credit report. So please think twice before you give them your personal information. Sad they are so desprate that they contacted his x wife.

ERIC RYCKMAN -- LIAR. Called pretending to "verify employment." Rude and harrasing family members of person they are trying to reach at MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. Keep calling my phone number for a family member and "telling me" to pass the message along. STOP CALLING ME AT WORK - STOP CALLING ME, PERIOD.

Very unprofessional! Communication is very poor, they can t hold a conversation long enough to find a solution. Don t give any information over until you have actually called the original credit card company to see who has your account. This company is very suspicious and pretty sure it s a scam.
