Great facility, spacious and accommodating. Awesome instructors (I ve had 4 here throughout the years), excellent selection of planes. They re usually newer. Maintenance guys are quick to help if you have a general question or need help with something before a flight. If you re looking to learn to fly, Aspen and their 2 other schools in the Denver area are the place to do it. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Book far in advance during the summer. The plane schedule fills up very fast.

Aspen was my first flight school that I attended. When I walked in, I was beyond a newbe. Aspen is a first class school, with instructors that care. I interviewed a couple other schools as well, but they paled in comparison to Aspen. Since then, I have completed my license and I am currently enrolled in additional training. although I didn't breeze through it like some schools advertise. I remember being frustrated, and at times directing it to the school... The instructors...but in the end it wasn't them, it was me.

Aspen makes sure you're safe, you're ready and makes sure the aircraft are up to spec, Last thing anyone wants is an accident in this industry and I feel confident climbing into anything they state is airworthy!

Made an appt with Doug to go flying. When I showed up he was too busy playing on a computer to even look up at me. He said somewhat brusquely, "be with ya in a minute". I gave him 5 minutes then walked out and went over to Flights, inc. Too bad, they have a great AC fleet. But if one of their senior instructors treats customers this poorly I'd hate to meet the rest of the bunch.

A great option for helicopter pilots looking to get their fixed-wing add-on certificates in an efficient and cost effective manner. Matt Wichern has done an excellent job developing and implementing a course syllabus for the rotor transition program. Matt patiently responded to all of my inquiries regarding the program prior to me beginning training there, and is very interested in the success of the RTP students. I am an Army helicopter pilot that started the RTP at Aspen while waiting to begin training at a regional airline I had a conditional job offer with. I was very impressed with the professionalism displayed by all of the instructors and staff at Aspen and by the well maintained fleet of aircraft. I highly recommend transitioning helicopter pilots look into Aspen as a way to meet all their flight training objectives!

I have been flying for about eight years. I joined Aspen earlier this year and have nothing but good things to say about them. The aircraft fleet is well-maintained and there are a wide variety of airplanes to choose from. I never have an issue finding a plane, even with last-minute bookings. Flight instruction has been great, with a strong focus on safety and correct procedures. I'm looking forward to getting my next rating with Aspen!

Will never do business with again. All you had to do was call us and say the flight was canceled instead we drove 2 hours to find out. Father's day ruined I could have made other plans, you suck maybe you should hire someone that can pick up a phone and use it. Clearly no one is intelligent and I sure as hell won't fly with dumbasses that can't even work a phone.

This flying club is easily the best in the Denver area. I researched a lot of clubs before joining the Aspen Flying Club. They have the best fleet of aircraft and very well maintained. (My thoughts are, if I'm flying in an airplane, I want it to stay flying while I'm in it. I also like that their fleet is relatively new. I particularly like the Gobosh 700 (they have 3 of them) Light Sport aircraft. The instructors and staff are supper friendly. If you just want to stop in and chat about aviation, or hang out to watch planes come and go, they are always accommodating. The ground school class was completely informative and will teach you everything you need to know to pass your written exam in a 6 week coarse. They always keep a hot pot of coffee in the lounge. Check them out, then look at the others, you'll come back here.

AFC is amazing. I started my PPL 5 weeks ago with Doug Batford and completed my oral and checkride today and became a pilot. I also had the opportunity to fly with a few other instructors and they're all awesome.

The planes and instructors are all the same rate that you'll find at most other clubs around the country. Planes are kept in excellent condition. Booking system is great and reliable. Environment is comfy and friendly. The school has a Redbird simulator which works great. The fleet is one of the largest and most varied around.

They also have a volunteer program for pilots to transport rescue animals around the country.

If you're looking for flight instruction or just to join a really cool club with great, reasonably priced planes, definitely check out Aspen Flying Club.

Also just a side note, KAPA (Centennial airport) is an incredible learning environment. It's Class D airspace with ground control, a tower, three simultaneously operating runways and it underlies DIA's class B airspace. So a great complex environment to get used to controlled airspace.

Aspen Flying Club is, in my opinion, the best place to fly. I did my research, when I learned to fly, and no other flying club came close. Aspen flying club as the largest most diverse fleet in Colorado. Everyone there is really friendly and the flight instructors are very knowledgeable. There is always a plane available even for last minute flights. The location of the club is no more than five minutes, flying time, away from some of the best views in Colorado. Aspen Flying Club has a great lounge where you can relax and talk to other pilots or prepare for a flight.

For those looking into flight clubs whether to fly as an experienced pilot or to learn to fly, I would highly recommend Aspen Flying Club. You won t find such a large and diverse fleet anywhere else.

This club has undergone some major changes in the past year and despite the big hailstorm that hit, they have really turned around their fleet and are striving to make it a top notch club that not only provides aircraft for rent, but encourages camaraderie among those who are, or strive to be aviators! The front desk is friendly and helpful and most of the instructors there know what they are talking about and are very knowledgeable! I'd highly recommend flying with them!

I came in to obtain information on training, and was recommended a Discovery Flight by one of the front desk members. While going over the options, the phone range, and he told me to "Hold on for a second" while raising his finger at me. After a 2 minute call, he asked "where were we?" Then either a renter or an instructor came in and interrupted our conversation. The front desk guy told me again "one minute" got up walked out, and after 5 mins I decided to leave. Apparently costumer service isn't their thing. No problem though, I walked out and went to ATP
just down the road where I signed up for my first lesson. Thanks Aspen!

Amanda was great and was able to handle a last minute discovery flight booking. Went up with Livanh(I hope I spelled that right.) He was great and easy to talk to. We was very informative without being dry and boring. Only small complaint is he was running late(15mins +/-) from a previous flight and it cut into some of our flight time(prop spin at 11:05 and taxing back by 11:45) . I am sure we could have asked him to stay up with no issues but we were needing to get on the road. Overall great flight and will be looking into this flight club in the near future to continue flying.

Did my training for my instrument rating at another location Western Flight Academy. The instructors were amazing and planes were decent. My 1 star review is because I paid out of pocket while using my GI Bill. The VA paid the flight school 2 months ago and they were supposed to refund me. It has been 2 months and I was told multiple times they saw the payment and would cut me a check. This is all handled by the Centennial location. Now I can't get a call or even email back. If this is how you treat military using their GI Bill then there are multiple other locations in Denver that will take our money.

Worst Experience EVER ! My wife bought a certificate through Rush Cube for a 30 minute discovery flight. Unfortunately the only airport they said I could fly out of was over an hour away. I scheduled my flight, Rush Cube did all they were supposed to do and scheduled the flight with Aspen Flying Club. I get down there and they don't have my flight scheduled, they have no pilots willing to take me on my flight and they spend 30 minutes blaming it all on Rush Cube (which actually scheduled the flight they even have a recording of the call they made). The people at Aspen Flying Club I dealt with didn't even care when I told them I was going to go get my money back. Aspen Flying Club seem more concerned with placing the blame elsewhere then fulfilling this guy's dream of flight. You can fly with them if you want but I sure as hell never will.

Update: In June 2014, I moved to Texas for work and expected to find at least one flying club similar to Aspen Flying Club. After extensive searching, I couldn't find anything remotely close to it. Accumulating only 25 hours of flying over the course of a year, I arranged returning to Colorado because Aspen Flying Club isn't in Texas. In one month since my return, I've flown nearly 1/3 of the hours I flew in Texas!

Aspen Flying Club offers everything I desire in a flying club and more: A diverse fleet of well-maintained airplanes at reasonable prices, experienced flight instructors, friendly staff, a variety of ground school courses, outstanding fly-outs, and relaxing lounge areas for socializing with other pilots, instructors, and staff.

I received a Groupon for Aviation 101 Experience at Aspen Flying Club. This was a birthday gift from my friends.
When I called to schedule appointment in February, I was told that there will be no classes until June. I told them that it is fine with me and let's book it for June, and I mentioned that I have a Groupon. The representative on the phone told me that he can't book me for June and that i have to do it online, however my Groupon won't work by that time (!) and he was telling me the story that their company is getting such a small portion of the money from the Groupon that they pretty much don't care.. I told him that I know how Groupon works, since I advertise my business through Groupon as well, however I make a commitment to fulfill all Groupon customers with the same qualiity of service as others.

Me: "What should I do?"
Rep: "Tell your friends to return the Groupon and then buy it again in June"

I told my friends what happened, eventually Groupon was returned and bad impression about Aspen Flying Club is made even without first flight.

We wanted to give our grandchildren a discovery flight experience while in Colorado on vacation.
We came Saturday Jan 19 2019 and could not be accommodated, so we rescheduled for Jan 21 2019. We were staying in Colorado Springs so had to drive up. On Monday got a call that weather did not permit the flight, so please rescedule. I told them vacation was over so we are returning to Virginia. Please refund the money. The lady talked to her manager and said, oh it is just a click of the button I will do it right away, should take two days, after three days Jan 24 2019 I called while on the road and where our money was. Oh , it was done yesterday, you should have it by Friday. It is now Monday 1/28 /2019 and I am about to call since I still do not have my $260 refund. I find this totally unacceptable. They canceled the flight so they should make sure the customer gets their money back, not a week later wondering when it will come and giving me the run around about when to expect it.

I like Aspen Flying Club, I like their business model.
I completed my private pilots license at Flights Inc because I wanted 141, which Aspen didn't offer. Rumor has it that Aspen will be a 141 operation soon. So that's something to look forward to when I'm ready to start my instrument training.

After earning my private pilot certificate I decided to get checked out in the Cirrus SR-20 (I had the 100 hour minimum), and I also got checked out in the Katana DA-20. I was looking for something different to fly other then the 172, which I spent close to about 85 hours in.

The staff was very helpful in getting me setup as a new member.

The club has a social feeling to it, and it is very simple to network with other members in the club. Aspen holds fly-out events to other airports for their members.
They also offer free, and low cost training courses.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that I can do a self checkout after hours. If you want to go flying at 3AM, you are more then welcome to as long as the A/C isn't scheduled during the time you want to fly. Aspen has a very simple after hours procedure, which gives you the ability to get up and go when you want. Unlike other flying clubs, you have to call to reserve the A/C prior to the office closing. But not at Aspen.

The reason why I give 4 stars instead of 5

I did have 1 issue where I contacted a CFI, wanting to get a good introduction to the club, and schedule a flight, and he didn't return any of my phone calls, and this particular CFI is one of their senior instructors.

I called the office, and they provided me with a couple more CFI's to chose from. The next CFI I contacted was eager to get me in the air. From that point forward I didn't have any issues.

The CFI's at Aspen all have different rates. My SR-20 CFI was 50 a hour, and the Katana CFI was 45 a hour.

A majority of all of their CFI's can teach in all the A/C. However I wanted to get checked out in the SR-20, and the Katana. I had to have two different CFI's. The SR-20 CFI couldn't teach the Katana, and the Katana CFI couldn't teach the SR-20. So that was two different personalities, and teaching styles I had to adopt to in a short amount of time. But don't get me wrong, the CFI's where both awesome!! I will have a hard time choosing which CFI I will want to do my IFR with, because both instructors where great, and knowledgeable about everything. They are very very patient (which I can be a slow learner at times it took me 80 hours to get my ppl if that means anything) and they will make sure you are safe, and really understand whats going on.

I give my professional recommendation to this club if you are a perspective member. Around the clock A/C rentals, and professional staff.

Bought wife a Intro to Flying as anniversary gift ...

Bought wife a Intro to Flying as anniversary gift as she has always expressed a passion for flying. Scheduled flight and arrived at Aspen 8/18. They were running a little behind that morning but the staff and everyone there was very friendly, the waiting area was nice and comfortable to hang out in and was fun to talk to all the people there. Eric Hinkle was an excellent instructor. He was relaxed yet firm in his instruction which made my wife feel more confident. My wife flew the whole time except for landing the plane which was amazing. She said she really enjoyed how great Eric was to fly with and would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to fly. Now she has the bug and can't wait to start learning to fly. We highly recommend Aspen Flying Club.
