Great staff. Really make you feel at home. Clean room

Went to eat dinner on a Monday night in July and sat at the bar. A bartender (female) came and asked what we would like to drink. My wife ordered wine and I asked for a Tom Collins. The bartender then proceeded to name ingredients and then asked me if they were in the drink? I said your the bartender and she repeated yes I am. She seemed puzzled and I said just make it a vodka collins and she promptly asks if I want vodka or gin?? Seriously I said vodka! My wife said I want to stay here for your birthday make reservations for 2 days. I tried online but it just wouldn't take. I had a price and went to the front desk to reserve a the room. I went back and ordered a hamburger from the specials list which was supposed to include cheese and bacon. After about 10 minutes our food came out and the bartender says did you order cheese? Uh yeah it says cheese burger on the list. Ok she says and puts a burger down in front of me which had no bacon!! The other burger for another patron had bacon but no cheese! Not good. Couldn't get her attention so I ate. After returning home I got my reservation in my email and found out their was an $18.00 per nigh parking fee!! We stayed here before and were never charged a fee and neither were our guests here for a wedding?? Then I realize from Thursday to Friday the room rate went up about $100 which was never stated at the front desk, never mind that the front desk had a cheaper rate than online?? That doesn't make sense. I called and cancelled the reservation siting the issues. I wrote an email twice to the hotel outlining the experience but never got a response. We also were told by my wife's sister that the previous day they went for dinner and waited about an hour for appetizers!! And another table did as well and complained but nothing was done. I am not sure who owns the hotel because no one will respond. It is a shame it has gone down so much!!

Beautiful view and the best service. This is by far, my favorite hotel!!!

Awesome hotel. The room we got had a really good view of the ocean and the Hampton strip. The hotel restaurant and bar are fantastic. Food reasonably priced and well prepared. Plus they have a separate breakfast cafe for the morning. Also you can't beat the location . You can walk right across the street to the beach and the restrooms are right there as well. Perfect when traveling with a small child. Only thing I'd say negative is the pool house needs some updating. But it did come in handy when it rained for a while. Overall it was a great time and wed definitely stay there again.

Great view from the front of the room on the balcony a little expensive but you get what you pay for in this case!

Okay so I'm very disappointed in this hotel ! .. I'm used to staying at the marriot or holiday in ect so not sure if my expectations are high .. but the room is TINY and I mean tiny. The balcony is very tiny as well enough room for one person if your small then 2. I came in and our tv had only sound no picture. So I called maintenice and he said it's because you had it on HD channel. He said they dont have HD. I was like wow okay. Also theres no guide on the TV so u have to keep flipping through every channel till you get one you like. . Also. No premium channels like it says online ! Only basic cable. I'm here with 4 kids under 8 years old. So that was a huge issue. . The pool is very big and nice. Very warm. I paid a pretty penny for this room and it's not worth it. If anything this hotel should be worth 60 bucks and call them selves a motel. I wont be staying here again.

PRIME spot on the beach. By far one of the best hotels on the strip. It is pricier then other motels/hotels/inns, but we'll worth it. The one thing I didn't like is the no smoking rule on your private balcony.But rules are there for a reason!

Went there for their New Year's party 1996. It was me and my now ex-husband's first Christmas and New Years together. Well, we had so much fun!! We came home and 9 months later gave birth to our daughter!! I wish there was a way to share the photo here but 22 years later our now grown daughter wanted to meet up in Hampton Beach so she could spend some time at the beach with me, her brother and her step dad. We find parking and she finds parking only to discover we both found parking right next door to the Ashworth!! I couldn't resist!! I took a picture of her standing beside the hotel with the sign showing behind her!! She is my Ashworth baby for sure!! Thank you guys for the best gift a mom could ever have!!

The hotel room door does not lock. Very loud until really late

Left my brand new winter boots in the room by mistake then checked out. Housekeeping says they never found the boots. That s the only place they could ve been. So beware there is a thief working there.

Nice location. Beach right across the street. However for the rates they charge, poor customer service. Very disappointing. Desk staff were not friendly, welcoming or helpful. Food wasn t good for that kind of hotel. Wait staff appeared clueless. Breakers restaurant disappointing. Indoor pool very small. Hotel room was a box. Very small. 2 pillows provided. 18 dollars a day to keep car in garage. For the price you pay to stay here it should be included. Was charged double. 100 at check in was told it was for a hold however my card was fully charged and then another 89 at checkout for valet parking and amenities . Would never stay here again or refer to anyone else. I could have gone to the Dominican for less money and better customer service

My wife stayed at the Ashworth by the sea on 10/22. At 7:00 a.m. a construction crew began working with power tools right outside of the room? They should not rent rooms near a construction site! She was very disappointed, We would not recommend staying here!

Really nice staff. We had a great time with our dogs.

The only hotel on Hampton Beach for me. Five star service & rooms at economy prices. The Warfside Cafe is a first-light delight & Breakers has a comfortable & friendly restaurant/bar atmosphere

Polite and friendly staff. Short wait time and good food. Pretty expensive though.

Room was ok. Food is the worst!! Smelt pot in hallway and room as if someone was blowing it in my face. Told supervisor at front desk (Luis). Where do they find there employees?He was rude and did not seem to care. I dont think he believed me. If you are there for beach and quiet, drive up further to a motel. $200 cheaper a night.

Great location, friendly atmosphere, fairly decent rooms, passable restaurants. Needs updates and major improvements to the restaurants to be back to its glory.

We normally stay at the Ashworth when in Hampton Beach, but we stayed elsewhere this trip. My review, today, is for the Wharfside Cafe.

We had breakfast here twice this weekend and it has been perfect both times. The food and coffee is hot and fresh. Service is very pleasant and fast. We are very impressed and will be back tomorrow for our last day at the beach.

The hotel has a GREAT location. Close to everything, and right across from the beach. It has a great pool, and wonderful restaurants. For my stay, we were staying in room 271. We had a balcony with a good view of the beach. But the down side of our stay. We had a leak in our ceiling. When we called down to the front desk, they sent someone up to our room to look at it. The man said it just looked like condensation. And he would bring us a dehumidifier. After he left, we looked closer, and noticed it was not condensation, and it was a full blown leak. My friend and I walked down to the front desk and talked to the lady at the front desk, and showed her a video that we took with PROOF it was not condensation. We spoke with the manager and he offered us half of what we paid, which in retrospect was way to much for what we got. We spoke with the maintenance man once more and told him that it was not condensation. We think he was just telling us that it was condensation to save the hotels butt, but we are not stupid. After about 2 or 3 hours of dealing with this issue we finally received notice that we would be receiving a full refund, which I have sense received. It was quite the adventure. Most of the employees were nice and accommodating, but others were rude and treated us like stupid rich kids that didn t know our big toes from our head.

Great food and great service right along the beach!

Sadly this Hotel is in need of a remodel. Musty smell throughout the property, dirty carpets, dirty balconies with bird poop and ground in dirt with years of accumulation. Bed sheets smelled like they were old and mattresses completely shot, room carpet had stains everywhere. Only bright spot, the bathrooms were clean. But time has taken its toll and it needs makeover badly! Staff for the most part, average, but 2020 has been a nightmare so can't blame them. Can't beat the view at least in oceanfront rooms, the side room views are getting squeezed out by new Condo building...in the north side. Not what it used to be for sure....2.5 stars

My parents always went to the Ashworth and LOVED it. I ve been having some medical issues and thought it would be great to get away for a night to the beach. Unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital. I called to change my reservation. The manager wasn t available to find out if it was ok so she cancelled my reservation and told me she d get back to me. Two days later, I am notified that they will not allow a change and charged me full price for the room!! Bad customer service. Just out for the dollar when you can t work with a customer to change a date.

Found hair in tub, hotel charges too much for lack of updates in rooms. Coffee maker didnt even work and beds were uncomfortable

Wonderful time and the most beautiful place I've stayed in a long time in the area.

Had a fish sandwich and fries before comedy show started. Average no comment. With Darlene, a coworker. We now wait for the show to start.

Awesome place, very cute and cozy and friendly. Just wish the bathroom was updated a bit. They should replace hallway carpeting too. Otherwise we will be back!

No complaints about this place. I thought the parking fee would be a problem, but, it came with unlimited valet parking, 24 hours a day. As cheap as any other spot. Room service and restaurants on site. Free bottled water for the asking and chairs for the beach. Our new home away from home.

Last minute stay on NYE for a business related reason. It was ok but not spectacular. I would stay again, though, if I were in the area again. It is right across from the beach.

It's a little worn in places. Some front desk staff could use additional customer service training. Bar staff was very pleasant. Parking is a strange experience. Soap for bathroom is very hard so hard to use.

Nice location and hotel. Rooms are clean but beds in our room were worn and didn't sleep well. Friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay here again with hopes of better beds.

Room is fine, however frig was unplugged and there weren't enough plugs for frig and coffee maker. Unfortunately maintenance wasn't available and we ended up moving furniture to plug in appliances.

Had dinner and drinks on the deck on a Wednesday evening. Planned to enjoy the free live music (which was very good) and perhaps stay for fireworks. The service was pretty poor and inconsistent. We were ignored then rushed. The bar manager was surly. We watched as he scared off several customers and was rude to the performers. Food was mediocre, premade, everything served in plastic. Would only go back for the music.

Booked a room for labor day weekend and it was great how close it was to the beach ,but our room was terrible. It was small and we were crampped, out tv didnt work right as well. There was a terrible and consistent sound coming from underneath us, like someone was constantly dragging a chair on the floor. We called the front desk and when they sent maintenance up, he claims he didnt hear anything. We wanted to stay but the front desk said they were fully booked and couldnt move us, so they refunded our money. We ended up going to kittery, maine for the weekend.

Stayed on 3rd floor for 3 nights for our 20th anniversary. We loved our view of the ocean and our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakers resteraunt downstairs was awesome, great food, good service. The breakfast cafe was ok but expensive,we paid 10$ for a breakfast sandwich and about 3$ for a cup of coffee, so we only went once.
there is a Dunkin donuts very close with a short drive. We walked the property and checked out the indoor pool and we planned to swim, but after seeing it, we thought the pool water looked a little off & it looked nothing like the pool photo on the website. We didn't swim.

Comfy rooms comfy beds, great location, helpful friendly staff. Highly recommended!

We stayed over this past weekend, used a groupon. We had the deluxe king with partial ocean view. Despite the construction in progress the view was decent. The bed was comfortable, room was spacious. A couple of things I would like to notate, staff in the evening when checking in was not very attentive. Kind of rude I might say. Did not greet us at the desk, just ask for name. Did not mention anything about our $10 daily credit to use. In the morning when checking out, front desk staff was a slightly better, just making sure we're checking out, not a how was your stay, hope to see you next time etc..... you know good customer services etiquette . Last minute she tried to give us a $5 coupon discount on breakfast when she notice that we did not use the $10 credit.( We would of if we had known prior). Lastly, the "heated pool" was not heated. I was FREEZING my behind off! Might as well go take a dip in the ocean. We call the front desk to notify them of this and he simply said its 85 degrees in there. When in actuality it was 72 degrees according to the thermostat. They did have a HUGE fan running in there, not sure if that has cause the heat not to kick on. All in all staff can be a bit more attentive to ALL guests. Another thing WALLS are super thin, can hear EVERYTHING

Staff doesn't know what is around the area (stores) but room was nice. Small but wasn't in it long. View was okay. Had only two pillows. Clean. Great location. Do not recommend the hotel restaurant.

One of the nicer hotels in this area by far, and in a great location for nightlife and beach life! The room was rather small and a little out dates. We were in the south building. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean from what we could tell. The water pressure in the shower was not strong and It did take a good 10 minutes for the water to heat up. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. My largest complaint was not actually in relation to our room, but the Cafe for breakfast the day after our one night stay. Attached to the Ashworth, the Wharfside Cafe is there small breakfast restaurant. at first look, it seems to be a nice place. but after five seconds of being there, we regretted our decision to sit down. After being sat at a table, we waited 15 minutes before having to ask if a server would be coming over to us soon. We placed our orders and not a single thing came back correct. and to top it off the food was cold. My over all experience at the Ashworth was not a bad experience but the Wharfside was a entirely diffident story, negatively impacting my review.

Room was great, a little on the smaller side. However the staff was excellent.

Didn't give off the best vibes, but got you closer to the beach than some other places.

The music from their small deck was the best on the main strip and was what drew us there. The prices were comparable to the other beach front places $$$ for drinks but the oysters, at $2.50 a pop were really small and not very special. The clam chouder was fairly good but had too many potatoes. There is a fantastic view of the main drag and beach, along with good music that made for a nice experience....until the band ended at 8 PM.

The lobby was beautiful and had essentials for sale. The rooms were perfectly placed and angled to capture the ocean and a view of the sunset. And of course the location at Hampton Beach gives this hotel extra value.

The bar and restaurant appears beautiful but I did not patronize it.

I have always wanted to spend at least one night here ! This was always known as the fanciest place to stay at Hampton beach! I cannot express how disappointed my husband and myself are! $400 plus for no fire alarm , holes in the walls, and not so clean.. I literally have Never complained in my life . So disappointed

This place is pretty horrible. First of all, we got there and found half eaten pizza on the balcony. Then noticed fruit loops on the floor. There was a yellow mustard looking stain on the mattress. The TV was all snowy screened and messed up. We stayed for two nights. We went to get our car from the valet on the last day waited for a half hour in the sun. Just to have the guy come out, say he didn't know where the car was. THEN when they found it guess what? A flat tire. The car was fine when we dropped it off to them. The manager asked US if WE had AAA. Then finally said they'd call and get someone there. Another half hour later, all they do is put air in the tire and pretty much said good luck. They claimed they refunded us for only one of the nights. We'll see if that happens... not recommend if you don't want something to mysteriously happen to your car. Or old pizza on your beachfront view balcony...

My wife ran the Hampton Half Marathon which was based out of one the ballrooms here. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the bar manager was rude to patrons and racers. She, the manager, was not prepared for the crowds, and made sure to be rude to each person who passed through the bar.

I went to Ashworth by the Sea to attend the Sea Glass Expo. Everyone at the hotel was fabulous. My girlfriend and I ate lunch in the restaurant that is part of the Hotel. The food was outstanding and the service was spot on. I had a bloody Mary and the baked Haddock for lunch my girlfriend had a really great summer type cocktail that had Proseco, muddled raspberries and Lemoncello. She had the broiled seafood platter that consisted of Haddock, scallops, and shrimp. The prices were reasonable, about $20 per entree and neither of us could finish our neal. They gave us generous portions. We were there off-season so there was plenty of parking across from the hotel.

Your money would be better spent at a Red Roof Inn than this place. We were here Aug 15th 2020. We booked a room w/ a view of the ocean and it was awful. The door lock didn t work correctly. The room was dirty and outdated. Most of the wall outlets did not work. The bed was probably as old as the hotel. The shower lost hot water and you needed to shut it off and restart the water. We had lobster that night at the restaurant and you might as well been eating and eraser. Avoid this over priced hole.

Wow! This place went above and beyond for me and my family. After hours of long travel and mishaps we arrived late and the staff went above and beyond. Words can t express my gratitude for the kindness shown. I will never stay anywheres else when visiting Hampton! Thank you!

Great place to stay has restaurant and breakfast right in the hotel

Attended a wedding reception, and also stayed two nights. Rooms are small, but the balcony views are great. Reception room was beautiful, and the food was amazing. Helpful staff all round. Will definitely be back!

Nobody at valet knew how to drive standard,they left car on road
I spent 30min teaching a girl,Then on balcony the chair was broke with a sharp rusty edge,I called left mgr a message an desk,never got a new one or response..I ripped my new shorts it scratched my back, so I had to get A tetnus shot.At check out I spoke with Mgr he said he'd discount at 1 day at 50% it's the next day there was a $40 difference between the first an last day...I called an was on hold 25 min,I called back an again on hold 30 minutes then they hung up..Beach is Great NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THAT PLACE EXCEPT LOCATION.ITS RUN POORLY,UNPROFESSIONAL ,UNTRAINED,STAFF.A NIGHTMARE
