Poor company to work for all good employee incentives were put in place by the previous CEO Dr. Kjeldsberg and the current CEO is bleeding the company dry and running it into the ground. Company used to care about there employees but now are all about making money and cutting costs and benefits of the employee's while still paying very poor for technicians.

I'll start this review by noting that I donated with ARUP in the past and also work for the U of U hospital.

I was called by ARUP and asked to come in and donate on Saturday morning without any further questions.

I spent about 45 minutes driving as I live far away and I filled out their questionnaire and was promptly turned away as I had surgery done within the last 6 months.

I understand why I was turned away and I agree completely; however this should have been something they told me or figured out with me before I wasted both my time and there time. A simple solution could be an email questionnaire or email education on what would make me ineligible to donate.

The staff however were extremely nice and informative and the facility was beautiful and clean. This review is merely looking at the technicalities which is why it may appear negative at first glance. This is an amazing place to donate and I highly recommend that if you can donate, that you do.

If I could give this place less stars I would. Working in customer service was an absolute nightmare. Any employee who tells you otherwise is blatantly lying unless they enjoy micromanaging, call after call, poor training, being overworked and under compensated, etc etc. Being let go from this job was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was immediately hired down the street at another lab and received $2 more per hour and the environment there was 100% better and LESS stress.

You over work your technicians, the turnover rate is ridiculous for technicians in these departments because of how badly you treat them. They quit right after orientation it s so bad. These lab are under staffed and workers are exhausted from overworking. Some technicians work 120 hours a week. Your HR is unqualified and they do not do their job. I ve had two members who have worked for them and I saw harassment, over stressed, over worked and emotional traumatized. The HR doesn t do anything about it. Some technicians have to work extra because of under staffing. This place is hell.

As a physician on the other side of the country, I had a great experience with their service in getting the results of a patient when my own hospital could not. The woman was extremely helpful and helped in my patient care.

Most unprofessional customer service experience I have ever had in my life!!! I even requested to talk to a Supervisor by the name of James and he was even worse!!! Talk about a condescending prick!!! They gave me the run around and have also given inaccurate information. If I ever go to a doctor and they use Arup Laboratories I will not see them! Thanks guys for the horrible experience!

Quality testing and very fast to get results. Huge test menu too. I guess all that automation really speeds things up. There have been hiccups with my testing but they have the best customer service of any lab and they're always improving. Highly recommend

I have been an employee for ARUP Laboratories for over 16 years. They are a very well run business/laboratory and they strive to meet everyone's needs in sample testing and customer service. I work with some very amazing people here and they work so well with me. The benefits here are top notch along with quarterly incentives. It has been neat to watch ARUP grow so much in the past 16 years with more future growth. This company has taken very good care of me and my family over the years. Thanks ARUP!

makes me wonder about quality of work, where mayo clinic labs would take up to three weeks for same test, mine was returned in one or two days, in the case of this lab,,,where even employees are disgruntled? charged for work, but not done, possibly? not sure what to believe? Poudre Valley Hospital system is notorious for charging insurance and patients, but not having work done or sending to very sub standard labs! particularly, when the hospital... or agencies for the hospital... can see patient is on disability or social security with starvation unearned income, and insurance through Medicaid Medicare wont pay pr will only pay small portion. thanks again
Obama care!

Highly recommend! Excellent, solid company that s still growing. Amazing benefits. They match and exceed your contributions towards retirement and continues to help you if you leave. Medical insurance is the best I ve had. Onsite free clinic for you and your family, with good doctors I can trust with my kids. It s not like an after hours place. Receptionist are warm and helpful.

Intelligent, fun people to work for.
For a large company, they have a small company feel - every person matters. Their mission statement includes every test matters, but that s because they have the mentality and commitment to every person behind the test.

Management bends over backwards for you if you work hard and apply yourself. Although I was let go from this company, they did everything they could to work with me and help me improve. The position was simply not a good fit. (3 years later I m still friends with some of the people I worked with.)

Stay far away from this company. Lots of conflicts of interest associated between management and subordinates, unrealistic productivity expectations for technicians (you have no rights) and Human Resources is absolutely, positively useless -- they will undermine your voice and experiences if they challenge the company. Never have I in my entire adult life had experiences amounting to bullying by my peers and my employers or Human Resources. It is with great happiness that I report that, after having left this company, my only regret was leaving sooner. I am paid accordingly in proportion to the difficulty and volume of work that I produce; I have a relationship with my supervisors and upper-management and best of all: they actually listen -- they do not challenge or disbelieve you when you posit them with problems. This company has high suicide rates as well as overdose. Need I say more? Checkout the washrooms as they contain many posters offering mental help with EAP. I could go on and on in terms of the lascivious misconduct that the company seems to endorse, but I believe my words suffice. Stay away if you value meritocracy over cronyism or nepotism.

Poor hiring experience. HR and hiring panels don't know what each other wants. They leave you hanging with no response on status of a position after doing multiple interviews unless you call them. Hiring panel are typically millenials who hire based off cultural fit despite candidates having more medical familiarity and experience than these kids. They simply suggest other positions based on interest although those positions are completely unrelated to a candidate's interests, thus revealing this hiring panel's ignorance as well as a true reasoning for rejection outside of "cultural fit". Waste of time to be given the run around.

I am a physician employed by the University of Utah. I do not recommend going to a University of Utah lab for any blood work that is urgent. I had two blood draws at different locations (Farmington and the University hospital). Both were stat labs that needed to be resulted that day. For the first blood draw that was done at 7:15 am, when my doctor's office told me that no results had been sent to them by about 4 pm, I became nervous and called the lab at Farmington. They were extremely unhelpful and transferred me to 3 different people who could not tell me when the results would be back. After an hour of this, I was told to call ARUP directly which I did. The ARUP representative was extremely rude and would not tell me when the labs would be back. They said our dr's office would need to call. My dr's office called and after giving them a hard time said the results would be in the next morning. The next morning they said the labs would be back that afternoon. This went on for 4 days, when the labs were ultimately resulted. This is absolutely inexcusable. I am a physician and often call a lab to see when a patient's labs will be resulted, and have never encountered something like this. I stupidly thought that having the labs done at the University hospital would go better but it was just as bad.

Very dishonest company. They'll claim to be in-network so that doctors will send them blood samples. But they ignore the contracted rates from insurance companies and just charge whatever they want, usually 5-10 times the national average.
