We couldn't even get checked in, weren't acknowledged. They made my husband sit there in severe pain while one of the front desk lady was rude, wasn't helping anyone and refused to help. We left and are going to LRMC.
The experience yesterday was outstanding! Everyone was so nice and I was impressed with all of the checks and double-checks.
Would have given ZERO if I could have.
My mom was inpatient for 10 days for double pneumonia & COPD exacerbation. She was ignored on the ACU floor until she was literally almost dead. They discharged her 99% worse than she was on admission & we had to call an ambulance to take her to another hospital. She is now in ICU clinging to life.
What kind of medical facility discharges someone in that condition?

What a great experience! I took my wife to this ER for abdominal pain and could not have received better care. They found the problem and did Emergency surgery. Thank God for the great nurses and doctors that made our visit the best I've ever had anywhere. Went here the other day. They told me my 5 month old son had a cold when he really had pnemonia. He has a fever, can barely breathe and a bad cough. All they did was send us home.

This is the hospital that I used for 13 years to do my mammogram and staff is always professional and very polite. The staff in admission are very nice and very cooperative.

I used to believe that Bartow was not a great hospital, but my recent experience has proven otherwise. This experience has been wonderful, given that they handled my very bad infection with ease, comfort, and speed, while also maintaining quality. I will definitely be visiting again, given that I need medical assistance in the future, before driving to Lakeland Regional. Thank you guys for listening and providing amazing results.
Here TWO HOURS and counting for an ankle injury.....Noone can tell me anything about the x-rays...TWO HOURS and IM STILL HERE for what seems to be an ankle sprain. This will NOT be my hospital of choice EVER AGAIN!
Call center lady was extremely rude!
I had a work related incident and needed to be seen fir blood work. My job gave me a number to contact. I didn t know it was to a call center until the lady answered and was completely rude and non resourceful.
Amazing staff nurses and doctors. Front desk people are always rude and judgemental. The dr I have always dealt twitch in emergency room is named Jim James or James Jim. He is incredible

This is a hospital? Only a few kids work here. You also better have health insurance or else they won't treat you in anyway which is illegal. Tylenol for $1500 is not a solution to anything. The Jersey lady who pushed the money medical computer is very rude. Every mannerism about her is wrong. For 2 min I was surrounded by smelly tattooed kids who just stared at me. Told me I need insurance. Also BayCare is not health insurance. It's a racket for panhandling. Private for profit morgue.
Would have given half a star but that wasn't an option we come here to have a faster in and out time as it was supposed to be so much faster than Lakeland my fiancee had been bitten by a spider and people who came after us went before us. They pick and choose who is important and who can wait and that is just not right unlike Lakeland they decide who gets treated and who sits to suffer. Lakeland regional may have waits sometimes but from now on we will be going there I don't care if it's farther because at least they go by when u came in and not who is more important. Every hospital will take u depending on the severity but clearly they need to either do more, expand, or shut down this hospital sucks. I have had good experiences but more than good I have had bad. Malpractice is common here I was also told my baby was not alive when I came because I was pregnant and having some issues and after I was sent to have a d & c done I find out my fetus was alive she is now 5 months old. I should have sued for emotional distress and malpractice. Don't waste ur time and money here go to LAKELAND REGIONAL OR WINTER HAVEN!!! Some of the staff I love and I wish they were at Lakeland because they are awesome but the quality of this hospital is no good.

What place on gods green earth will physically not let you with one child in for treatment bc you refuse to leave your second child, (a twelve year older daughter) in the car of a dimly lit parking lot at 830 at night. I only gave it one star because a negative number is not an option.
I recently tried to get an MRI, but due to a complication that the staff found, was unable to complete. They worked very hard to atttian med records, from other facilaties, for my safety and found another location within 30 min that was able to complete the task. So kudos to the MRI RADIOLOGY DEPT. I discharged my self after this night at 4am.
I am missing 75% of my left adrenal gland, their CT scan said it was normal in size.
My sodium level was low and my potassium level was high.
I was complaining LOUDLY about SEVERE pain in the area of my adrenal gland.
I checked into the ER explaining I had kidney issues and where my pain was at 11pm
Bartow Regional Medical Center told me I needed to drink more water and THAT would solve all my issues.
Lets not even talk about the non-existent level of professionalism the ER staff showed!

I dropped my wife off at ER and went and parked the car-when I got to ER the guard wouldn't let me in, but I saw my wife still standing at desk, one lady had a person in chair, the other was on the computer, not saying anything to my wife-I yelled thru the glass that she was having CHEST PAIN, and should be seen immediately-it was then that the girl at computer called to the back and a nurse came out and walked my wife to the back, and I was allowed in to complete registration-this was at 4:30 AM on the 3rd of June. I had been a Respiratory Therapist for over 40 years experience, before my heart disability, and had to retire-but I know that CHEST PAIN is a critical COMPLAINT and had the girl bothered to ask her what was her problem, instead of looking at computer screen, playing games, or who knows? My wife would have been taken care of a lot sooner
The dr seemed in a rush and no bed side manor at all. I will find somewhere else to go next time. I had to ask the nurse what was my diagnosis because the dr didn t even tell me. He was in my room for like 2 minutes ( not exaggerating.) I had bad mouth pain he poked around my mouth with a tongue suppressor and I started to cry he didn t even say sorry or anything just kept going. Will not be back again!
I had a surgery, outpatient, on the 12th of June 2019. Jennifer, my nurse and Jose the Tech, were excellent in there care and attention to detail prepping me for my procedure. Great job and thanks again to you both and keep up the great work.

Was not provided case number. Unable to track wife's process through surgery. Told to call 4519 which I did... was hung up on... Volunteer offered to help. She called 4519 and received the following response.. "we're to busy, call back" really!!! That's BS!! So nonprofessional and lack of respect for it's patients and family members...

My father was recently hospitalized here and everyone involved with his care, from his intake in the ER to his discharge into hospice care, was absolutely wonderful to him. I would attempt to provide names except I'm afraid of leaving someone out because he was hospitalized for awhile, several individuals were involved in his care, and I don't want to overlook a single one of you. But, you can rest assured we appreciate the care and compassion given very much! For instance , when my father's dementia got the best of him and he became disoriented, confused and combative, rather than putting him in restraints, this hospital provided a sitter to remain with us 24/7 and help keep him calm. I can't tell you what a blessing this was to me and my family, and we will be forever grateful that you not only took great care of him, but also helped make his stay easier. Thank you!
When my 6 year old daughter got a rather deep cut on her forehead I took her to the closest ER to our house, which was Bartow Medical Center. Check in was quick and efficient and they took me and my daughter right back. The nurses and the PA we saw were very friendly and professional and put me and my daughter at ease. Thankfully, she didn't have to get stitches and they used the skin glue instead. We were in and out in less than an hour.
Bartow medical center seems to push for a more pleasant experience than winter Haven hospital maybe because it's smaller but I always feel much better and get better results here at bartow regional hospital. THANKS EVERYONE...
The doctors at this hospital were rude and didn t show any compassion towards my daughter when she was there. They told her she was probably having a miscarriage and discharged her with no information about it. They didn t seem to know what they were doing and she ended up having to go to another hospital. Very disappointed in this hospital.
I was treated with respect and the care I received was top notch. The person who checked me in was kind and courteous, and the nurses were great! I will definately consider Bartow Regional when I need any future treatment.

My wife was admitted to the ACU unit on 2-16-16. From the moment she was brought to the Er by ambulance until she was discharged on 2-20-16 everyone was professional and courteous, You could plainly see that all of the staff were truly concerned and willing to do what ever possible to make her stay as comfortable as possible. The few times needed in our lives we have always went to LRMC and always have had issues with rude nurses or staff. This was not the case at Bartow, The staff there is amazing and a pleasure to be around all the way down to the doctor that had nothing to do with my wife that asked me how she was doing and showed genuine concern for her health while in the elevator. Not that we plan on it but Bartow will be our first and only choice for care if needed.
I would also like to make a special commendation for Abraham who brought the food to my wifes room everyday. He was a very stand up guy that truly cared about his job the patients and their family. All he had to do was drop off and pick up food however he made it a point to ask how my wife was doing and ask if she or anyone needed anything, He was a great guy and should be awarded for his kindness and compassion.
Excellent care. Had me in the room in less than 3 minutes and the doctor saw me within 2 minutes from me being in the room.

The staff here at Bartow Regional Medial Center are wonderful friendly people. I only ran into one person that was not too nice and that was only cause the pushed onmy tender stomach (just doing their job but made me cry). Being Thanksgiving if I had to be in the hospital it would be this one. where the staff is nice not only to the sick but the other people here being each other, staff, techs, visitors, and etc... I over heard nurse offering food to someone who was visiting their floor if they wanted to eat with them and not in cafeteria for Thanksgiving. Even during transport people would say hello to each other and ask how you doing in passing in halls.
Going through town and broke a finger, as a new patient I was in and out in under an hour. Staff was very nice, helpful and went above. Hope you don't need an ER but if you do, I'd recommend Bartow Regional.

I was treated very professional and quickly. I was very pleased with the service I received.
Admission was quick. Dani (my nurse) and my patient care tech (whose name I forgot) were highly professional and very pleasant. Doctor had an excellent bedside manner, she was very efficient, and my condition was resolved within 24 hours.
I so wish I could give five stars, Dr. Curry and the team made my surgery a breeze, very professional and great bedside manners. But my issue is that four weeks before my surgery I received a phone call giving me the price for the surgery, instead of asking if I wanted to apply for financial aid she immediately asked for a credit or debit card, I work 45+ hours a week, I was sick and extremely tired so I gave her a card number for half she immediately told me I needed to pay the whole amount tomorrow! As I thought about it, it just seemed wrong! I called back to have it refunded and that I wanted to apply for financial aid, bearing in mind it was FOUR WEEKS BEFORE THE SURGERY, I should be given a refund as the service has not been rendered and the lady never offered and pushed for a payment now, I was told that I could receive a refund as long as it wasn't after twenty four hours, it wasn't!!! And they refused to refund me!! After being told I could have a refund and sent me over to the billing department to have them "refund" me, well here we are FOUR WEEKS LATER!! AND NO REFUND every single person I have talked to in billing has promised a refund in a week and yet I dont see a dime!! I'm so very annoyed, I have responsibilities and sometimes i am the only income for my family, talking money that doesn't belong to you is just wrong, y'all have seriously crippled me financially!! And I call bull about waiting to receive my financial aid letter because I have mine and yes it's in your system too!! Just give me back my money seriously!

Today was my first time at BRMC. I walked into the ER and was immediately asked to the admissions window. Within 5 minutes, all paperwork was completed and an aide was waiting with a wheelchair to take me to a room. All personnel were friendly and professional.
I had two ankle surgeries done at Bartow Regional Medical Center and both were unsuccessful. My insurance paid almost $25,000 I am receiving bills to pay my deductible. I have written to Baycare explaining that I am a full time Student who is struggling to pay for what my insurance did not cover. I still need to have another one done to correct my ankle problem. I have missed time off from work. Baycare has excused approximately $500 off of my bill but are they are still requiring that I pay $1,200. This is money I wouldn t mind paying if my surgeries had been successful. The $1,200 I have to pay is money I should be able to use toward a successful surgery. I will say although all of this occurred, my nurses and doctors were amazing.

Nurses Deena, Amanda and Charles were great. I was registered, took to my room and triaged within minutes. Dr. Smith came in shortly after and listened to my concern and ordered what was needed. It wasn't long after that I was took for a cat scan and had my results within no time. I would recommend Bartow ED to anyone.
My son busted his head open late one night and we went to bartow and were in and out of there in less than 30 mins. The complete staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful.
I ve heard nothing but horrible things about this hospital, and have always driven to Lakeland regional when in situations where an ER visit was needed. This changed when my toddler had a 105 fever, and i didn t want to risk the longer commute to Lakeland. I was impressed with the friendly staff here. Everyone was so nice and made my 3 year old feel comfortable with lots of cute jokes, games, and kid friendly personalities. Every time the staff interacted with my son they made sure that he was comfortable and laughing. It really made all the difference. George, the X-ray tech was friendly and kind. We had a good conversation about the Tampa lightning, and made sure to say goodbye to us as we were heading out. He spent a good amount of time with my son talking about different kinds of fish. Jim Bittner made fun jokes with my son when checking his temperatures, asking if he was hiding kittens in his ears. He shared random information that i would have never considered, such as throwing away toothbrushes after 3 days to avoid reinfection, and additional small details that i would have never thought of. Ana and Theresa were very calming and reassuring, and made sure we understood any procedures, and what to expect once we get home.
Overall the staff is exceptional. Our visit was very short, under 90 minutes which included xrays and flu/strept testing. I am very happy with this ER, and will now avoid the drive to Lakeland when an ER visit is needed
I came in this morning to have my shoulder put back in place. The nurse Caroline and Dr Kleinman were awesome! They popped my shoulder in with no problems and it didn't hurt at all! The service was fast and they kept me updated the entire time! I would definitely come back for any emergency:)
I really wouldn t even give them a one star. My 94-year-old mother was taken here by ambulance after she fainted. She has memory issues and I called to explain this and gave them my phone number if they had questions. ( I do not live near.) No one called me. They sent her home with caregivers even though she was too weak to walk. As soon as she got home, she began vomiting. I called back and talked to charge nurse Danny and she was rude and no help whatsoever. She called in an anti-Nausea medication to a pharmacy that was CLOSED. They would not let me speak to the doctor that she was evaluated by, Dr. Nelson. I would not take your loved one there. I m not sure if they are incompetent or if they just didn t care.
This so called hospital needs to be shut down!!My husband went in there in july 2015 with stmach pain they sent him home with constipation he went to Lakeland regional where they diagnosed him with stage four terminal cancer.

My mom and us was lied to. My mom came from ohio to live with us she got very ill she went to this hospital wasnt the one for a dnr but they talked her into it cause they lied said the sirrohois was killing her and they couldnt do anything and she needed to be on hospice care. Well she came home under ther care of hospice within a few day she became unresponsive and ended up passing away. To our suprise she didnt die from what they said she had a abcess in her adominal cavity which went un treated. This is what killed my mother per death cetificate. This place needs shut down. I keep getting bills from them called them several times to advise them and the billing supervisor thinks its funny actually was laughing on the phone at me then tried to get me make threats to him ect....
The doctors were not attentive and didn t check nothing but my blood when I was having serious abdominal pain and let me go . I had to go to winter haven hospital were I was diagnosed with PCOS . Which your doctors completely didn t look for and missed
Doctors are illiterate and know nothing. They sent my baby home with a temperature of 103 because he didn't check positive for the flu. I told them he must have an ear or throat infection. They checked it and said he was fine my son suffered for 3 days with strep throat because these dummies don't know how to diagnose a 1 year old.
The care was very attentive at first. I was in terrible chest pain and given too little pain medication. Tests were done and not explained before i was rushed and released in pain and no meds to take home.I was scheduled for a dose of pain med and was told it was too late as I was being discharged.I left in terrible pain and i am still miserable. Now weeks to get into another dr while enduring pain. hospitals and doctors should demand authority to keep patients comfortable. while inpatient and outpatient. is everyone to chicken to stand up for their patients and not let government dictate how to treat their patients? Or maybe it is a safe way to lessen patient care with less liability. Who knows more about the medical field, Doctors or politicians? I can't even t go to my family doctor I have seen for years For pain relief anymore. The standard answer is pain management. Ever try to get an appt and medications in a timely manner. Very few are drug addicts as most would believe. What a shame for humanity. Does anyone have the guts to stand up and remember, do no patients harm

BEWARE- look how many 1 star reviews! I was sent there by my PCP for a routine outpatient procedure and lab work but they did it in the ER in order to charge 100X more. I had one lousy blood test that could have been done at Quest and thet sent me out. This place deserves negative stars and the public needs to know. The only option I had was to report them to the insurance company's Fraud & Abuse because BayCare has no way to report your experience in writing. IN RESPONSE TO THEIR COMMENT BELOW: I did follow up and there was no resolution. They did not acknowledge my experience, just emailed and said everything was done correctly. So insurance and I had to pay for ER visit for a blood test.

This place is a huge waste of space. They should go ahead and shut it down. The only problem, then, would be these "doctors" would go to decent hospitals and ruin them. I wouldn't take my dog to this place. We went in because my son's doctor couldn't get him in until the end of the week and he had a real bad in grown toe nail that was keeping him from walking. They sent him home with some Bactroban and a referral to a podiatrist that couldn't see him until the next week. I don't know why i thought they would have gotten any better from the last time i went there 6 years ago.
I wanted to share my experience at Bartow Regional Medical Center. My son came into the ER and needed to have surgery and had to stay as an inpatient. The care from start to finish was fantastic. The staff was compassionate and thoughtful. I am glad we have BRMC taking care of this community.
Worst hospital ever. Four of my family members have had terrible experiences. One was diagnosed with cancer and was given the runaround for three weeks about treatment. One is currently in this hospital. They were served lunch and administered medication and bloodwork without checking for allergies. They were admitted at 11 AM yesterday and the cardiologist did not visit until 9 PM. When Dr. was discussing EKG findings and asking questions it seemed that the goal was to leave the room as quickly as possible. I have zero confidence that this hospital knows what they are doing and have asked my family member to leave and go to any other hospital but this one. I would rather be taken to the vet than be treated here.

I was never a patient i worked here. I was fired for things i never did. First everyone in hospital was told i was fired before i was told i was fired and the people that got me fired did so just so they could get there buddy hired back on. The nurses thought i got him fired When other nurses came up and said he never did this stuff hospital said to bad your fired anyways. Got rid of good employee because liars wanted their buddy hired back on. By the way he quit i had nothing to do with him leaving and when the lying nurses were confronted with the truth they couldnt evan look me in my eyes. I hate liars.
They say that bigger isn't always better and Bartow Regional fits that perfectly. I recently had outpatient surgery and from early check-in with Hazel to surgery day with Jennifer Stewart, Lisa Todd, and Kristin Williams, the staff is phenomenal. We can't thank them enough for the wonderful care I received.

My sister was seen around 2pm & discharged at 9PM.She returned around 2AM & was discharged by 5am. We took her immediately to Lakeland were she WAS in DKA & took the proper steps to help my sister diabetes & her gastro issues. If we would've taken Dr.Oberzophelps diagnosis my sister could have died because of the lack of compassion & laziness of this doctor.
The nurses and staff were amazing, but we had the same scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes for days and the so called " famous pulled pork" was mostly fat. Food service needs an upgrade.
I was over charged for a service. After calling several times and told I was incorrect I involved my insurance carrier. Three phone calls later by my insurance carrier, Bay Care agreed to refund my money. My insurance company referred to Bay Care s actions as fraudulent. Weeks later still no refund for their over charge. I found the financial department to be rude and not knowledgeable my carrier found them to be fraudulent.
Er doctor was very rude and didn t want to hear my needs and why I was there . I won t be coming back here no more for any of me and my family needs . She came in the room told me there was nothing she could do and walked right out . Went back to her desk propped her feet up and continue to eat her bag of snacks she was eating before she came into my room . I have come to Bartow a lot and I never had no doctor treat me in such a manner . I was shocked to her behavior being a medical professional.
A quick and painless trip to the Emergency Room earns my five star award.
Staff was efficient..........Dr. gave a diagnosis in 10 minutes after questioning
me. Given antibiotics, a shot and a prescription and was in and out in less than an hour.

This place and winterhaven are pretty bad.
I'm guessing all hospitals are similar and price, these prices are ridiculous. I was in an accident earlier that day and i had this lady making me fill out paperwork and getting the minimum payment of "$150
" while i was getting treated. I did not mind that much but in general its ridiculous, she did not even ask if it was okay.
I had a surgery scheduled on the same day of it, checked in through admitting (not Emergency) and was in OR recovery a few hours later. Pre-opp group was terrific. Stayed one night and was comfortable. Food manager asked for input of food quality! Overall great and I prefer Bartow Regional over LRMC.
My son had surgery back in June, great experience!!! The nurses, doctors, and facilities were amazing!!! Thank you for such great care!!!
I had surgery scheduled for outpatient. Everyone that came into contact with me was amazing... Kind and attentive from beginning to end. I was a bit nervous because of all of the negative reviews I had read but I had to do it here because of how the scheduling fell... I'm so glad I gave them a chance. Highly recommend.
I went to Bartow Hospital on June 16, 2016 for head injury and I was very disappointed with the Doctor. She didn't check the back of my head where I had my injury . This Dr. Orbezo, Alex M, didn't even let me explained how I got hurt, she contradicted everything what I said. She made me feel that I was laying And that I was making her wasting her time. She disappeared after she finish telling me that she was very busy with others patients.What about me? I wasn't a patient? The nurse was the one who came and tried to fix the mess that Dr. Orbezo leave behind but she also was rude and you can tell that she was making her time to go home. Dr.Orbezo, IN order for you to work with patients, you need to have more than a diploma. You need a heart. You have to love your job. I know because I work with Domestic Violence Victims. I listen . I understand I love what I do. It's a shame to have doctors like Dr. Orbezo. Today I'm home recuperating not from my head injury but for the emotional abuse that I get from this "Dr.
