ARINA SAND RESORT - VITA HOTELS Review

This hotel is negative because of a rip-off. The booked rooms are not allocated, but dirty, old rooms. Only after a complaint can you move into a renovated room in the main building. The facility is very nice, however. The scam was also seen on cable one, "Attention rip-off".

A very nice hotel!
Food is really delicious, always fresh. There is also a lot to choose from. The rooms are clean, the staff very friendly. Our room has top air conditioning.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of algae on the beach (maybe it's the time of year?). But there are plenty of loungers and even double beds on the beach. Everything with umbrellas. The water is wonderfully warm in summer and there are almost tropical winds here.

The view from the beach is nice. Only the arriving and departing planes sometimes "disturb" something.

Transfer from the airport took less than 10 minutes ...

On the whole, I can recommend the hotel, I think it more than deserves the 4 stars in the hotel category!

I was in this structure the week of August. Great hospitality, all very polite and smiling. Spacious rooms with sea views. Phenomenal salt water pool and entertainment not too intrusive.

We have been here since October 18th and feel very comfortable. Even when it was raining in the last two days, everything was done to make the stay as pleasant as possible. We booked the hotel based on the good reviews and were not disappointed. From the room to the food, cleanliness and friendliness, everything was perfect.

Fantastic resort! We stopped in a bungalow which was literally 30ft from the beach,food was fantastic,great location. Definitely recommend it.

Everything was wonderful ! The staff was above expectations, they forced everything to be ok, respecting the social distance ... thank you for that. The food is very good and diverse. The beach is sandy, clean, the bar is right next to the beach. The hotel rooms are renovated and have a pleasant and welcoming look.
I would also recommend renovating the rooms in the buildings next to the hotel, these rooms have a great view, but the facilities are very old.
In a word ... wonderful !!!

Good clean hotel with nice staff. But nothing is going on outside.

A very nice hotel, rooms just right, very nice staff, good food nice pool, right on the beach, bus ride to the next bigger city takes 5-10 minutes. The only drawback: lies in the entry lane of the airport. Arriving planes rush over the hotel. You get used to it on the one hand and the other in the room nothing more to hear. In the morning and in the evening there are airplanes, so in about every 10-20 minutes. If you can handle it, you can recommend the hotel unreservedly!

We were guests at the Arina Beach Hotel from 10th to 17th October 2018. What did we like? First and foremost, the food. We had a large selection of different delicacies every day at lunchtime and in the evening, as well as the range of salads and various other choices (fruit, desserts,
Olives etc.) have done it to us. In the morning you could have an omelette prepared right in front of your eyes and generally the staff went out of their way to make you feel right. Furthermore, the location right on the sea is very nice and the sea itself with a sandy beach, no stones or other things like jellyfish in the water were also great. The view from the room was very nice. Directly on the sea with a large pane and balcony. The room itself is so much, but it fits to sleep. The planes that landed overhead towards Heraklion were not so nice. And that the drinks were served in plastic cups (Crete is generally very littered when you drive around). But we got glasses on request. We rented a car on site, there are smaller "Rent a Car" stations everywhere in the small town. We had a Renault convertible for 2 days = 80 euros. Without deposit and fully comprehensive without excess. Infinite kilometers. So also great. On the whole a nice vacation.

However, the hotel is located in the approach lane from the airport.

Total hotel very nice The food is not very varied and everything included is just a drink for all day and only until 23.30 at night

Pleasant modern renovated hotel by a beautiful long sandy beach (on which, however, seaweeds are washed away) and fine Greek cuisine. They cooked gyros well, sometimes lamb, and other meats and grilled vegetables, the fish were worse - dull and drier, the seafood was almost never (except for saganaki from mini prawns) - they simply saved a little in the kitchen. There was plenty of fruit.
Waiters sometimes do not manage to serve counters (measures due to Covid) and distribute food to people and form queues.
Drinks included in the all-inclusive price are made from local alcohol and average. You can rent a car directly at the hotel, bus stop right in front of the hotel (runs every hour or two). The rooms are new, clean, design. Cleaning was to be done every other day, which unfortunately happened irregularly.
Unfortunately, the kitchen does not indicate allergens in the description of the food and the staff is not instructed, so I had trouble finding desserts, which do not contain my peanut allergen, especially for desserts, which were almost all of them. Baklava without peanuts is probably more expensive.
Pools clean, sunbeds by the pool and on the beach included and there were plenty of them. A couple of fish in the sea while snorkeling. The hotel also offers a nice water slide.

PARADISE !!! HOLIDAYS FROM CAPOGIRO NOTHING IS THE PAST SOME YEARS .... BUT YOU WILL COME BACK, IF YOU COULD ALSO LIVE IN YOU!

Each and every member of staff...from the gardener..right up through to reception. Always helpful. Lovely place to spend time at. Only had a week...food amazing. Lots of choice. Views....sunrise/sunset. Never have taken so many pictures. Going back in October for a cheeky week away....room 5005 please xxxxx

Very nice also for children very good recreational opportunities we come against whom there is something to complain about, then this is faulty at the highest level.

Very nice facility with possible potential upwards. The location is appealing, without a big something around it, suitable for relaxing, blessed with good food, nice service staff and a sprawling beach. Who appreciates the situation and organizes a few excursions, is in good hands here. Singles or families with small children might be better off elsewhere.

To rest absolutely perfect. Great food. Spacious rooms, all with sea view .. Very clean and well-kept area .. Very nice sea, that is right on the doorstep .. gently sloping .. without stones. Beach chairs and umbrellas available at any time and also free of charge !!

Very good place for families with children. Rooms are ok (at least our). Food and drinks good too. Close location to Iraklion gives opportunity within minutes reach many restaurants, historical landmarks and shops. Evenings may appear a little it boring, so think about your favourite table game (playing cards etc.). We enjoyed our time here and added Crete to our beautiful memories.

The hotel is well located in the middle of the island. This gives you relatively short distances to the east and west. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, the main restaurant and the other ... During the day it serves as a snack restaurant for the people at the beach and pool and in the evening there is Asian cuisine as a theme restaurant. Many of the former guests praise the food, some even in the highest tones, there is a certain expectation from the start. The hotel could not live up to this expectation. In my opinion, the chefs can show how well you can season food in Greece. It tastes a lot more like nothing here. Please be more courageous when seasoning, show yourselves, show your identity! Otherwise the food is very good and varied. The drinks, like the food, are also available through self-service. Among other things, you can let water, various wines and beer out of a dispenser.

By the way: the staff is always friendly and courteous!

There is a small shop with souvenirs, drinks, snacks, everyday items, etc. You can argue about the price. Chips cost 2.40, Haribo 2.20. Thus, in contrast to Germany, the articles are very expensive. But that seems to be the case in general, no matter where you want to buy snacks.

You can book a rental car directly in the hotel or with the tour guide (in my case ThomasCook). The prices are okay. Alternatively, a bus to Hiraklion or Malia runs nearby. To Hiraklion the ticket cost 2, to Malia 2.50. The journey takes about 30 minutes each. Oh yes of course you can also use a taxi.

The ocean view room was old, but okay.
There is an air conditioning with remote control, a safe, a TV, a small refrigerator, soap dispenser at the sink and by the bathtub, and a hair dryer. The bathroom was missing and a socket. For example for the electronic toothbrush. This was then simply loaded by us in the living room. There is a TV with satellite channels for people who need something like this in the hotel. The view of the sea was great.

Many holidaymakers reserve the loungers with their towels in the morning and then don't show up for half the day. This is accepted by the hotel. Pity!
But what really bothered me were the many algae, not those in the water but the "mountains" on half the beach in front of the hotel.

The gym is quite nice. But don't expect too much. I've only been there once to train and preferred to go running in the morning. There were treadmills, back trainers, ab trainers, various weights, one device for the chest and one for the thighs.

There is also a playroom. There are various devices for the entertainment of children and adults, but it is not free. For example, billiards costs 2 per game. The punching bag can be processed for one euro, if you want to "box" against another, it is 2 here too, and everyone can hit twice. Then there are 2 shooter games, 2 motorcycle and 2 car simulators as well as basketball machines and a pinball machine, etc.

All in all, the hotel is very good, it is centrally located, the food is fresh and of high quality, the beach is right by the hotel, it doesn't get boring.

A nice hotel for "everyone". I think 4 stars is definitely worth it.

EDIT: The hotel is of course right, the algae in the water are very important and also an indicator that the flora in the water is still intact! They are also important for the climate and as food for the fish. So I have adjusted the text a bit. Yesterday evening after about 1 hour of thinking, I didn't feel like writing anymore on my smartphone with Greek music and wine in the hotel and saved the text as it was. To read again today and revise if necessary. I honestly did not expect such a quick reaction from the hotel. That definitely speaks for the hotel ;-)

Hotel 4 stars. Beautiful modern hotel. The main building, three buildings on three floors and bungalows. Two pools, a private beach, 4 restaurants.

Pleasant hotel, good food, sandy beach and if you do not mind landing land, I recommend it!

Nice hotel, clean, pleasant staff. Plant not too big. Animation team not pushy, almost always something to do. It's more for Italians, but also English and a little German is spoken. The pool is unfortunately a salt water pool. There are always enough loungers available.
Music by the pool is great and there is something for everyone. But the plant could do with a little more green.
Food is very good and plentiful, in the evening there is a themed buffet which is very pleasant. The drinks are good and there are enough. The sea is practically at your feet and is about 5 meters away.
The evening shows are well thought out and nicely done, don't last too long.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time. Since 2018, the main building has been completely renovated to the advantage, bungalows are still in their old condition. Pool restaurant was renamed to the disadvantage in Asia Food Restaurant, which had nothing to do with Asian food and could only be visited after reservation and has unfortunately become much worse. Otherwise good hotel for a good price.
P.S despite all inclusive you only get 1 bottle of water in your room for the whole time, you have to get the rest yourself

Awesome vacation, great staff and a huge selection of food. I would love to come back.

We had a room in the annex. Downside was that you had to cross the road to get there, but it was along with that is the middle of October, a quiet place in the resort. The pool bar at the annex was closed, so there was nobody at the pool, so it was wonderful. Food was OK, not to write home about. Extensive choice. The room was clean and spacious enough, lovely shower and sea when the (large) balcony stood on your toes, our room was on the first floor.

Nice place to relax and enjoy... Not a 4 stars hotel as advertised, but the service and the staff are Amazing.

Perfect holiday, very clean hotel with well-kept Anlage.Die rooms are very large with TV and quiet air conditioning, without further luxury but you do not need the beach holiday. Beach very clean, friendly and courteous staff, great food, no food at the food, very relaxed atmosphere, enough beach chairs and umbrellas available. Beds and patio furniture new, no lagging at the beach bar. With all the positive you forget the aircraft noise, as has at least something to look at.
After Heraklion one is also very fast by bus for 2 .

I paid for a ocean view room and it was expensive. What I got was a dirty room with a lot of dust, spider webs and black mold in the shower. I spent 4 hours in the reception so they could solve the problem THEY created and the answer I got was that they couldn't do anything about it, only in the next day. The manager and the receptionist were arrongant and rude to us (the clients). I put the photos in here and as you can see, if you search the rooms in their site, they aren't the same and I paid for the rooms in the website

Some of the rooms are getting old, food is unfortunately not very Greek, wine is bodily harm. For this very great staff, great area, super clean pool and lovely evening program

Comfortable structure, shame about the very slow general service ... nothing to say about the Italian animation provided by Eden Village, all friendly kind guys who follow you throughout your holiday with games, walks, chat and sympathy, always have a greeting for everyone and what about the always very exciting organized shows .... Arina Beach Resort, a comfortable, modern, well run hotel with additional bungalows and apartments. Beach situated close to Heraklion, with a large, clean swimming pool, children's pool and spa.

Good hotel. Common area and super Restaurant. Light but nice animation and mini disco every night for info. Only downside, the rooms deserve a renovation.

This was our first visit there and we would recommend it. The staff are excellent and friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome. We stayed in one of the beach side bungalows which although clean and adequate was beginning to look a little tired and could definitely do with some extra drawer units but was excellent for the beach and if you have children. The pool area is first class and has a large children's pool also. The food is very good and varied and there is also an al a carte restaurant. The beach is long and clean with plenty of sunbeds. The bus to Herakleion is frequent and stops outside the hotel it costs 2 euros and has some wonderful heritage well worth exploring. We are already looking forward to our next visit here.

I didn't mind that a plane says hello from time to time. The equipment and the outdoor area are very well maintained.
The staff is exemplary and friendly. The pantry is well stocked and there is no shortage of drinks of any kind.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. We lived in the main building on the third floor. The territory is clean and well-groomed, the food is excellent. The sea is a little rough, the beach is not entirely clean .. The place "red honey" itself is boring, there is nowhere to go. There is a stop near the hotel, you can go anywhere. There is a Russian speaking girl at the reception at the hotel. Helps in everything. Very friendly.

The room we were in was definitely not worthy of a 4 star rating. The rest of the resort is however well kept, clean and good looking. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful.

A great hotel. Located directly on the sea. The food is very varied and lonely top.

In times of pandemic, I felt safe here. Good food with some changes from one day to the next, very good tzatziki and desserts of your choice. Fruits, grains, etc., are all found!
The rules are followed, disinfectant is everywhere (hall, reception, at each elevator, bar, etc.) and staff disinfect each table after it is released.
The resort is a bit deserted and there is not much to do in the area. Only if you rent a car can you go to the aquarium, other beaches, or the rest of the island. Fortunately, the hotel has everything and even children will be happy: aqua park for children and adults, spa, games room, mini market and snack bar.
Exit to the beach is directly from the hotel and the bar is carefully placed next to the beach.
The drinks are not great considering that it is an all inclusive hotel but the beer is fixed (table). Juices should be avoided as they all appear to be made from concentrate (including fruit juices).

Nice pools, very good food and a great beach location, depending on the wind, with waves and a long flat entry. The apartments on the beach are not 4 , but 3 but clean and functional. The rest of the complex is absolutely TOP, Rather 4 Superior than 4 (therefore also 5 in my rating) as indicated. Everything makes a very well-kept and mostly very new impression. Food in buffet form is only served directly by the waiter at the buffet during Corona times. TOP selection and very tasty. Exemplary. The animators (especially Kiki & Alex) were very nice, unobtrusive and just to feel good. Recommended in any case ;-)

Super nice family complex: everything that makes a holiday mega!

Very good location. A good sandy beach, close to the hotel, that is, from the room to the beach, make it between 15 seconds and 2 minutes, depending on where you are staying. Very nice swimming pool, different depths, warm water, clean. Good food, not at a restaurant with Michelin stars, but very good. Drink okay. Good rooms. Per total satisfied. The only inconvenience is that the hotel is in a lifeless area, that is to say, between cities, this is not a problem, because it takes about 15 minutes by bus to the center of Heraklionilui, but if you want to walk somewhere you do not have a place. In any case, an experience ok.

The hotel is very modern, inviting and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Despite the current special situation, you felt that you were in good hands.
The food is a special highlight - there is a lot for every taste - whether fish or meat (prepared in front of the guests) or delicious fresh salads.

A very nice personal kitchen place I will definitely go again

We arrived on the last day of vacation, beautiful experience, very good food and varied very serious and kind staff. Fantastic entertainment, they cheered us with their sympathy throughout the holiday. Excellent assistance! We suggest.

Good hotel ! Honest 4 stars! I live in a bungalow, I did not see the rooms in the building. There are some minor cons on the number, in general, everything is very good for Crete. The room in the bungalow is a separate entrance, its own terrace with sun loungers, etc. The room has a fridge, safe, flat-screen TV, one large bed, 1 small, bed for a child, a bed, air conditioning. All rooms have sea views. From the bungalow to the sea 30m. The staff works on 5 balls, drinks and good quality alcohol. Meals in the restaurant, with the exception of breakfast, varied, every day are the cuisines of different countries. There are playrooms for children and a mini club. The animation is not intrusive, but fun. In general, the solid four, and even with a big plus. For me, a minus is a pool with sea water, the sea has enough salt, and then there's a pool. but these are test tubes in general the hotel is wonderful. Forgot about the beach is sand, a smooth entrance to the sea, a little wave. With children great!

Fantastic place, helpful until the last, more than helpful staff, fantastic cleanliness.

Right at the beginning: the hotel is more like 3.5 stars, than 4 - many things are rather below average, starting with our hotel room (double room). I'm not really a pingelinger, but I just expected more for 1000 p.P. for 1 week. To our room: it seems more like a camping bungalow, the cleanliness was rather not so good: Erdplatz in front of the terrace without greening, mold in the bathroom, dirt on the floor at the bedside table (see photos). The shower head has probably a saving function, it comes a little bit of water -> wash hair takes ...
The plant itself is ok. 1 pool with sea water, beautiful beach with beach chairs and umbrellas (free), algae are not regularly removed, the beach is in places very crowded with it.
The so-called "shuttle bus" does not belong to the hotel, but is a normal bus line of public transport, which happens to be in front of the hotel.
Now for dinner: on our first day we just took what looked good. That was obviously not the right approach. Unfortunately a lot of food tasted weird and did not taste good. For example:
