My experience of Arc of Monroe's 'service coordinators' has proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that thay are the female counterpart of the same county's 'peace officers': in short, ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY.
Their psychiatrist is literally a Nazi.
Only their therapist, Johnny Sparrow, has been the best therapist I've worked with.
And Missy at the front desk is more knowledgeable and caring than the whole Service Coordination department combined.
But if you aren't a rabid leftist, Arc of Monroe County will be mostly hell for you.

Went for a interview and was discriminated against due to my trans status. More than qualified, I applied for placement. I arrived 15 minutes early. I was misgendered immediately. When I corrected the receptionist, she smacked her teeth and told me I needed to fill the application form out. I did so even though I filled it out and had my resume ready. I was then sat in a hallway where I was misgendered several more times for 40 minutes. I was interviewed by a lady who did not seem keen on my presence for 5 minutes. Then was told that there were no available openings for my specified shifts. Ridiculous!!

To all of the staff, thank you so much for taking such good care of my sister - especially the Middle Road home! Thank you for keeping her happy, healthy, and safe during this scary time.

I've been looking for a job for a year, so I decided to walk in the ARC on their open interview held on Tuesday. I have a school administrator background but also have a master's degree in counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology. I thought I'd be a good catch for the ARC. Boy was I wrong. The person who met with me appearantly didn't think I was qualified to work with their population although all of my work has been done with special needs students, including my discretion. I assume she felt she was helping me by telling me to apply to different local charter schools. I felt angry, hurt, and completely demeaned after leaving her office. Clearly she didn't want me to work at her agency. Did I mention, I'm African American.
