I've been looking for a job for a year, so I decided to walk in the ARC on their open interview held on Tuesday. I have a school administrator background but also have a master's degree in counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology. I thought I'd be a good catch for the ARC. Boy was I wrong. The person who met with me appearantly didn't think I was qualified to work with their population although all of my work has been done with special needs students, including my discretion. I assume she felt she was helping me by telling me to apply to different local charter schools. I felt angry, hurt, and completely demeaned after leaving her office. Clearly she didn't want me to work at her agency. Did I mention, I'm African American.
