I have to say that Aquatopia was the Best water park we have stayed at so far!! My family and I were very happy. Hotel is very clean and comfortable and the Water park was very clean! The water slides were so much fun. This will be our 3rd time there.

It is a lot of fun for a family. Fairly laid-back. Make sure you buy tickets online and a few days in advance if you are not staying at the resort. They only have a limited number of walk-ins a day

My family vacationed at Camelback last season. It took me half a year to write this review. This is why. We were in the lazy river, the dark, over crowded lazy river, when a young child (3 or 4) floated by face up underwater. 2 seconds of shock later, my husband grabbed the child and tried to give him to a lifeguard. The lifeguard did nothing. Nothing at all. My husband ran to get help. It was awful. We hope and pray the little boy made it ok. We don't know. Camelback has not been responsive to our inquires. Our family loves to ski, board and play in the water, but we won't go back to Camelback. I urge you to look for a resort with integrity where safety is valued and human life respected.

Aquatopia was all fun at first BEFORE my boyfriend got injured due to a lifeguard's poor disbatch call on one of the rides at Kartrites Quest. There are three slides in which this one lifeguard has to overlook meaning this one lifeguard is trying to keep track of all the riders that go on and off the three slides. My boyfriend who was still inside one of the slides at Kartrites Quest was hit in the back by another guest that has been dispatched into the slide a little too early due to the lifeguard's poor supervision of the three slides and its riders. We wanted an apology, but the lifeguard's only response? "I didn't see him on the slide! Was he stuck coming down?" First of all, even if you were stationed to watch over multiple slides, it should NOT give you an excuse to do a poor job in keeping track of all the guests who get on and off the slides. If my boyfriend or God forbid someone else gets seriously injured, is that going to be the only response and reaction we get from the lifeguard? Second, I don't blame the lifeguard for being stationed to watch over multiple slides at once which is definitely a poor execution of plans by the waterpark itself. IF YOU NEED MORE LIFEGUARDS TO WATCH OVER THE SLIDES THEN HIRE MORE LIFEGUARDS! Third, this lady came to us at one point (I'm not too certain of what her role is at the waterpark...), and tried to calm down the situation by telling me not to be too "hostile" to the lifeguard because accidents happen. That is an UNACCEPTABLE form of apology by claiming that my boyfriend's injury was an accident that could have happened to anyone... And telling me not to be too hostile? Do you expect your guests to stay calm when they paid admission fee to have a day of fun at the waterpark all to be ruined by a "simple" mistake made by the lifeguard? To make matters worse, they tried to brush off the whole accident with just a bag of ice. My boyfriend and I ended up sitting on one of the beach chairs for 3 hours unable to go on any rides because of his injured back. And all during those 3 hours, NO ONE came by to ask how he was doing.

How can I remain calm in this situation? No refunds, no formal apology, lifeguard arguing back to guests regarding a mistake that he has clearly made, woman telling me not to be too hostile to the lifeguard for his poor supervision, poor training of lifeguards by having one lifeguard overlook 3 different slides, poor execution of how to deal with injuries and accidents.

Yes, accidents may happen but this accident could have been AVOIDABLE if the lifeguard did a double look on all the slides before mindlessly letting the next group of people on the slides. Highly disappointed on all levels.

This place is amazing. Great for the family... big enough, with many things to do, so there are minimal lines on slides and plenty of room to have fun for both adults and kids. The views are amazing and all kinds of things to do outside the resort.

So many different water pools for kids of all ages. Loved the lazy river, the wave pool, and the splash lagoon. So many sights and lights to make the kids eyes light up. Rooms are wonderful as well. Great views of the mountains.

This water park imo is the best out of the 3 I visited in that area. 4 stars as the day I went there half of the slides and lazy river was shut down and they did not have it fixed until my second day.

I'll preface this by saying this is a really fun place to visit. However, we noticed quite a few major flaws. First, as Camelbeach season pass holders, one of the "perks" is the opportunity to visit Aquatopia for a day for $19.99 instead of paying for a lodge stay.

Well, we called to find out about when we could use this perk and we were told "We're open 10 to 10 every day -you can use it any day except for a weekend. Okay, so we went to go last Thursday and called that morning and we were told "Sorry, we are closed today for cleaning". There was nothing at all on the facebook page; nothing on the website ANYWHERE about a black out date! Good thing we didn't drive all the way there!

So we finally got there today. It was quite crowded which would have been fine, except that early afternoon, two major rides "broke down". The "water stopped" . The attendants didn't have any other information - since this was the water coaster and Venus Fly Trap, the most popular rides, this was a major bummer! This made the other slides all the more crowded, but the lines were not terrible. In our years going go Camel beach all summer, we have never seen multiple rides just "go down" at once. And we have never, ever seen one of their major slides, let alone two, go down for the entire day. It's just never happened.

The other situation that really surprised me was the lack of life guards. There were slides that were all but "self serve" where there was no attendant at the top monitoring when people were going. This was really surprising, as Camel beach is very well staffed. But the worst, was the lack of lifeguard supervision in the river. The river is not a "lazy river" like Camel beach, but rather has a fairly fast current. At Camel Beach you MUST be in a tube. If you are not, the guards will ask you to get one. Not so in this river. It twists and turns through dark tunnels and many MANY young children were swimming in the current with no tubes at all, anywhere in sight. And no parents. This might be okay if there were lifeguards, but there were long stretches where the water was not visible to the lifeguard stations. A young child can drown in the shallow end of a swimming pool; how much easier in a dimly lit tunnel full of inner tubes and a fast current? Compared to Camel Beach, safety was really lax at this facility, which is surprising since it is all part of the same facility.

That being said, this is a great place to visit for families. It's very similar to Great Wolf, but I think a little better for older children. If the two best rides had not been broken down, we would have rated it above Great Wolf. But since we were only there on a day pass (we still spent $80 to get our family in), to have the two best rides down for the entire day (the staff said they would be broken until tomorrow) was really a bummer.

Cons

Cons
Many slides closed. One slide the sections were very painful on back. Like most indoor water parks, COLD (to me).

Pros
Well a con, my wrist band was no good, didn't open our room up later either. Whole ordeal. So trying to get a locker while waiting for room, they just let us in quickly, and set us up w a locker quickly (free). There are towels there, plenty. Food is pretty good. Bar.
The river is heated. Wave pool fun. Plenty life guards, on watch. Overall it was great.

Sooo we spent a lot of $$$ for a weekend away at aquatopia. The indoor water park was a mess! They used chairs to block of the broken baby slide, the rafts got stuck on the return & we waited 15 mins twice for the rafts. The jets in the hot tub area went off & when I reported it to the attendant she said it s supposed to do that?!?
The hotel room was musty & the door from the outside wouldn t lock. Our second room, the 2 bedroom suite , had no balcony?!? The water ran brown in the tub, the Murphy bed was broken, the shower only had cold water in our final day so we couldn t shower before we left ...housekeeping forgot to put towels in the second bedroom & we ran out of toilette paper with no spares in the room :(

Very nice Indoor and outdoor water park! The accommodation is vast and excellent. Even for a busy holiday weekend, they're very organized and we had a smooth check in and check out experience. The water park is a must for kids. Outdoor activities such as the Pocono pipeline are also a good option if you're there for a couple of days.

Conveniently located within Camelback resort. Great slides, and loved the river and wave pool. Kids had a blast. Only wish is a regular pool, but trully great way it is. Well contained, so good for keeping track of little runners.

I really loved this indoor water park! It great for all ages, from babies to adults! They have an adorable little toddler play area which my daughter loved and they also have the main area with the water slides and basketball court(in the water). The wave pool is awsome! And they have surfing! I really loved "mystic springs" which is and indoor/outdoor warm water pool. Its so relaxing! It's for everyone so they're will be children in it also but it was still a really great experience! Overall its a really fun trip for the whole family!

Keep young children off big rides. I saw a child today get injured today. There was blood everywhere and my heart went out to the child and family. At least. The staff acted very quickly and got the medical attention she needed. Aquatopia closed the outdoor activites because they thought it would rain. Well there was no rain or thunder. We waited 2 hours which really sucked. is there other things to do at aquatopia they have an exciting game room and an arts and crafts room not to mention other areas of the facility you can visit the best way for you to enjoy aquatopia is to spend a day and a half there or maybe even two days

This place is great but very pricey. They really get ya with the food, drinks and all they offer within the hotel. We used a Groupon for our stay and I'm not sure I would pay full price there. Might get a hotel around the area and then just go there for the water park.

Surprisingly, a really fun family experience. We took the kids out of school for two days to go mid-week (plus Saturday) in October. We felt guilty about taking the kids out of school, but we realized it was entirely worth it once we started to see the crowds pouring in for Friday check-in. It turned into a total mad house (although, it was all very orderly).

During mid-week, it feels like a luxury resort, during the weekends it feel like you're vacationing on the NJ Turnpike.

Despite all that, the staff was wonderful and attentive. Aquatopia is REALLY fun (mid-week). It has a fun theme to it, It's very well maintained, and there's lot's of unique things to do while you are there.

The lifeguards are very good with the kids. One of our children is on the Autism spectrum and the lifeguards were VERY accommodating to my boy's special needs. This was another reason why we had to go mid-week. The weekend would've been a nightmare for our son and our entire family with the influx of people and much longer lines.

We checked into the two bedroom condo on the 6th floor with an awesome view of Camelback Mountain. We spend a lot of time hanging on the back balcony. The rooms are oddly very dark. But either way the size was perfect for our family. We may splurge the next time and get a bigger loft condo just for the heck of it.
