Aquarium of the Americas Review

The aquarium was so much fun. We even got to feed stingrays while we were there, and we observed the penguin feeding.

Fairly small aquarium. A fair variety of small tanks.

It was better than the aquarium in TX. For the price I expected a little more to see. But overall the kids enjoyed it. Took us about 30 mins to walk through.

Great exhibits and knowledgeable staff. The parakeets were cool trying to climb in our pockets!

Worth hour money and time. Its great, I think especially for kids. You would like to know there is also a space for birds kind of like an aviary and you can feed them with a seed stick they sell for $1.50. Pinguins; fish of many kinds, sharks, birds and even a huge snake! The place is in an excellent condition. Staff was very nice and friendly. There is a really nice food court if you get hungry.

Great place to take rhe family on a hot summer day

It's a good place of all ages and the entry fee is similar to any other aquarium. $29 per adult and $20 per child. It takes around 1.5 hours average for the whole tour. Nice family fast food eateries are available inside. 3D film is also included in the ticket and have very good films of nature and earth.

A day in the aquarium meant getting a chance to learn more about the marine aquatic life and this aquarium was sure to include the main parts of the world and a trip back in time with Mayan heritage. Great for both kids and adults, as well as the IMAX theater entry included with a ticket. Definitely up there on my favorites list for all time best aquariums.

An incredible experience to behold. Do not let the crowds around the door fool you. Once you get inside there is LOTS of room for everyone to move around comfortably, and the displays are a site to behold. Well designed and managed.

Smaller than expected. Some of the exhibits were closed so there wasn't as much to see. The price for the aquarium included a ticket to the IMAX theater which was a good viewing experience.

Amazing aquarium. Both my boys love it there! My wife and I enjoy because it brings the boys joy! Lots to see remodeling for the shark tank kids can't wait but with the remodeling it doesn't take away from the amazing experience on seeing what they have.

If you are bringing a family i recommend you go ahead and purchase the family membership and visit the zoo and insectarium too. Esp. if you are close enough to go more than once. It really isn't much more expensive.

A little pricy for a less than 30 minute walk through, but since there were only two of us we paid the $60 and enjoyed the aquatic atmosphere. If we had paid an extra $20 we would of gotten zoo passes as well.

The aquarium is always a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy the fish and other creatures swimming around. The penguin feeding is very informative and the otters are always playful.

The aquarium itself is pretty awesome. Be forewarned, it gets hella crowded. Be patient, there are usually tons of families with their kids.

Well done, fun exhibits for all, central location to other NOLA attractions.

Very beautiful place has many aquatic animals, only they charge the parking ... but I highly recommend it is spectacular.

Many of the tanks are too small for the fish. Not sure how much fish "think" but only one or two tanks give the larger fish room to move around.

It has a few cool exhibits and it's not a bad place to spend an afternoon, but I think it could use some refurbishment.

Charged $30 to visit a packed aquarium. No one was wearing masks, had to walk all the way to theater viewing to purchase tickets only to have to walk all the way back to the season pass area and enter there. & they had no A/C. Not a very good variety of fish. Had a huge turtle and big fish but definitely not worth $30

Was alright to get out of the rain. Exhibits were dirty and small. Hard to enjoy knowing that, and way too crowded!

Great place. Awesome fish to see. It was not overly crowded. They were having interactive displays for the kids to teach about pollution.

An absolutely wonderful place where you get to know more about marine biodiversity.

This place was fun even as an adult. Clean, organized and the animals were well cared for.

Great time. We bought tickets online but no one checked them. Lots of stuff is closed. We parked really close for the whole day because it wasn't even gonna be two hours doing everything. Good fun either way

Very expensive, for me and my four children it came to $120. But that does come with a free imax movie, and if you don't rush through, the aquarium is worth it. Plenty to see and learn.

It's family oriented. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pretty cool, but I find it a shame they charge $21 for children, starting at 3! NOT GOOD FOR FAMILIES!

The aquarium is quite spectacular in some ways. Everything from sharks to seahorses. Fantastic spot for kids as well as adults. Plenty of room to walk around and explore the exhibits. Dining is an issue inside - there is not a vast selection on the menu and it is on the pricey side - though the prices are on point with other large Aquariums, Theme Parks, etc. There are a solid 20 restaurants within walking distance that have a variety of food options and price ranges, so it s not too big of an issue. It s also right off the trolley line, which is nice.

Had so much fun exploring and seeing all the aqua life! Our favorite was the jellies and penguins of course!

We had a wonderful time. Great displays and educational content. It was fun seeing all the excited children.

Not everything is big in America. Doesn"t compare to Lissabon for example.

None of the displays work, 1/3 is closed for renovations and it is not handicap friendly. I would not come here, it is a waste of money.

Beautiful area to take some photographs. Staff were friendly and the place was clean.

Saturday was super busy, bit still fun. My kids enjoyed it. Prices are high, but on a hot humid day, it's great.

It was awesome! I really enjoyed the Amazon Rain Forest Mississippi River, Parakeet Pointe, and the classes and movies.

This is a small aquarium compared to others I've been to. Other than the art made from plastic ocean waste there wasnt anything that particularly stood out about it. It is located on the riverfront which is nice. Also included in the aquarium ticket price is the Entergy movie screen where you can pick from one of three movies ranging from 20 minutes to 40 minutes. Blue planet, Wild Africa and the third ones name escapes me atm. They have a concessions stand also for the movie. A nice treat to sit down, grab a snack and a beverage after a day of walking in the hot NOLA sun. There is construction going on for a new shark exhibit that opens in 2019. So I would wait to go until that opens.
