Apple Jack Orchards is a little drive outside of the Twin Cities area but is not too far. It has numerous activities but the drawback is that the majority of them cost money. To do just a few things as a family quickly adds up. If money is not a problem then give a shot because you should find some activity to enjoy.

An orchard that has everything one could ask for. It is a little spendy, but it was nice to be there. It is a haven for families with kids on the weekends, so if you don't like crowds or kids, perhaps try a week day to visit.

Great apple picking farm with fun stuff for kids to play on. Lots of different kinds of apples to choose from. Pumpkins too. Hand washing stations and sanitizer everywhere.

Would recommend going right when they open if going on the weekend. Gets really busy by noon.

We have been going to Apple Jack Orchards for over 20 years and have seen it change from a nice family environment to a more commercial feel. The kids are a lot older now, so it is less about the experience for us and more about just getting some fresh apples. I will say that the olden days with less business seemed more fun than the need to get a ticket for each activity approach. All in all this is not a big deal as we don t go for the king of the hay pile or petting zoo anymore.
The reason for this review is to share the poor business experience we had. We bought some apples and caramel for a total of $44. After leaving and driving for 10 minutes, my wife happened to get a notice on her phone from her credit card that a large purchase was just made. She reviewed the transaction and saw a $440 charge was just made at Apple Jack. A small (not so small) oops on their part? Since they did not ask for a signature on the receipt, my wife could not have even caught this error when processed at the store.
We returned to the orchard and my wife went in to get this corrected. The response was not what you would expect following a $396 error on their part. In summary:
When they realized it would take some time to figure out how to correct this on their new system, one person made the comment that she (as in my wife) won t mind waiting . How do they know she won t mind waiting?
When we asked for a receipt to show the credit, they said it was a new system and they didn t know how to print a receipt. Really? This has to be the most basic function since it is done at all other retail environments. After some prodding, someone finally said oh, there is a print receipt button. Imagine that?
I would think you would be overly apologetic following a $396 error. Not really for the staff that addressed this. Not even an offer for a free apple pie for our troubles.
On a side note, the young lad running the apple cannon could use a little customer service lesson too.
I write this not to get a free bag of apples, but in hopes that Apple Jack Orchards recognizes how the impression their staff and the indifference they show can negatively impact their customers. Even those customers that are 20 plus years in the making.

Our 8 year old Daughter was kicked out of Apple Jack Orchards today because of her chronic, (internal) bleeding, esophageal disease [and because she had brought her own food to Apple Jack Orchards]. The uncaring, inhuman, money-oriented operators of Apple Jack Orchards may now delight in their disgrace.

My first time apple picking at an orchard! The experience was so fun and they had a great variety of apples, baked goods, and merchandise. We ended up picking an entire bag of apples and brewing a homemade apple cinnamon cider with them when we got home. The corn maze was a huge bummer though - it seemed very haphazard with see-through barriers and large, empty spots. We spent 5 minutes wandering around before bailing.

First fall in Minnesota, and Apple Jack Orchards did not disappoint. Didn t even realize it was a chilly 35 degree day because we had so much fun. Great food, great rides, great apples and great corn maze.

Fun place for the family. Lots of activities. Each one costs money and the self-picked apples are really expensive. Barn has good food. Watch out for bees though. Being an apple orchard bees are everywhere.

We went there tonight for a short time due to the rain during the day. We met up with family who got there at 5:10 and we arrived shortly after. None of the 15 people we met had to pay but we had to pay $15 for me, my significant other and our 2 year old. We started walking through and by 5:40 they started shutting everything down, even though they were open until 6. The staff had no care but to leave. We had to tell them it was only 5:40 and we wanted to do the apple cannon. It was my child's 1st apple orchard experience and I wish we had a redo. The only thing we got to enjoy was the corn pit and my child loved it, and they had nice toys and buckets in there. We will be going elsewhere from now on.

Beautiful family oriented facility with lots to do. Only drawback is dogs not allowed (unless service dog). If you don't like dogs, this is great. If Fido is part of family, then not for you. Please take this post for it's intent. Great place if you don't have to bring dog... There are other places similar if you do.

There was no one at the register in the store and I had to walk all the way to cafe to purchase my items and to ask for information. This was today which is Wednesday. DO NOT GO DURING THE WEEK. Theres a train to play on and a tiny tiny play area but YOU CAN'T PICK APPLES ON THE WEEKDAYS, this makes no sense!!!! I did buy apples but didn't try one yet so I can't speak on that issue but I am disappointed. Oh you can feed thier 4 goats.

Apple Jack Orchards is a great place for apple picking with little kids! Our kids love the train setup they can climb around on, and running through the orchard. Even while still in covid restrictions with social distancing and face coverings, we felt very safe and we appreciated what they have done to protect the visitors. Well worth the half hour drive for us!

Fun place with a store, live music (at least while we were there), food, apples, honey, maple syrup, and nick-nacks. For the kids there is a petting zoo, pony ride, maze and wagon ride. Some of the stuff is a little over priced so go with the intent of spending some money. The apples are delicious as well as the Apple based items in the store (Apple donuts were good). They also offer honey, gourds and pumpkins. The roasted nuts with sugar and cinnamon are fantastic!
