This is a great zoo for a day off. Beautiful animals and everything looks pretty well cared for. Not only the shelters, but also the surroundings and decorations. There are no bears and tigers at the moments, but they're working on a place for tigers now. Really loved the rhinos by the way! There are not many zoos out there keeping rhinos. Beautiful (and prehistoric) animals they are.

We found a little discount on the web, which saved us about 25% of the tickets. I think in the end we paid 25 each which seems quite fair.

It is a very huge and well laid out zoo and has a great oceanarium !!! I felt some cages were small, though the animals are looked after well.
As it is next to the train station, public transport is the best you can do.
Totally worth a visit with kids and there are 3 playgrounds as well ! I was there in the summer of 2011...

Visited this beautiful zoo again at the beginning of April and had a great day out with my family.
This morning however I received a fine of 150 for having driven into Antwerp city in my ten year old car.
116 entrance fee for four, parking fee, fuel there and back, lunch etc. and now a 150 fine; That was an expensive day out. We would love to continue supporting the fantastic conservation efforts of the zoo, but unfortunately Antwerp's green policies are just too expensive for us. A triple loss; for the zoo, the city of Antwerp and for my family who won't be back anytime soon unfortunately.

extremely few animals. and you can't see most of them during this time. in an hour I've already seen everything. and the price is much too high for what the zoo offers you. maybe just for kids it can be more interesting.

I planed to spend 2 hours here, 7 hours later I was late on my train. I just love this place, I love that animals have comfortable enclosures, except that lone chimp at the begining of the zoo which is why you are getting 4/5 (bad staff, bad bad).
Visit this zoo and do whine about that lone chimp.

The favorite zoo of our little one. She used to go there a LOT from age 1 to 2, during that time she improved really a lot her visual knowledge on animals and became extremely interested in animals since then. We loved the butterfly area and aquarium (but all inaccessible due to the COVID). It's a comparably small but amazingly organized zoo for toddles. Personally I think it is suitable for kids from 1-4. Now the zoo installed new playground but a pity that the tiger area has not been open yet.
