A must-see if you are in Amsterdam. The museum is extremely well done, and consists of a free audio guide that gives a simple, yet moving and informative history of Anne Frank, her family, the house, and Nazi occupation of Amsterdam. I highly recommend booking tickets online in advance. Non-ticket holders can only go in the late afternoon, at which point there is usually a very long line to get in.

Disappointing. There is almost nothing left of the original house and furniture. The museum used to have the real feeling of being in her achterhuis . Now it is stripped and you are ruched through a series of empty rooms with some tv screens. I won t go back again. Even so there are some nice exhibitions and information of the history and life of Anne Frank.

Really amazing experience, story is absolutely fantastic but so heartbreaking at the same time. Only thing that lets this attraction down are the staff letting people into the queue, the three of them I came across were incredibly short and rude

Buy your tickets online!!! This is how you'll get your time slot and immediately in without waiting. Otherwise you'll wait in the line for 2-3 hours. Online tickets are sold two months in advance, so you need to plan your visit quite early (maybe you'll be lucky as I was and you'll find a couple of available tickets while in Amsterdam, but don't take that risk). About the museum: What an emotional and touching visit. A true museum with a story (among other crappy Amsterdam museums and attractions). I highly recommend you to know at least something about Anne Frank and her life before going there (read her diary or watch one of the films about her life).

I ve read the book multiple times (first as a child) and so this was the first thing I booked when planning to trip to Amsterdam. Remember that you have to prebook the tickets online well in advance!

My ticket included the introductory tour which is done by a staff member who s so comfortable in the role, I wonder if he s an actor. He talked about Hitler and his rise to power, the Frank family and how the father moved them to Netherlands to avoid any uprising and everything else that followed up to the time they were found and murdered and the end of the war.

Next is the visit to the house where they hid for 2 years. The audio guide is great (and free!) and there s lots of description printed for everything. All the tickets were sold out but the whole place, while tiny, is so well laid out that you never feel like it s too crowded.

Photos were only allowed in the room where the introductory tour was held (although I saw many many people sneak photos all over the museum )

I m tearing up all over the place (and I rarely cry)

We ll worth the visit!

Very interesting, well-informed visit (audio guides provided for free). Very busy once inside though; there isn't a huge amount of space to move freely through the house without having to queue between rooms/certain exhibits. 11 pre-booked entry wasn't too bar, but I'd happily pay a bit more to limit numbers per time-slot and enhance the experience...

Canal-side building now repurposed as a museum in testament of its past inhabitants and purpose. Most of the exhibits are displayed through video clips projected on the various walls, with quotes from the diaries and document scraps interspersed between. These are audio tours, so bring a set of corded headphones to avoid having to hold the listening device to your ear for the entirety of your visit. Be sure to make a reservation in advance (available as early as two months in advance).

It was very crowded even late in the evening, which is understandable, but sort of takes away from the experience with so much noisy din going on. My husband visited several years ago and said it s much more like a museum now than before. I m sure the construction/renovation they re doing is to accommodate the crowds, but it felt pretty commercialized compared to how he described it from his previous visit.

Aside from that, it s a moving place to visit. The audio tour and visuals are very well done. There are several interviews with survivors that are so incredible to listen to and important to remember.

My favourite place to have visited so far. The tour was unusual as you had your own speaker which was different, but good. Each room had it's own story and the emotions felt whilst visiting the house were not something which I had ever experienced before. Definitely worth the visit.

Book the online lecture and tour to beat the long queue. Visiting again after more than 25 years. Good for the kids to come and understand the writings and the events that let to the tragic end of a young girl. Sadly, we are seeing the rise of similar undercurrents in the present day with more right wing rhetoric not just in Europe but round the world. Insecurity caused by poor education, uncontrolled immigration, many suffering economically and feeling left out from benefits globalization.

What a moving experience this was. It was such a pity that the rooms are mostly empty and or sparsely populated with items. It makes space.to move about the crowds, but in the end the tour is really a photo tour with audio. That's not to say it isn't a fantastic experience, but perhaps in the annex, some replica furniture could have been presented.

Moving tribute to the story of Anne Frank and millions of others that were murdered atrociously by the German Nazi's and their accomplices. Although the queues may look daunting they love quickly. Though pre-booking your tickets is a must.

An eerie reminder of history and the writings of a young jewish girl. Its a poignant reminder that we should never forget the things that happened. If you have ever read her diary, then this will be even more touching - I recommend reading her diary before visiting.

Harrowing and difficult but an absolutely essential museum experience. It is so well done with an intimate look at the life and beautiful mind of Anne Frank as well as insight into the lives of Jewish people in hiding. The museum ends on a somewhat sweet note, showing all the publications of her diary around the world in different languages.

Reflecting on our recent travel throughout Europe, this place is a must visit when in Amsterdam. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance! The line to buy same-day tickets was at least a block long and folks were standing in some serious rain...on a Wednesday in the winter! Even in that case, I would say the visit to the museum is definitely worth it. The museum has a cafe available, so you can rest up after walking through the house. The museum layout, history, and energy makes the house a deep experience. It forces you to reflect on humanity, compassion, and the future. These are core principles we all need to be reminded of. They are certainly found here.

This place is marked by the historical significance associated with the world war 2. The secret annexe of Anne Frank. The audio guided tour rakes you back to the history and lets you relive a part of stories written by Anne Frank in her diary. The museum has a small eatery and coffee shop. The museum is well maintained. Please book the tickets online as tickets are not available at the location.

Photos are not allowed inside, audio guides are available in more than 10 languages. Visiting the room that Anne Frank had actually lived, I couldn t help thinking what would she have became had she lived. This is the best place to learn about Anne Frank and the history.

It was a very sobering and educating in experience. I highly recommend doing the introductory 30 min talk (I think it is 5 euro extra). If you sign up for that on time, you will get a specific time to visit the museum and not have to wait in the ridiculously long line. Very well worth going to to!

It was a really sad thing to see but it really shows how discrimination is horrible and causes people, like Anne, to suffer for nothing. Lastly, I would recommend anyone to go there as it is an amazing thing to see and helps you learn a lot of things about WW2 and the effect it can have.
