Nice atmosphere, pub and drinks, however the chef appears to hate food, we got burgers, the bun itself was dry and falling apart, the patty on both the veggie burger and the meat was so dry the Sahara would be proud. That was after getting a veggie burger instead of a veggie pie.

My only advice is bring your own microwave meal because the conveyer belt that made it has more passion for food!

We had a delicious meal here before we went to the Globe Theatre. The service was quick (despite just one poor man on the bar) and the quality of the food was exceptional . A lovely spot by the Thames.

We went to piss during the free tour, the bar looked at us like cows to the train, since nobody consumed anything XD.
They say it's the oldest pub in London, it's on the edge of Tamesis. Inside is the typical English pub with many beer cankers, high tables and decorated in dark wood. It had several areas, it was wide and there were already people drinking beer at 12:00.

The food was great. The place was very busy so we had to wait for our food approximately 40 min. When they brought u as the food, one of the dishes was wrong (missing a few things). We asked several different people about the missing items, but no one ever brought us anything. The second beer that I had was very diluted. The service is mediocre.

Sadly I did not have a good experience at this pub, the service is so slow. It took us no shorter than 25 minutes to get our drinks (I was timing it too because it was so long). So off putting that you would not bother staying for a second once you have the first, much better pubs with better service on Southbank.

Great pub. Good selection of beers. Outside bar too for the summer time. Great views as well over the Thames and St Paul's and surrounding bridges. Easy and convenient to get to. Always busy during the summer months and whenever there's a bit of sun. Even if it's not its busy inside just because of the location. Big place inside too plenty of seating and the food isn't bad too.

Cool old pub with good food that is not expensive. It was neat to think that we were eating in a place that Shakespeare frequented and that has been serving ale since before America was the US of A.

It's a decent enough pub, but there are better close by towards the market.
Does have a lovely view of the river though.

Covid-19 update: We had a pint in here on Saturday and quite frankly they do not care a jot about the safety of their patrons. Drinkers were walking in through the unmanned exits and hanging around the tables that had been spaced out while waiting to get to the bar just like in the old days.
It was pretty disgraceful actually.
Don't even get me started on the Greene King app which is less about drinking safely and more about data harvesting.
It has put me off of the whole chain of pubs if I'm honest.
From 4 stars to 1.

One of the oldest pubs in London with a selection of beers ... crowded especially on Friday, located in the old well renovated docks which house among other things a very nice farmer's market.

This is one of the PUB to visit in London, its location, its colors, its beers and its food make it the perfect PUB on this visit, next to the Thames river and close to the borough market, one of the most important in London

Traditional "Yo olde English"-type of pub. Old fashioned array of small and intimate rooms around two large rooms with a bar each. It's got character and it's rather picturesque. Would definitely recommend going in there!

The steward at the entrance has limited intelligence as can t speak properly with people who has reservation already. Better you train him how to speak with clients maybe he can perform simple tasks.

I don't know how a place in such a good location and with such nice interior can have such horrendous service and food. Half the menu was unavailable. When I ordered a 'goats cheese and butternut squash' burger, I got served a deep fried sweet corn and mash battie and when I complained, the waiter had the audacity to tell me that it's my fault for ordering from an outdated menu that he(!) gave to me. Overall a very disappointing experience.

A very nice place that I visited again, with different food sometimes because orders may not be accepted due to the occupancy of the kitchen, nice to sit outside and when there is some music there it is simply brilliant! People dance and sing

Very nice view but the food is low quality. The Sunday roast arrived after two minutes I ordered and it looked and tasted old and stale. Staff not able to smile. Shame, such nice potential!

A huge pub located not too far from. Borough Market. It has numerous bars inside any of which you can be served from. A good array of beers, wines and spirits. It lacks in terms of ales and ciders in my opinion. The food is good too. Unsurprisingly It is incredibly busy between 7pm and 9/10pm on a Friday. If you're with a group of friends I'd recommend, if just 2 of you or you just fancy a pint on your own I'd look for somewhere a tad smaller and or quieter!
PS: it had a great view of Tower Bridge and The Shard!
