We had a two day residential workshop at Avani hotel Kalutara.
It was a excellent experience. Hotel Manager Mr. Jude, F&B manager and other staff were wery helpful efficient and kind hearted.
Food also very good. We found more varieties of food in buffet.
Finally appreciate their great hospitality.

It was our first visit to Avani Kaluthara , I wanted to suprise my girlfriend for her birthday and they have arranged everything beautifully and was too kind to arrange a complimentary cake for us , Moreover the staff was welcoming and should mention about Damitha who directed us from the beginning was very helpful and explained everything about the hotel well . The food was fresh and delicious aswell and the ambience was calm and beautiful . Thanks a lot for the great experience and would recommend to anyone

Sri Lanka is a wonderful place to relax with children. There are all the conditions for this: hotels do not charge for the placement of preschool children, excellent sandy beaches, all-inclusive hotels with a child-centered nature, an abundance of fruits, exotic animals and of course a rich excursion program that will not give you get bored. ... And the joy of looking for a hotel, reading a lot of reviews and choosing a beach for your vacation, I will never exchange for a boring ticket from a tour operator on pre-planned routes. Just imagine how pleasant it is to dream about your future vacation, sitting at the computer and choosing this wonderful hotel.

I very satisfied with my stay at Avani Kalutara hotel. Hotel is cozy and nicely decorated as a Mangrow forest with a lot of beautiful details. I was greeted really good by front office receptionist Nuranga, he speaks English quite good and even know some Russian. All hotel stuff are very friendly and helpfull, service was provided on a highest level. Rooms are new and very clean. Clealing stuff made nice towel decor with flowers and always care to provide evough water. Special thanks for bartender Ravindra, who answered hundreds of my questions. Food was great and team were preparing something new for breakfasts everyday. There is no spa dedicated to rhe hotel, so I went to the nearby hotel Anantara, which is quite expensive, but the service proveded definitely deserve that price. Nadeesha at the spa reception provided very good service, explains every detail and even stayed longer hours for me.
There are some room for improvenent - it would be good to provide cleaning facilities in a gym, it's a worldwide practice whwn you can clean equipment before and after you use it with respect to other guests. Yoga mats required a renew, they are quite used. Cleaning 2 times a day is not really nessesary, or can be clarified during check in. For me it was s bit of interuption, espesially when my personal stuff was organised by someone else.
As a tour agent we are not happy with management and reservation department of this hotel.. all the management staff never take responsibilities.. but as a place its nice..

Me and my wife stayed at Avani Ocean View Pool Suite and it was truly wonderful time. We had a warm welcome and our room was just what we expected with keen eye to detail. Mr Jayantha and the staff was very accommodating and their service was fantastic. Early check-in and late check-out was an added advantage for our stay. We had a great time and will definitely come back.
Very good stay during this Sinhala new year season .They have organised a lot of Avrudu games and fun events for every one even some Avurudu goodie and Hot hot kauwm and kokis as well .had a grate day Well done Avani kalutara From Diana and Taslim Rahaman
Avani has always been a choice if you are planning on the Kalutara district. The rooms are a bit far (depending on where you get it) but other than that this place is a place of rest and comfort for the price tag. The food is great and well as the service (except for a few personalities that needs work).

This a very good place to relax. Close by sea and lagoon. View of Kalutara bodiya is brilliant . 1.5 hr drive from colombo.
We stayed one day full board here. Rooms are comparatively small compared to other similar grade hotels in Sri Lanka. Rooms are in very compact manner beside tiny dark corridors. Sea view is not clear to rooms. But some of ground floor rooms have nice view of lagoon as gardens. If you are looking for a room best to stay at ground floor. It has direct access to garden and hanging beds on coconut trees. The terrace in lower level has much space to enjoy the surrounding. Upper level room balcony s are too small though.
Food is average. Nothing bad but nothing special to be delighted. Bathrooms and rooms are clean.

We had a great time. Great service, best in Sri Lanka. Staff are extremely friendly and went out of their way to delight us. We Good food. Rooms are good, could be bigger. The entertainment in room is better than the competition. Pool is very good. Beach is mainly clean. Large space and plenty of activities to engage in.

Stewards are the worst. Ashen one of the steward staff was not helpful and friendly at all. The service was seriously bad that they refused to provide even water at the ballroom. The manager there was inhuman with his services. Would not recommend at all.

Staff in the reception is mean. Do not trust their telephone operator whatsoever. She is a big liar and try to grab extra money. Food and atmosphere is good. They usually don't offer buffet if the guest count is below so called 30. Always get ready for the set menu IYKWIM.
