I am writing a review before leaving back home and it is sad to leave this paradise) for the first time everything was arranged at the hotel. Very friendly and attentive staff, excellent service, very clean everywhere and smells good) nothing falls off and does not fall apart. The territory is well-groomed, very beautiful, large enough, in the evenings there is where to walk. And you can walk in the territory of a neighboring hotel. There is a rocking chair, billiards, darts. We had only breakfast, near the hotel went to dinner at the restaurant fresh lobster. There s a table right by the ocean, it s deliciously prepared and the prices are pleasant. There are a couple of restaurants around, we really did not visit them. We went to the center on a tuk tuk for 15 minutes a couple of times for lunch, in the sea shell prices are lower and just as tasty, but without a view of the ocean. From the airport, we were taken by bus for 2 hours. We rested in the period 02.21-02.03, during this period 3 days in the second half it was cloudy and a couple of drops of rain. The rest of the time is sunny. Watch out for the sun! Under the umbrella were all the time and burned. Enjoy your stay) I highly recommend the hotel!

Went for a day out. Very beautiful place. Sea from one side and kalutara bay the other side. Lunch buffet was also okay. Good space. Ideal for a relaxing weekend.

It was quite an interesting experience being back at Avani three years after my first visit; the fact that I went back must be a pretty good indicator of how pleased I was the first time around, but here's the breakdown.
There's a nice pool and a baby pool for the little ones. The buffet for breakfast and dinner were both good with adequate variety that didn't overwhelm. There's a shared spa with their neighbour, Anantara, with a selection of massages and scrubs. The fitness center (also shared) is adjacent to the spa and will serve you well is you like to indulge at the buffet. There's also a pool table, ping pong, carrom, chess and checkers. You can also rent bicycles from the hotel and there's water sports on the premises as well.
Rooms are spotless and the staff are always eager to help - they treated us like royalty to the point we were worried it was a case of mistaken identity. Would like to thank Jayantha and his team for making our stay one to remember.

Fairly good hotel,The food was tasty,but the buffet didnt have many options and the dishes were not filled when it was over. The rooms were good but they were bit small. Wifi was free and fast. Overall great exeprience

Nice location, food and other resources could be better. Didn't have a doctor on call!

A little bit of disconnect between reservation office and reception. Eg: Check in/out times at the point of reservation confirmation different to times handled by the reception.
Else otherwise all other specilities well done.

I spend my holidays in Avani resort in Kalutara since few days with my wife.
Everything is perfect for us, the beauty of the place, the confort of the room, the quality of the food... and we appreciate a lot the kindness of the staff. They are all so lovely and always smiling. They do their best to satisfy you. And when they clean your room, they create some beautiful animals sculptures with towels and flowers. It s very romantic and nice.

Best hotel to stay in Srilanka Down South. Hotel has all facilities of a family vacation place. Long Beach facing shore sides. Rooms are maintained and staff is courteous.

Um a Promotion & event photographer. I went to this hotel to meet one of my client & get some photos . The hotel has a good & very friendly staff . Specialy this location are very nice & peace . its very helpful for my shoot. Btw i brought some cocktail & some snacks. At night this place are very lovely . The sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. I had a lovely time at the Avani Kaluthara Resort and enjoyed the location. High Recommended For This Place All. I really love this place . A dirty place, the sea drags away. It is impossible to swim. The hotel is not equipped with a shower by the pool. The staff is boorish. A bunch of locals who are bred for money.

This Hotel is quite Unique simply because this is probably the only hotel that has 2 views... one of the Ocean and the of a river. with this breath taking view coupled with excellent service this hotel is one of a kind.

Since we have arrived at the Avani hotel the staff have been nothing but friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The head chef catered for all my dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Donald arranged a beautiful beach dinner for my partners birthday, complete with a menu that I could eat and a wonderful disc of photos, making the whole occasion special and memorable.
The restaurant staff and bar staff were amazing and took the time to make us feel at home and the pool staff were friendly and always available with a smile and to help with anything.
The rooms were kept beautifully clean and flowers and decorations left on the bed.
Thank you very much also to the wonderful lady on the reception who ensured that everyday was started with started with a big smile and a friendly face.
