Anantara Kalutara Resort & SPA and Avani Kalutara Resort & SPA Review

The hotel is beautifully situated on a promontory between Kalu Ganga and the sea. It is a highly recommended hotel. The food was very good and the staff always helpful and friendly. Always worth a trip.

Beautiful place. Gorgeous and huge beach. Friendly setup. Not the biggest buffet you will find. But tasty foods. Really enjoyable.

Picturesque Hotel. The most amazing thing is Hotel Bank to a Estuary. Wow. This hotel is star class hotel (4 ) with accommodation, Bar and Restaurant etc... ones you went in to the hotel you can feel the calm and relaxed

Weekend buffet was great and tasty. Good collection of sea food. Pool area is beautiful. Nice view of the sea and mouth of 'Kalu' river. Great place to team gatherings and outings. Watersports are available.

We, both me and my wife, selected Avani Kalutara Resort as our 28th destination of Travellogged by Sachcha & Pubba.

Initally, we must thank Mr Siva - Director of Rooms at Anantara Kalutara Resort for arranging us this superb getaway.

We reserved the place for one night and we were given an early check-in on our arrival. And also we were given an upgrade to the Avani Ocean View Pool Suite.

On our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and given a brief introduction about the property. They have taken all the precautions to avoid pandemic as per the guidelines given by the government at their level best and it should be appreciated.

Suite:
We would say that it is Super spacious, perfectly arranged, well equipped and rich with modern facilities & amenities.

Staff:
Very Kind, efficient and pleasant

Food:
All the meals during our stay were provided on a buffet at the Mangrove - Main Restaurant. By the way, it is much appreciated even in this situation, they have managed to provide a buffet for all the meals. Food was delicious and mouth-watering.

Premises:
Well maintained, neat & tidy.

When considering the overall stay at this hotel is absolutely superb. They have provided an excellent hospitality through out our stay.

Other than the above, please note the following in order to improve the quality of the service standards.

When considering the present situation with regard to the health, you have taken all he possible actions to prevent the same. But during my stay, I have seen only a handful of people including ourselves were followed the instructions given. So I request you all to remind the guests frequently about the health standards especially at the main restaurant atleast.

We should personally thank, Mr Siva - Director of Rooms at Anatara Kalutara Resort, Mr Jayantha - Guest Services Manager Avani Kalutara, Mr Jude - Manager Avani Kalutara, Mr Tuan - Manager F&B Avani Kalutara for their excellent hospitality.

With this stay, we have visited almost all the Resorts & Spas of Minor Hotels in Sri Lanka. We would say that, all the hotels, Anantara Kalutara, Anantara Peace Haven & Avani Kalutara, are perfect in all the areas and as frequent travellers we had unforgettable and fantastic stays with them.

No lifts at all . I have to call worker to carry my baby stroller in or out through stairs !!!

Outdated hotel .

Ground resturant bad service . Waiters agnoring although there were few custmers. Finally after calling a waiter bring menu in a mad face and left never come back to take my order.

We are lost to get to our rooms its confusing that even the hotel stuff who lead us to room didnt know the direction and lost !!!

Many mosqitous in room . I called them they sent an electric product that i dont know what it will do coz the sent stuff also dont know enough english !!

I have a bites all over my body and scared about my baby who is sleeping in the same room so i called reception again i asked for a treatment palm or lotion to apply all over my body bites but waste time and he didnt understand.

I am here now . Afraid about my baby and have nothing to apply on her to keep musquies away from her.

So bad hotel and service. You better close your hotel if you cant manage properly.

Great hotel! Delicious food, very polite and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and clean. In the evenings, live music is played. I recommend for a relaxing family vacation!
Special thanks to the bartenders Jayantha and Gayan. They provided us with quick service, good service. They will help you to choose and bring everything on time. And also many thanks to Amila, who cleans up in our room. He always smiled, brought flowers to our room. He was attentive and professional. If you suddenly decide to visit Avani these people will make your stay comfortable!

Visited as 1st Corporate package after COVID 19 Pandemic. Great Location with Large space and views just beautiful. Excellent Service for everything Specially Mr Tuwan & Mr Lahiru was attentive and helpful.

We had great holiday at Avani Kalutara with our Oppo team members. Foods was great , service very good and friendly staff, specially thanks for the Nuranga ,who works at Front Office .Very helpful person.

They provide a customized experience for each guest. That's what's awesome about this place. Other than that, the food is great even though the selection is minimal. And the environment is awesome with jetskiis and all that near the beach.

Such a beautiful hotel with an amazing view. Rooms were well arranged and clean with almost all the facilities . The buffet was having a vast spread with some delicious collection of desserts. loved the room with ocean view and probably the lagoon view would have been even more better. Staff was very helpful and supportive as well.
The only negative fact is that ,while having meals , when we left the table to serve some more food our Cutleries were collected by the waiters and we had to ask them for and wait until they bring us new ones .
But overall it was such a good experience and love loved the hospitality delivered by everyone at AVANI..

- [ ] Our stay at Avani Kalutara resort was indeed a very pleasant experience. Enjoyed every bit of it. The staff was very polite and helpful, the location was very convenient. Delicious food and well maintained safety (COVID) protocols. What's amazing is the kids play area and the day care was nice and clean too. If we were to travel to kalutara again, we would definitely stay there again! it was a wonderful experience. From the reservation to front desk executives, chefs, room service, hotel managers, to recreation center executives and to security guards, amazing hospitality. Keep up the Good Work guys! A special note of appreciation goes to Dinusha Chandrathilake, Thilina, Marc, Tuwan and Jayantha.

The environment, service and everything is good except the food. The buffet had only limited number of selections.

Excellent hotel. Spent here 10 days. Caring and attentive staff that cares about your needs. The only downsides are lunch boxes that give along when you go on a tour, not always cope with saturation. And slow working Wi-Fi (

Hotel and room good, catering very good, only downsides: complicated to swim on the beach for safety reasons with a red flag and the hotel is fully under construction 24 hours a day, we were not lucky with these inconvenience.
Despite the remoteness of the construction from our room we could hear them at night.

One best place to spend the weekend. I have beef with my family from UK, each one of us enjoyed very well. Hotel is old but clean and nicely kept. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. All three meals are out of the world, we may think can pay extra from what we got billed. It got sea view and lagoon view on both side.

Superb service, customer service is excellent, they even extended our check out until night without any charge even, atmosphere is great, food is excellent, great surrounding, WiFi connection is very stable. Overall great hotel with great facilities. Highly satisfied.
