Doesn t take noise complaints seriously when someone hasn t slept in a week. Told us to deal with it ourselves after our apartment complex told us to call them if we had issues.

Terrible department with officers who conduct themselves based on personal interests instead of the general good of the public.

Love harassing students rather than dealing with actual crimes, unless they happen in the upscale part of town. Then there's a swat team.

I'm a manager at a late night restaurant, we deal with a lot of drunk students, we had one get violent in our store. I called Ames PD, they said an officer was on the way. They never showed up

I had the chance instead of the misfortune to deal with one of the Ames police force recently. Pam answered the call in a friendly personable way and gave me all the information I needed to pursue results for my problem in an expedited manor. From past experiences I find this to have been an almost enjoyable one. Were it not for the reason I called it would have been. I applaud these officers if even part of them are as efficient and courteous as the one I interacted with. Thank you for your time.

Ames police are generally ok, but ISU PD is a different story. They hire people who probably peaked in highschool to take the job of harassing and intimidating students. ISU PD is useless when it comes to stopping real crimes and will only respond if they think it involves drugs so that they can make themselves feel like they are making an impact. The truth is, ISU PD has the lowest IQ officers in the business.

It is crazy. I am waiting for 2hours at my house to make a police report. That is not Right.

These guys are awesome. They really listen to the people they deal with and provide incredible service. Ames isn't that small of a town anymore, but our police act like they live in a far smaller place and really care. For client confidentiallity I can't give out specific details, but they have often gone way out of their way and at least once while on personal time to help my clients when they needed it.

Ames is very fortunate to have all of them!

Officer Blair, we are so grateful for your compassion that you showed us when we were at our worst. You are an asset to the city of Ames police department. Your calm demeanor helped ease our worst fears. Please know that we truly appreciate all you do.

I Just watched Ames p.d. bring child seats and ice cream for kids. Pretty nice .
