Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles Review

Very dirty, from the parking lot to the casino floors.

I've stayed at the hotel, visited the casino and also ate here. I love this place. Just wish it was 100% smoke free.

The rooms are very spacious, huge and comfortable beds. The shower is exceptional as well as the bathtub. The pillows are very comfortable as well. The location is close to old st. Charles.

We had a reservation here, with a set check-in time. We arrived as scheduled, no rooms available, and a 1 to 2 hour wait until there would be, OK, things happen.

When we got our room over an hour later, the room was a mess. The sheets had not even been changed; you could literally see a sweaty body outline on one bed in the sheets, and both beds were full of body hair...just gross.

The sinks and tub were the same, more body hair. There was sticky soda or something on the nightstand, obviously uncleaned, and dust everywhere.

We asked for a new room. They complied, of course getting keys that worked took a couple trips to the desk.

The new room wasn t much better, but at least had clean sheets.

The place is greatly understaffed everywhere, with long waits for the most mundane things. The help, especially in the Falcon Diner was nothing short of surely, and my wife s food wash cold despite a long wait. (I know this a fact of life down here but...) the casino reeks from the smoking that is permitted there, in fact the entire area around it does.

Also, watch out for Ameristar coupons they give out that should, but don t work at Falcon Diner.

Would not go back...ever.

My husband and I went to Ameristar for the first time on 6/22/19. We were impressed with the overall appearance and with the amenities that were as good as any in Las Vegas. The service from different employees was excellent. All were very nice and helpful.

Went to the new grill place inside the casino last night. New menu, same sh&tty service. The people who work there act like they don't want to be there. No friendliness, hell almost hostile at times employees, can make any experience negative. Plus, last night I had to wait 30 minutes for an egg burrito sandwich. I don't know if they need more help or what. But sourpuss and slow service is always a turn off.

Looks pretty and glamorous from the outside, but inside its kind of a dump. Smells like curry and garbage! I'll be taking my money elsewhere next time.

Good casino. Lost money. Hate spending money on drinks but overall good experience

Love this place! They have the best buffets- fresh and although pricey, you get what you pay for. Will be visiting again soon!

I saw a BED BUG!!! When I killed it, it had fresh blood on there. Sometimes the bites don t show up for up to 14 days and nearly a week later, I had over 20 bites all over my body! They told us that we could switch rooms but they never offered to do anything with our clothing. We just moved all our stuff and spread the bed bugs to a different room on a different floor. I called them to check up on the situation and they told me that they only found one dead bed bug. That s highly unlikely since I got bit over 20 times!!!

Wonderful place to go and just hang out in people watch

First time back in a year. Incredibly smoky and a draft beer was $7. A lot of people with masks worn improperly. Won't be back for awhile.

I am not happy with the service we had at the hotel. For the money we spent on the rooms here and the service we got is a joke. Multiple things not working in the room. Call front desk to help maintance shows up 30 mins later after a 2nd call to see where they are. We got the item we needed fixed and not even 10 mins later It doesn t work. We wait another 30 mins or more and nothing. Call back down to just cancel it and all he had to say was I m sorry ma am and hung up on me. There will be some words when we check out. Not happy at all and will not recommend this hotel to ANYONE!

Liked the casino just fine, but the sports pubs nachos were no good. The Buffalo shrimp on the other hand were great.

Our room was clean and nice. Love the indoor outdoor pool. Went to pearls and the food was outstanding. Did a little gambling, fun clean atmosphere. Would definitely go back again.

Very nice hotel and casino. The Globar is awesome inside the casino. Joseph is the best bartender we've ever had. He makes the absolute best amaretto sours I've had. I will be looking for him if/when we return.

Went to the jazz club to see Bitter Pill, a rock cover band. Everything was great with that, not too crowded. The mixed drinks however were filled to the brim with ice with not a lot of alcohol.

Most of the time I can go straight to my favorite slot machine

A truely child and family hating casino !!! No children allowed in the pool on sundays ( INCLUDING FATHERS DAY ??? ) Sundays have become private adult swim party or ( dump your drinks and varius body fluids in the pool day ) . If you make a reservation a year ahead they call you at 4 in the afternoon the day before and tell you your children aren't welcome in our pool and we don't comp or do anything for you , SORRY !!! Just kidding these guys are lowlives and could care less . DO NOT USE THIS THE LOWEST FORM OF ULTRA CHEAP AND RUDE CASINOS ANY OTHERS I HAVE EVER USED ARE BETTER !!!

Service was wonderful in the casino. We lost our money, but we had an awesome date night!

Just went to the buffet, had a great breakfast based meal. Eggs were good, french toast amazing. Server ben was great as well.

It was all like a dream. Beautiful and surreal is all i can come up with.

I stay very often & most times I Love it! Today, I needed to reheat food that I paid a "pretty penny" for at AmeriSport Grill & Bar...anyway there's no microwave or any place to reheat food.

All this to say... don't expect to bring any food back to your room if you can't eat it cold.

Great service and quality of crab legs!! Had 10 bundles... all fresh and a great size.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place. I made two visits and wasn't impressed either time. If you've got money to give away go ahead, but nothing if fair gaming in this place in my opinion. I gambled for hours to walk out a loser on both visits

It's nice and every employee was nice, but the problem is as a truck driver trying to get in there is horrible no shuttle and go in underneath and elevator shut down

This property IS NOT kid friendly even they promote it is. Planned long weekend summer getaway with minor daughters. Pool closed thee entire Saturday stay because of chemical balancing ?!?!?

Sunday the girls were told pool was not open to them at all due to a private adult party starting at 12 noon. Pool opens at 10am but kids still unable to use from 10-12.

Very disappointing stay and would definitely not suggest staying with children!

The staff are very rude. We were in the casino standing in line to get drinks and a heavier woman approached us and said we need to get in another line because of COVID restrictions and the number of people we had in our group. Okay no big deal. My friend asked if we would like to get in the other line and the woman said I m not asking, I m telling you . WOW this is how you treat patrons. I told her she was out of line and she threatens to call security. What a coward. The staff really needs to work on treating guests like guests. She is lucky to have a job during the pandemic...

Awesome rooms, love the extra sitting area and a beautiful view if the river and the lights of st louis
Had a wonderful time at Ameristar casino

Very clean and everyone was wearing a mask for the most part. The table dealers I came in contact with were very nice and helpful! The bar staff was nice enough, but it took a lot to get one over to order a drink. I did not have any interaction with waitresses but they all seemed nice and cheerful. I did not like that the entire downstairs was the smoking section with non-smoking upstairs given that smoke rises. Also, the selection of games in the non-smoking section was very disappointing no table games at all and the slots all looked old and ragged.

The most amazing casino and hotel I've been to in my whole life, not to mention my fiance proposed while we were staying :)

Hands down favorite place to eat! The atmosphere, service, and manager Ken was outstanding! Try the Shaking Beef! Can't go wrong with anything you get.

After handing the attendant my id for entry into the casino, she looked at it for at least one minute, holding it up to my face and held up the line. She asked me in a rude manner, WHAT AGE ARE YOU TODAY?? I told her I was 21 and she hesitated and said rudely, OK, enjoy your stay. She was rude and unfriendly, I didn t like it.
Casino is very nice though.

Love it. Lots of slots. Some new. Lots of older stuff. Sounds of slots filled the air.. on a Tues noon time also. We will be back most definitely.

Used to be clean. This place needs to be shut down in order to clean and paint.

Everything is great here but I have an honest question. Do you all plan on fixing your elevators, it seems like only two of them work properly so the wait for elevators can be extreme. Especially Thursday/Friday evening and Sunday mornings. The 4 person limit is understandable because of the pandemic, but it makes the wait for 1 of two elevators much longer.

Beautiful interior. Well lit balcony area with less traffic than the rest of the venue. Good for taking natural light photos in cold weather.

Love the casino and staff, but the people who come here are not so pleasant. Several run in several times. Don't have that same prob at others... Nice Buffett though

One of the dirtiest and most disgusting rooms I've EVER stayed in. Incredibly disappointing. Casino Staff is very rude. Stay at the Hollywood across the river, you'll be glad you did.

Its heaven on earth the room is set up like a home bed was very comfortable I slept the entire night the bathroom I wish I had at my own home

Good buffet. Good to great rooms. Often wonderful entertainment weather private weddings or bands. Sports bar and lounge/casual dining very good as well. Some day I'll get lucky;)!

Parking was easy in and out. We went for dinner and a bit of slot play. I found the buffet to be over priced but service was good and there was a large food variety. I was surprised that they still allow smoking in the casino. It w as so smokey I had a hard time breathing. I also was disappointed in how hard it was to locate the slots in wanted to play. I spent more time walking around looking for a good quarter slot to play then the 4 minutes it took me to go broke.

Its a casino your gonna lose. 1% might win but sadly you will lose.

I didn't stay at the hotel. I attended the New Years party. The party was fantastic but security could have been tighter. It felt a bit unsafe with such a huge crowd pouring in and no security measures taken.

The casino is a nice one with plenty of tables and good service. The Bottleneck n Blues bar is also nice and has decent drink prices. The casino restaurants were full of people which leads me to believe the food is good. I will defintely be returning!

Still, to this day, the best buffet in the region. Bar none. My wife and I have family in Vegas. So we are out there a couple of times a year. And without a doubt, the Ameristar is the closest thing you're going to get to a true Vegas style buffet. Between their walk way set up and their sunken room set up, I just don't see why you would choose another casino in the area. To me....that's just a waste of time!!!!

The workers in the buffet are excellent. Particularly Chris who is always cheerful & has Ameristar's back at the same time. I would hire him in a minute!!

We go to visit my In-laws every 6 months and it is a must to get brunch at this place. The food is AMAZING!!!

Love the rooms.. Live the concierge. The casino is always fun and hits a lot even if just minor wins keeps ya playing... Friendly workers..

From all appearances the Fe looked like it might be the right thing to do for Thanksgiving when there's no family in town. What we experienced was less then optimal food things had been left a little longer than they should under the heat lamps and the greasy whip cream which was anything but dairy based just really killed the whole experience at the end. I need a to brush my teeth get the taste out of my mouth from that whatever that white stuff was.

The rooms are awesome , spacious , a seating area and has two tv's.

I hosted a large (250 people) party here. From beginning to end was perfect! Samantha was there every step of the way, the staff was incredible, and everything went perfectly. It's such a nice venue, very elegant. All of our guests then went downstairs and enjoyed the bars and casino. 10/10.

This is one of my favorite places to stay. The accommodations are beautiful, the rooms very comfortable and stylish, and the staff is always friendly.

Tried taking a friend that just turned 21...ugh!!! Really turn him away because they said his ID was not good enough...Really SCAN IT MF!!!! Sad i spend alot there...DONE!

This casino is located in an area near my family and we have considered getting a room when in the area because the rates are usually pretty great so we stopped by just to walk around. We don't gamble and it was kind of sad to see how many folks do but the building itself is beautiful and very clean.
