Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles Review

This place is absolutely beautiful. Outstanding food outstanding service!!

The hotel is beautiful with plenty of parking. Every restaurant is worth tryinh and the casino has great games all day and night. The poker room is top notch and the night life is what you are looking for.

I usually love the Ameristar Buffet but the totally sucked when I took out of town guests for dinner on April 6th. Shoeleather steaks, dry chicken, salad bar looked nasty. I ordered (paid extra) for 2 lbs of crab legs for one of my guests and they came cold, no cutlery or sauce provided.Had find a server to ask for napkins for the crab. I have ha a lot of really good lunch buffets there but this experience ruined it for dinners there.

Two observations.
The non smoking level should be the first level.
Enforce the wearing of mask.

I was there at around 9 to 12 on a Saturday and it was extremely crowded Wich would be expected at this time but there were a lot more people there then sourounding area casinos. There were actually some lines to get on certain machines. Any other time I've been there not on peak times it was of course less crowded and in my opinion much more enjoyable

Disappointed that the lower end 5 or 10 dollar black jack tables were non existent or so few we could not play

Clean. Lots of food and gaming options. Staff seemed great!

The most messed up restaurants I have ever seen one of their good restaurants is only open till noon the other restaurant you don't know if it's going to be open this day the next day whoever took over this place has ruined the restaurants hidden room service in a massive Hotel you can only get till 10 p.m. can you believe that

Is a hot mess every Machine that I went to did not pay my luck is not that bad.

Not giving no winner. I won't be back no time soon. The money I lost i didn't get over thirty dollars

Beautiful setting. However, the casino had very few penny machines (that are truly a penny) and was somewhat dirty between machines. The courtyard fountain was terrific!

Great place to spend time, have a drink e have fun! Super well organized, I loved it!

Beautiful Casino!!! Lots of games. Buffet was good but pricey. They allow smoking inside but with the ventilation you can't tell.

Large open floor plan casino. Poker rooms and live tables available. The facilities were clean and the staff pleasant.

While there, we enjoyed our experience. However, my brother wasn't able to get in because his dog chewed on his license and there was literally two teeth marks that didn't effect any of the important stuff. They get rude with him and told him to leave. Though he left and we felt bad we still went in and enjoyed the rest of our time.

We like the Casino but they eliminated all the $5 tables so we don't go as often as we used to for gambling. We went to the Bottleneck Blues Bar on Saturday and saw Vote for Pedro. They were alright but not as good as some of the others we've seen there. The music was more eclectic than we usually like. We prefer the 80s/90s bands.

I have always liked my visits to Ameristar. I gamble every few years, I play 21 or roulette, if I make some kind of mistake due to rarely playing I am gently corrected and never made to feel stupid for being fuzzy about the rules.

Came for the daughters birthdays. Check in was very fast and friendly. (Was not informed of the tight hours for swimming for minors) Had we known they would have no time to swim we would have gone some place else for the amount of $$ that was spent.

I did change our rating from a 2 to a 4. When we talked to the front desk the lady gave us a extra hour to check out. When we went down to swim this morning there was a lady that got us our bands to swim and she was amazing, probably one of the sweetest and most thoughtful person that we ran into during our stay.

I stayed here about 8 yrs ago. Was very nice and clean. I feel there standards have dropped off. Dust and dirt everywhere. Carpet ragged and worn. For a price of $325 total for a nite, you would think the up keep would be much better. I would like to add an addendum, I should have also stated the experience as well. As a whole, The bottleneck bar was excellent as well as the show Trixsey Delight. Loved the Glow Bar, being on the casino floor. My husband and I had a great time for the night life. That part was the 5 stars.

Suites are luxurious beautiful pools and spas. You're in paradise

Very clean rooms, cafe and casino. Loved the spacious room, comfy bed and huge bath. Location convenient. Very enjoyable time with girlfriends who were all winners in casino.

I used to enjoy Ameristar Casino it was a very fun place to go the food is great and everything like that. But ever since the city of st-charles decided that they didn't like smokers every anywhere. The casino has put the bottom half of their Casino as smoking and the top half not smoking my wife and I really enjoyed the top half of that casino and we are smokers we are not happy with the non-smoking at the top and it seems that there's less people that go because there is not enough smoking areas the last time I went. It was over half empty. And actually I've never seen it like that. My wife and I are very unhappy with this place and we're not going back. They seems kind of rude when we talked about the smoking to them. I'm sorry but that's the way I am.

GAMBLING wise not my favorite casino but hotel wise and amenities are amazing. Of course that shows in the price of even a standard room. Which the standard room provides two full or a king size bed with a flat screen TV, a sitting area with a couch and chair and coffee table and another TV is provided. The bathroom also has a TV and there is a shower and a separate whirlpool tub, two sinks and in a separate room is just the toilet. Great heated indoor and outdoor pool open year round also.

Smells awesome inside and has great suites plus the casino is one of the best in the city. Always a good time. And has a big wishing fountain great for pictures :)

I had a great stay at the hotel. Beautiful rooms. Nice and quit in the rooms. They have a lot of different options for food since the casino is right there.

The food at the buffet was pretty good. It was better than most buffets. It is also twice the price of most buffets though. The service was great though. I drink quickly, but our server was giving me refills as fast as he could. The food selection was not quite as great as I was thinking it would be . We then went into the casino for a drink and to gamble a little. The drinks are average price. The slot machines were not too great for us. I dont know that I even won on 2 spins after wasting a decent amount of money. Maybe it just wasn't our night though. All in all it was a decent evening, nothing spectacular, but decent.

First time I have ever been to a casino! It was a great experience. Very much appreciated that they had a non smoking section!

I was singing in my band at a birthday party in the Imagination Ballroom. The staff was wonderful - very helpful when we needed assistance, very courteous to both us and the guests, and never once saw them sitting around. The venue was beautiful and the guests had a wonderful time!

Worst casino I have ever patroned. I will never return. I will steer my friends away. Hollywood casino is 100X better. Go there instead.

They have truck parking. Great place to sit out rush hour and hit the tables for a few hours.

Had brunch at the buffet, was not good at all ckn was dry ckn fried steak was hard not edible some items were.not refilled ie bacon and potatoes biscuits hard and cold

The rooms are suites. Large comfortable beds, bathroom, and a sunken living room so you don't disturb anyone else sleeping. Clean rooms. Pool is both indoors and outdoors. Adult swim is available, but the sun doesn't hit the pool until later in the day. Many restaurants to eat but didn't have time to try them as we took the free shuttle to St Charles historical district.
Casino had numerous slot machines. Table games also had a variety but hard to get into some games.

I loved the look and feel of the shops and walkway. Very much like vegas. I did not go on actually casino floor as I had my entire family. Great options at buffet.

The Bakery serves ice cream until 1am and it's delightful!

What a disappointment........ met family here the day before flying out. There was nothing on their website indicating that the casino and restaurants would be closed for the day. We were told at check in about the closures and told that there would be a continental breakfast. Went down to eat breakfast, and were told they had ran out. Were told they would try to discount our room. No offers to comp a future stay or meal.... not impressed with customer service.

Room was nice and clean. I prepaid and was charged a resort fee when I checked out that was not disclosed to me upfront.

The establishment was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant eas well staffed, well lit, and well stocked.

We went for a night out at the casino. It was rainy, so we used the free valet service which was amazing. The casino wasn't overly crowded which was nice; there were plenty of empty machines to choose from. We enjoyed the free drinks and played mostly the penny machines. The only negative is that they still allow smoking, with only a tiny section designated as non-smoking.

Went to Bottleneck Blues Bar to see Trixie Delight for New Years Eve. Had an excellent time! The band was fantastic as always and the staff did a wonderful job, especially on such a crowded night. Outside the bar the casino was packed and the getting out of the parking lot took an hour which was ridiculous. My husband who is a retired firefighter ended up getting out of the car and directing traffic so everyone could take a turn to merge. If not for that we might still be there! My only suggestion would be in future perhaps the casino could provide staff to take care of this issue when they know they will be extra busy.

I like going there. The staff is wonderful. And the machines don't do bad.USUALLY.Come on in down and try your luck.

The casino is usually dirty and stinks, not in a good way. Employees are unfriendly.

Older casino needs some updates but it's worth a walk around

I would give a very low rating to food served at the sports bar or The Falcon, the buffet is tolerable at best. The upstairs dining for members that are preferred or higher is only worth it if you're starving and want to eat something free, would never pay for it. The slots fee like their set at the lowest payout percentage to meet legal standards, no matter what the casino says they are very tight slots. The rooms are not bad other than the TV remotes never work very well and sometimes the phone don't work at all.

We go here for work meetings. The place is beautiful, over the top service. Never a disappointment

I try to be as honest as I can, the food was terrible,all the times I been there the food is bad,this time someone paid for my food!The people with me also agreed!

The hotel rooms here are quite large and comfortable. There are only a couple things keeping it from a higher rating.
First the staff. Most of them were not very friendly and the CheckIn process was antiquated.
Secondly the rooms need a slight update. Many of the outlets were so loose a phone charger wouldn t stay in.

Attending "The Black Cats" after Thanksgiving party. The theme is a little black dress. My family came all out for this event.

Meticulous detail is put into every shop, sleeping area and casino area itself. The staff have been very nice. The casino is a short walk or drive to a historic downtown which hosts many great shops and restaurants.

Food places are decent and games are decent. The smoke is way too much though. It smells like and ash tray in there. It will give you a headache. ATM fee was pretty high too but that s pretty normal for a casino. Not bad but could be better.
