Very Kool place to stop for a day trip or a getaway, we took the bus tour, $20 each, stopped 4 times and driven to 5 of the 6 colonies. It was very educational.

I don't think there's all that much to see or do, but it's so peaceful. I go back every chance I get.

Great place to visit. Was there 40 years ago. Much more now. General store has a huge Christmas section. Found unique activities. Great ham salad sandwiches and strudel at bakery. Got rhubarb wine. It is sweeter than what we got 40 years ago. More drinkable now. Family friendly village.

This is a nice place to visit. They've got a lot of shops and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I found a hotel in the middle. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly.

This is am Amazing German/Amish community. Lots of shops and amazing food and souvenirs. Highly recommended

So much to see. Wineries, antiques, restaurants, bakeries, art, leather shop, yard art, coffee shops, brewery, food shops, meat shop, and many more.

Disappointed in the fact that Dave said 80% of the Amana's was open. Drove 2 1/2 hours to get there. The only thing open was retail.

Great place to visit, I recommend you stay the night. There is a lot to see in the colonies. Somewhat commercialized but still a must see.

Love the Amana Colonies. All the history and delicious food. Everyone is really nice and helpful. Great place for an afternoon trip out of the city.

Good experience and friendly store owners, had some problems with waitresses but overall a fun time. Full of events for mothers day.

In a time where Covid-19 has made us sad,,,,the Amana Colonies was a wonderful place to visit.

There's probably no place that epitamizes the character, sense of community and workmanship with the purpose of displaying artistry and a desire to present their work to God than do the people of Amana.

Have gone since I was a kid. The area has held up well.

I would recommend taking your family here. Be sure to take the van tour and tip Kirby well. He is a deep well of knowledge about the area. Tour the museum to get a a brief history about the area. Beautiful countryside veiws.

It's okay, not something I would take a family vacation for.

Awesome antique stores, German foods, great beers, great atmosphere.

Didn't see many hand crafted items. Was disappointed that the stores mostly had items I could buy at home in Kansas. But the area was pretty and we'll kept.

Seemed like a very cool community. Very nice people for sure. Save your money before visiting tho.

Allow 2 days. Spend most of your time in Amana, which has the majority of shops. All are unique and worth a look. Don't miss stopping in each and every one.

Relaxing and fun place to visit. Unique experience. So many different things to do and see. Lots of history. Wonderful restaurants.

My parents have been going here for years and I've gone a couple of times and our family absolutely loves it. Nothing beats their baked goods or food in general:-) Their hospitality in these communities is second to none. I hope to be back again soon.

Great family style food restaurants. The shops have unique finds that are quality made.

Went to Octoberfest. My recommendation is save your money and not go inside the octoberfest tent. There is live music and drinks further down the road that you don't have to pay to get in. Had a great time and loved the outdoor games.

Such an amazing place! Must go and experience fully. They have so many homemade interesting things, delicious treats, candy, food. Spend a day and see so many cool things.

I never been their before an it was really nice an food at the resturant was great to!

Fun place to enjoy a weekend, get a taste of our country's heritage and enjoy some local brews.

Lovely town, and filled with lots of different surprises, such as great beer tasting and lots of lovely wine! There are lots of fun shops and art to see and a wonderful bakery. So much history ins this little German settlement in Iowa.

Great time visiting all the different shops, had a fantastic lunch at PHAT pizza also enjoyed Millstream brewery.

Great stores. I love going to the woolers and the furniture store, of course you should also stop and buy chocolate.

Great Food, friendly people, many wonderful trinkets for everyone !!

Such a great, fun little town. I particularly love their meat shop and woodworking store. The meat shop's jerky has amazing flavor and is always very fresh (along with any other meat you buy). At the woodworking store, you can actually watch employees make products in their workshop. I got to witness some authentic cuckoo clocks (imported from the Black Forest in Germany) in action last time I was at the store.

We visited on a Weekday.Most stores are still closed. Of the shops that are open some require you to wear a face mask. Pictures from a couple of nice shops. The bakery has fresh pastries that are delicious. The other is Iron Horizon. It has some cool yard art. The owner was super friendly.

Lots of fun, and great food. I thought the place was a little expensive, but if you go to the right shops you can get a decent price.

Worth the stop to immerse yourself into another unique culture. Excellent Farm food!
