Great place to visit to shop eat drink and learn about the early days of the German settlers.

Absolutely loved it. All of the people were very friendly and welcoming. Just a little disappointed being there on a Saturday around noon and several things were closed.

Interesting combination of historical buildings well maintained alongside present day commerce. A bit too much appeared to be imported goods brought in to "fill out" the inventory. I also wish there was more historical interpretation available. Nonetheless, an intriguing place to visit.

Love the shops and dining here is a different experience

This Pizzeria is the best. We tried 4 types of pizza...all amazing. Best Red Sauce ever! Friendly and Fun which is also important to us. We were in town from Omaha NE and plan on going all the way back SOON just to try other items. While there I heard one customer say, "BEST PIZZA I ever tasted." WE AGREE!

Got a few things but next time gonna go earlier to see more stuff

Have a brewery and four wineries in the main town of Amana. The German restaurant serves excellent sauerbraten and wursts.

Cool thing to do for an afternoon. Most of the shops are pricey however the Ronneberg restaurant has awesome food!!!

This place is great. Lots of history along with some great locally made arts and crafts.

Loved it!! Shops are VERY EXPENSIVE!!!! I bought 6 turtles and 4 chocolate covered cherries and it was over $30!!!! I almost fell out!!! Delicious, but I'll not buy from the Chocolate Haus again----

The Amana colonies are a great place to visit. There are restaurants, a woolen mill, wooden furniture shop, quilting stores, lace store, chocolate shop, gem stone shop, a book store, children's toys store, and general store which has a Christmas shop within and more. It is a fun place to walk around. They have festivals at Christmas, May day, and Octoberfest. There are 5 different colonies and well worth the drive out to visit!

Great place to visit with the entire family. Interesting history, fun shops, and great food!

Millstream was excellent! Had great pizza at the wood fire pizza down the street. A great day trip!

Came here on vacation more to it than I thought would be bring money plenty of stuff to buy

Been waiting to go for quite a while and had high expectations. First found out there is hardly any parking for a large RV. So we had to walk a lot to try to see everything. Found most the items are not made by local people , but by Taiwan and China. Bought some wine what was overpriced and I have not sample the bottles I brought home. Bought some chocolate that was good but was way over priced. The bakery did not have any German bread, it was breads and pastries you can buy at any good pastry shop. We ate ate the OX **** my husband had the meatloaf witch was good, I had the sauerbraten I can make better sauerbraten, the potatoes dumpling were hard, my desert of chocolate cake, Betty Crocker box cakes are better. Have to give credit to the waitress, she was efficient and friendly. The people at the front desk were not. The worst part of the eating was they made you sit and wait for 30 minutes without adequate seating, while their were empty tables in the dining room. I guess you can say a bad experience, and we will not be back, save your money there is nothing authentic German here.

It is a beautiful little town, lots of interesting things. I was a little disappointed. I think only two of the many shops actually had handcrafted, handmade items. I still had a blast shopping with my family.

Tourist trap. Over priced. Not many family activities to do but there is a lot of shopping if you want to spend all your money.

Good historic place of I think 3 villages built on a religious beliefs and standards interesting place but very little evening activity sidewalks roll up around 5 to 6 in the evenings

I ve been working at Whirlpool for quite some time and finally had a chance to bring my family out to explore Amana. This place is definitely worth a day trip. The community has a laid back and historic feel. The houses are beautiful if you appreciate architecture. Walking the street and visiting the shops is a fun time. You have to buy a beef stick from the meat shop! SOOO GOOOOD!!

I like the antique stores. I can always find adorable things there. And the meat shop! Just can t wait to visit again.

Awesome! The bakery is amazing, opens earlier than the other stores. The general store is also great. We bought a book on the history if the colony, cant wait to read it.

Very nice shops. A little disappointing that several were closing at 4 p.m. when all ads said 5 p.m. was closei ng time. Im sure it was because there were so few customers in town due to the heat and dang COVID. All shops had sanitizer by the doors and masks mandated and available. This is a sweet town.

Went off season, but still enjoyed their general store.

The culture and spirit of the colonies was great! The food was authentic and the shops made me wish I had a semi to bring it all home!

There are so many shops here! Something for everyone. Excellent food and several locations where you can learn about the history of the people who settled the area and how they lived. Very interesting.

Went to Heritage Design...lovely quilt fabric shop.

Great service and the people are a pleasure to be around!
