Beautiful area, lovely decor in all seasons and great place to play Wizards United or pokemon go for the kids( or adults) that you want to tag along on an outting. Pretty pricey in all shops and restaurants, but a nice selection of shops from candy to wine and much much more.

This was a fun and interesting place to visit. An old German colony at first, now it is a quaint place to visit and to learn about German culture. Lots and lots of German-specific shops, restaurants and cultural-historical places to visit. There is also a free map available of The Amanas showing what is located where so you can better plan your visit.

The atmosphere is welcoming and aesthetic, the food is fresh and delicious, and the shops have such great variety of items to explore. My friend and I made sure to eat at a different restaurant for each meal, definitely worth it! We took a drive around all of the colonies, which I think is worth doing at least once, with stops at the little shops along the way.

Wurst, beer, beautiful cars and a wonderful beautiful woman almost heaven. The Amana colonies were awesome today. The Wurst festival was packed and a wonderful event. The Porches were beautiful but heads still turned as we were in the Jaguar. Cold beer and Wurst with mustard and sauerkraut, hard to beat for a summer day.

We stopped at the Millstone Brewery for a flight of beer, then walked up and down the main street browsing through the various shops. This is a great location to stop if you only have a few hours to visit the Amanas. Vintage buildings can be a challenge for those with mobility issues.
