I went to alpine valley to watch a few of my friends compete in a ski race. I myself snowboard and for the past 5 years I've found the place quite amazing. It's clean, the staff is great, and they take care of not just the customers but they take good care of the entire facility

Great place. First time there and had a lot of fun. Recommend to take the beginners class if your first time. Also the beginners pass was all I need it. Also it seems you can bring your own food. Food there is ok but cash only and is your typical fast food. Not great to refuel after snowboarding
Made a couple runs here at the end of ski season. Slopes are decent for the Midwest. A bit of a stretch to call any of them black diamonds though. Lifts are fast enough, man-made snow, and plenty of parking. The are also a couple terrain parks.
$35 for tickets, which I thought was decent.
It's a good option to get some skiing in in the Midwest. Especially if you're coming from Chicago, like I was; all the other places are at least another hour or two farther and not much, if even, better.
Went skiing here this past weekend with a troop of Boy Scouts. Conditions were great and the lifts were quick and not too crowded.
Several boys took the group lesson and the staff was patient and very helpful. They even broke the group into two half way to ensure those who were quicker to learn received more advanced help while those who needed more help received more individual attention.
Lunchtime had the food areas swamped between 12 and 1. Do yourself a favor and just wait an extra 30 minutes when the lines all but disappeared.
Food and drinks are very overpriced, as well as the stuff in the pro shop. 1 of the 3 main ski lifts, the one that goes up to the terrain park, is often not running on weekdays. This is annoying because that's the one I always go up for the terrain park, so instead I have to use a small, slow, uncomfortable, and inconvenient lift to get up to the terrain park, which then means I get less time to actually ski. The inside of the lodge isn't the best either. The bathrooms are always disgusting and not kept clean at all. However, it is probably the best place to ski in the area since this is Wisconsin.
Neat little ski hill/resort. Lines aren't bad and ticket prices are fair for what they have to offer. Definitely would recommend checking it out at least once.
I'm a beginner in ski, so I purchased a pass for the lift on the smaller slope, unfortunately they closed it(in less than one hour) because as a employee said "there were not enough skiers on that slope and is not profitable for them to keep it open! So myself and few others had to give back the equipment and hang around the whole day! I'm very disappointed! We were traveling from the gulf coast to learn how to ski, paid a plane ticket, rented a car just to get there and finally paid the rentals and a ticket for the slope just to get there and find out that it's not profitable for them to keep it operating for only few people (even though they sold the lift passes) ! So I spend my money on nothing! Didn't get a refund and didn't ski neither! Will never go back!
One of two great places to ski in southeast Wisconsin. Multiple high speed lifts and friendly layout. Gets very busy on the weekends. Highly recommend a Tuesday if you can make that work.
Very tired looking building. The parking lot is a mess. The rooms were fairly clean, but still had dust bunnies around. Lights were not working, the coffee pot was broken. The bed was very uncomfortable. We won't be back
THE WORST PLACE EVER! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SKI HERE! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SKI HERE! This place has completely disregarded the fact that they have a serious safety hazard with a river and a 10 ft embankment at the end of the runs. The protective "fence" looks like it's made out of dental floss and held up by ski poles. People have gone through the "fence" and into this river MANY times including a 10 year old who fell down the embankment with water up to his neck and had to be rescued and treated for hypothermia. After bringing this to the manager's attention, it was completely ignored, basically saying nothing more can be done. Total negligence. Couple days later, another child went into the river, ended up with a broken jaw requiring surgery, blood everywhere and other injuries. If you have so many patrons going through this "fence" and having an accident in the same spot over and over, come up with a solution to make this safer. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT SAFETY OF THEIR PATRONS! Think twice before you ski here.
Took the snowboarding lessons in the morning and was going down the ski lifts in the afternoon! Tod was my favorite instructor but all the staff we met were incredible! Overall great experience!
The ski hills are really fun. They are a bit short but the lie to the ski lift is usually not very long. There is a bar that had a live band when we were there. The drink prices are very reasonable. The rooms are not very updated if you stay at the lodge.
Came on a busy Sunday of Presidents day weekend. It was a nice day and the snow conditions were much better than I expected. The terrain park this year with the cool tunnel and everything else are extremely fun!
The ski/snowboard hills are great. If you are not an advanced rider, the beginners lift ticket will be ok for you. The beginners lift ticket permits access to a few great hills that are sure to make you have fun. Alpine Valley is a great place to go skiing and snowboarding. I would 10/10 recomend.
Came on a Wednesday and it was awesome. No lines, good snow, and nice weather. The resort has quick four person ski lifts that make quick work or any lines that may occur
NOT WORTH THE PRICE. Period. Too short of runs. Go to Cascade a few miles North or Tyrol Basin a few miles West. Better runs there for a way better price. Fast chairlifts. Thats about it. Super busy on the weekends and not enough room for all those people.
Scott Martinez was the bees knees. Took the time to explain the fundamentals. The short blonde lift operator and the dark haired dude with her were totally encouraging. The ski/snowboard instructor lady was fun and easy to talk to. If there were 10 stars I would give all 11 of them.
The slopes were pretty good. I have issue with the overpriced food and the fact that I must pay for said overpriced food with cash only. This is 2020 there are 0 excuses for not accepting credit cards other than laundering the money and being a cheap *ss. Come on if I can go to the middle of nowhere Asia and use my AMEX to pay for dinner or give a homeless person money using Zelle I can t understand why I cannot pay for food at a ski resort that accepts credit cards for the lift tickets. Stop being cheap and accept credit cards already. If this was the 90 s ok, early 00 s okay, 2020 = not okay.
Amazing place to spend the night and enjoy skiing. Hotel rates for 5 people was $132 inclusive of taxes. The skiing rate is around $66 on the weekends with the lift access. It s a great place to go and unwind. Has a full fledged bar that does not have a closing time, so that s a plus. All in all a good place for a family outing!
Very friendly staff and efficient check in. My compliments to Joy at the front desk who went the extra mile to find me an extra blanket. I'm a cancer survivor and always cold. The room was quite cold and I couldn't get warm even after adjusting the A/C. The open area and common spaces were very welcoming.
At one time this resort was probably well maintained. However, it's past it's prime. It needs some TLC, fresh paint, cleaned carpets, hair dryers, mini refrigerators. From the layout t of our room you could tell at one time held 2 queen beds. The remaining bed was not moved to make it more guest friendly. It was 6 inches from the wall. There was lots of room to gave repositioned the moved to allow for 2 nightstands and allow for easy access to the bed from both sides. Little touches were ignored, like rehanging the drapery hooks that had come off the drapery rod. We travel a lot and these are touches that show a lot about the how staff reviews the room after cleaning. The spider in the ceiling above the tub should have been taken down too. The hall where the wedding reception was held, was large and well organized for sitting, eating, and dancing. The bar was well staffed and bartenders very friendly.
We always have a great time at Alpine. My son and I are working on our skiing skills and the location and price cannot be beat. They really care about their guests.
