It's a little out of the way, but the prices are reasonable and everyone there is incredibly friendly. I bought lessons, and Tom had me linking turns before my time was up (only my second time snowboarding). I'll be going back for sure.

Snowboarded for a few hours at night, good snow, not too icy and every run was open. Lifts were quick and the lines were short. Had to pay $30 to board from 7-10 so a little expensive, but overall it's a good hill

Had not visited this venue since the 80's. Things remain much the same? At least as I remembered it. Renovations? They still have a few nails to pound in. That aside....Dead and Co. Put on a fantastic show-highly recommend going to their shows. Fab time was had eith good friends/good music.

We went mountain biking for the day. Nice trails in immaculate condition. This is a physically demanding loop. More physically taxing than technicial. At 2 bucks a trail pass it's a must visit.

Made for a great day trip from Chicago for some snowboarding/skiing! Short runs with a variety of terrains for anyone. Summer concerts at the amphitheatre, tailgating and lawn seats, are a blast.

Great local place for skiing and having winter fun. You can ski, snowboard or simple enjoy outdoors watching other people do. Great for families with kids and adults too. Visiting this place every winter for last 7 years. They have ski and snowboard rental, restaurants, small ski shop, lodging, ski and snowboard lessons and very friendly staff.

Plan on spending next Christmas here again... the Kids enjoyed the 50 degree weather while snowboarding... the drinks were great, and the Staff at Alpine are great...from rentals, to front desk, to pro shop, to bartenders and wait staff... if i could i would give more stars to Alpine... great atmosphere and alot of fun, skiing or not

A great Ski slope, I've been here many times and it always stands to test my skills as a skier in the black diamond runs! Great staff! If you go on weekdays the rates are cheap and there are so few people there are no lines, we went on a Tuesday and felt as though we had the slopes to ourselves!

A small but fun ski resort with adequate facilities. In particular the children ski school is excellent. My daughter learnt skiing in a mere two hours... Fun a clown! Literally a clown, but the clown is an instructor, a very effective and fun teacher. Accompanying my daughter, I saw how his team. And himself taught the group with great clarity and enthusiasm. Of course, as you can imagine, you'll never be bored with a clown!

The ski field is small with merely a 300 fee vertical drop, yet the facilities and well designed terrain makes it a good place to ski, and is especially suitable for those learning or honing their skills.

Because the lifts are adequate, the ride up is quick without much wait. Thus the multiple rides up and down were more pleasant than imagined.

I love coming to Alpine Valley during snowboarding season. Diverse, wide, smooth runs, friendly staff. Would have been five stars if price to portion ratio of food was better; that is definitely sub-par too say the least

The location for skiing is perfect. The room had an older TV and almost no outlet space but was clean. The price was fair for a ski resort. Overall a decent stay - but not high end by any means.

Alpine Valley is the closest, best ski area to Chicagoland. There are some larger places in Wisconsin if you're willing to drive a bit farther, but Alpine's only about an hour and a half outside of Chicago, and for that, it's great. The service is consistently solid - lift tickets and rentals go super fast. The lift lines can get long on weekends, but you don't wait for more than a couple minutes at max capacity. Restaurants can get crowded at lunch and dinner time, but service is always given with a smile. I wish they had a couple more runs just for experts, but it is what it is.

The hills were fine, it was my first time snowboarding though and the staff handing out the boots and snowboard were horrendous, immature, and completely unhelpful. We walked in and nobody said hi, until a good couple minutes of waiting. One of the guys just stood there starring at us behind the counter. Expecting us to know what to do. When the group of immature people finally stopped talking to each other about there lives, a guy said hi then asked me if I gave him the finger when I went to to use my hand to fix my hair. As were putting on our gear a guy walked in with a dog, and the group of workers all started talking to the person and the dog instead of helping people. For the price I paid to go snowboarding, I expect helpful staff. Wouldn t come back here, if that s the type of people they employ. If I didn t have a friend along who has been snowboarding, probably wouldn t have even made it to the slopes cuz they just expect everybody know what there doing. Once we got away from the employees, it was okay.

Unique golf layout, but it's certainly circus golf for sure. Wacky hole designs and tricky greens. Very tight on numerous holes, with thick vegetation just waiting to eat your poor shots.

That said, I love the scenery, the views, and the challenge. A must play in Southern WI!

Best ski resort close to Chicago. Midweek is the optimal time to go if you can swing it. No crowds and lower lift ticket prices, friendly staff. Obviously no comparison to skiing out west, but the runs are just long enough to enjoy, even for advanced skiers. Great variety of jumps, rails, and boxes in the terrain park including two separate runs. Recommend dining in the dining area on second floor, or pack your own lunch, fast food on first floor should be skipped.

Nice ski resort in southern Wisconsin. This is a perfect place for beginners as a lot of the runs are not too steep and they are wide. I like Alpine better than Wilmot as there are trees and the hill isn t so steep. This is a great place to visit if you are looking for a fun day ski trip from the Chicago area.

it's what you make of it.. it's very old and has never really been updated. there is air conditioning, and an ice maker.. it's super fun during concerts because everyone is outside mingling, and you meet so many people just like you! getting a wi fi signal is next to impossible, even though they say they have internet. there is no elevator. it is three floors. the suites are on the 3rd floor... so build up those muscles to carry your luggage up the stairs. each time i have stayed here, i have gotten lucky, and kind gentlemen have carried my luggage for me. the staff is helpful and friendly. they also have a pool area.

Some rooms had no hot water in our group.Which happened last year too. So they do not fix any of there problems. They acted like it was NO big thing. We had a Mouse in our room.It was GROSS for me. Room was clean but Rodents are unacceptable. Food was very good the first night. The second night was not good at all. Dinner rolls where old/hard as a rock. I believe they reused the ones from Friday Night. Weather was not on our side this year. So golf was Paretic in between the rain. The man always get first on everything. They Cater to the MEN for sure. Females money is the same as Males. Hotel Manager was not nice at all.

Nice ski hill close to Chicago, especially good for those learning to ski, or needed to get some rust off. By mid-day on a weekend it can get pretty busy, so stay to the chairs on the far sides for shorter lines. Not much powder obviously due to its location, so the man-made snow can be a bit icy after a sunny day, but that's going to be the same anywhere in the area.

Slopes are poorly maintained, Fairview Cafe is dirty, you cannot find a table because people use this place to store their gear and equipment. there are few people in the cafeteria but all the tables are full with clothes and shoes, disgusting. Waiting in line at the ski lift is also a bad experience, a lot of 10-18 years old kids who cut the line and show no respect. Stay away from this resort

We stayed at Alpine for a conference and booked it...

We stayed at Alpine for a conference and booked it for 3 nights. We left after the first night. I felt like we walked into 1985. The rooms were EXTREMELY outdated with very few amenities. The dinner was the worst Prime rib I've ever had. It was grizzly and tough and the cooks didn't know the meaning of "medium". The waitress told us she knew we would be trouble. They refused to refund our money. The next morning there was no hot water on the entire floor. The tvs were not working in the entire resort. When we picked up the phone to call the front desk, there was old stale smelly spilled beer in the phone base. Stay here if you feel like sleeping on a bed of rocks. It seems the owner would rather pocket the income than invest it into bettering the resort itself. If this is the way he maintains the resort, than I can only imagine how he would maintain the ski lifts. I don't know if I would ever ski here.

Had a great 2 night stay with skiing and snowboarding. Place was fun, rooms were basic and good enough, clean, everyone was nice and made sure we had a good time. Deducted one star for an issue in the upstairs dining room/bar area. Went to the 21+ area for dinner on our first night and lunch the second day. We each ordered a cherry Pepsi (grenadine with Pepsi) and wings. My boyfriend was pretty thirsty + hot wings so he went through about 4 glasses of Pepsi. Everything (service, food, etc.) was great until we got the bill and we were charged for an extra Pepsi. Brought it up to the waitress who informed us you only get one refill per drink. We reviewed the menu and it doesn t say that anywhere. It would have been courteous to inform the customer of this BEFORE you bring the 2nd refill. Wouldn t have made a difference as we would have still ordered the drink but if it s not clearly stated on the menu, I would have expected to be advised by the server. Next day at lunch, different server, same thing. Management should ensure that the staff informs customers of that additional charge! Or put a note on the menu that only one refill is included in the price. Overall, fun weekend and had a pleasant time at the resort!
