Had an amazing dinner at Alpine Haus. Several different schinitzels at the table and all of them great. The service was absolutely amazing and fun. Marie was not only attentive but funny as cool be. The picture is hard to explain but the night turned into a joke of Snow White, the evil queen and the seven dwarfs. 24 hours later and we are still talking about what a great time we had. The accordionist was entertaining as well.

Authentic Deutschland cuisine and biers; Sauerbraten, Schnitzel, Sweinbraten, Spatzle were fabulous. Those of us who lived in Germany can t but feel nostalgic; the only thing missing was family dogs under the table.

The food was authentic and delicious! Definitely make a reservation as it is a small and intimate establishment. Marshall was a very knowledgeable and pleasant server. This is a must if you are in the area!

Visited Alpine Haus with my mom and 5 year old son. We saw in a review that it was "adult atmosphere" so I was a bit nervous about taking my son. We had a WONDERFUL experience. No it's not a loud environment where kids can be kids but if your kids can be polite and sit through a meal without being obnoxious then it's great. The food was amazing! My mom goes to Germany twice a year and said it's the best German food she's had even counting what she's had in Germany. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We have already recommended it to friends and will keep doing so!

It was my first time trying German food and it was so flavorful and delicious. We had the Fried Brie Cheese to start and it was amazing. Perfectly fried on the outside and so creamy and gooey in the inside. I had the ZIGEUNER SCHNITZEL, and all I can say is WOW! I'm so happy we made the drive to New Braunfels to try out this restaurant.

If I had more self control I would have posted pictures of the beautiful and delicious food but instead I was to busy moaning in delight as I stuffed my face! Truly amazing food. Get the steak wrap with bacon, onions and gravy inside.

We just finished eating at Alpine Haus for our 12th anniversary. I could not wait to write them a review. I will say that we almost didn t sit down to eat after getting a very chilly reception by the manager but I m so glad we stayed!!!
Forget the manager, the food here is ridiculously fresh and flavorful!! All made from scratch and simply perfect!! Definitely order the fried Brie and fried mushrooms, holy moly these were insanely delightfully yummy!! The jager schnitzel and spaetzle did not disappoint either. Wow, just wow!! For the wait staff (thanks for a great time Connor) and delectable food, I d love to give this place 5 stars. Can t because of the female manager s impoliteness but otherwise this place is a 10/10!!

If you're looking for a quaint authentic German restaurant this is the place! Nestled in-between downtown New Braunfels historical sites you'll find Alpine Haus. A treat for any occasion. Live traditional german folk music on the accordion brings everything to life and sets the ambiance of this neat atmosphere. We brought a German friend with us and he gave it two thumbs up! Little bit of a wait to get in so call ahead with a reservation if possible. The wait wasn't too bad though sitting outside under the oaks. The fresh smell of the authentic german food filled the air. Highly recommend and definitely worth the trip.

Awesome place for date night. The Fried Mushrooms were an awesome appetizer and huge for the price, the Schnitzels were amazing, the beer pairing recommendations were spot on, and having a gentleman playing German songs on an accordion really topped the night off. You cannot go wrong with Alpine Haus.

Being stationed in Europe for over 6 years in the 80s, I know what good food is suppose to taste like. This kind of food is actually disappearing in Germany, being replaced by fast food and other influences. It is rare indeed in this day and age you can visit an establishment that so captures the essence of what one was missing being away for so long. I felt transported back in time with not only the food but the atmosphere, music and wonderful service. A quaint place great for a date, hard to find unless you know where to look. Well worth the visit if you are needing that certain "Euro" fix. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, make a reservation.

Having lived in Germany I can tell you that the food here is nothing special. It s authentic German, nothing fancy, but there are other options that don t cost $100 for a dinner for two. Some staff were friendly, others were rude and seemed very comfortable with their job security. Family members of the owners perhaps? I don t think we ll be back.

Closest traditional German food we have had since moving here from Germany. Food was good, staff wasn't too friendly. Restaurant was clean and nice decor. A little pricey compared to other German Restaurant's, but food was the best of the 3 we have tried.

Ordinarily I really love German food, but I was especially craving it since getting back from a trip to Munich and Frankfurt. This hit the spot and was very authentic. The fried brie cheese with toasted almonds and jam went perfectly on the More

If you're going out for authentic German food, you can't do better than Alpine Haus. Fine beer and wine selection and top shelf service as well. Very much looking forward to our next trip there so we can try more menu items.

Food was good, but very small portions for us. Table next to us seemed like regulars and had much larger portions of the same meals. Service was just ok. Probably won't be returning to this restaurant again, based on the portions and the prices being so high for just decent German food with small portions. Was not impressed.

Ok, let's see here? Want to be fair,, I wood never go back there! The service was bad.! Took forever to get a refill, and to get the food ; and when I got my food I was surprised at the plate I ordered ,: it look like a kid's plate! Very little food on the plate! Took my dad for his birthday! And he saids the same thing. He's saids ( rip off) . ( 60.00). For two.! Very little portions....

Definitely a German restaurant. Complete with everything you would expect to find on the menu at a German restaurant. Even had live entertainment. The accordion player donning his lederhosen. Great date nite and special occasion resturant.

Amazing everything! First bite of my entree, I was transported to my Oma's kitchen, and I was a child again. It brought tears to my eyes in a most surprising, joyful, and delicious way! Danke, Alpine Haus! I can't wait to return.

Very good German Restaurant. I love German food, and most places have the standard fair, but nothing outside the ordinary. Alpine Haus has some more specialize plates, and they try to keep it authentic. This location is very hard to find, and you may need to circle the block to get your bearings. I had the Rinder Rouladen which was fantastic. This is also not a cheap eats and most meals are $20 or more. They do have Sandwiches for under $15. They do have a nice setup, and I would be happy to take my wife and start a nice evening here.

I've eaten here five times and four out of five have been a disappointment because their so-called German cuisine falls well short of German authenticity. I've posted over 100 Google reviews and most are 4-star ratings. I gave this place two stars because that's exactly what it deserves. The schnitzels are good, but any restaurant can make a good schnitzel. Everything else on the menu is a failure. Tried the Schweinebraten with the potato dumplings again... to see if there was any improvement, but it turned out even worse. It's something a little better than a Banquet frozen dinner. The pork loin and gravy was flavorless, and the potato dumplings were just mashed potatoes rolled into little balls. Pitiful. If you can't be authentic, take it off the menu! One positive note: the Fried Brie appetizer is fantastic. They have a good selection of bottled beers but nothing on tap. The ambience is nice, which is probably the reason why most people are duped into giving this place a 5-star rating. I came for authentic German cuisine and this is not the place for that. Bottom line: For truly authentic German cuisine, go somewhere else.

Was happy about the choices on the menu and the flavor of the food. But then I was shocked when I found a hair in my Alpine Delight.
Since it was dessert time, it was hard to get a staff member to come to the table, finally I flagged someone (not our waiter) to the table. She seemed upset for me and brought me another (smaller) piece of dessert.
The manager never came to my table to apologize or even offer to give a discount. I would have at least wanted the dessert free, if not my whole meal.
I mean come on,.....how gross it that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The food otherwise was tolerable,....but since no one came to me to apologize, i would have rated this place "0" stars if I could have!!!!

I was really looking forward to this place since it had such great reviews, but left a little disappointed. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, but the entree was so tasteless. It had no flavor. The German potatoes that came as a side however were pretty good. If you're coming to try out there chicken schnitzel, I'd suggest trying something different.
