This is a beautiful property with well-appointed rooms. I also love the location in the heart of Sausalito with amazing views. I was not impressed with the service. Upon check-in, my room had still not been cleaned from the previous person. The valet was not readily available several time throughout the stay. Just some basic service misses that any spa hotel should not allow.

Rooms were average, and we could hear everyone walking past our room during our stay. The Spa was under construction and unavailable for use (wish we knew ahead of booking). Staff was 5/5 stars superb. The Valet workers were friendly and kind, while the front desk was helpful and accommodating. Staying here was nice, very walkable to great food options and sights.

I rented a suite for my daughter's graduation night, to have a nice change of scenery.

I called the hotel to see if I could checkin early to decorate before her ceremony bc our dinner reservations were an hour after the ceremony. They tried to be accommodating but said they couldn't due to someone was in the suite still. I felt uneasy about that especially bc their website states they space bookings 48 hrs apart & hotels.com says a minimum 24 hours apart. I was going to be in a room that someone was in 3 hours before my stay. I thought maybe it would be extensively cleaned after that guest...

When I checked in the front desk staff was very nice and I asked about the policy & why it wasn't enforced. They let me know the guest before me didn't check out when they were supposed to and stayed additional nights but not to worry they "rewrapped the remote".

I couldn't believe what I was hearing but I wasn't going to give the front desk attitude bc it's not their fault they run the front desk not the whole establishment.

Isn't it the business properties obligation to tell the guest they can't stay additional nights bc the room is rented after them and they have a strict cleaning process due to covid-19? I got to the room and it wasnt cleaned well at all. Finger prints on all the doors, Gatorade cap peeking from under the bed, soda or something brown splattered on molding where day bed is and crumbs on the piping of the day bed cushion and kinda dusty. I looked up their availability on their website and they didn't have any other suites available so was in a bind.

I had to spend the 30 mins I had to decorate trying to wipe down areas with wipes and decorating. I only took a few photos bc I was worried about cleaning and decorating in the small amount of time I had to not ruin her night that was already altered due to these times.

I really expected more from an upscale property and in Marin county.

Stayed at Casa Madrone in September 2019- Was truly dissatisfied since the hotel room's AC was so loud that I could not sleep and once turned off, a terrible odor spread within my room. An odor I smelled in the hallway before. Strongly recommend considering another hotel.

Excelente pace few minutes away from Golden Gate park. Hotel was under construction and even that was not capable to sent the quality of rooms, incredible landscape and blooming flowers everywhere. Plenty of places around to grab a quick bite or sit down with a book and a cup of coffee. Unless you must stay in downtown, Cass Madrona is a great alternative to lodging in San Francisco.

Absolutely the best. When traveling to San Francisco we always stay in Sausilito. The Casa Madrona is our favorite as we always get a bay view room which has a balcony. The view is outstanding. The service has always been impeccable, rooms are updated and very contemporary.. Downstairs you will find Poggio's which is a great bar and restaurant. One can pay to valet park, or there is a very large pay lot across the street. Oh yeah....and it is Sausilito, what could be better?

1 year later, I just have to say, I keep coming back to this place to see Akane. I'm only in town a few times a year, but one of my first priorities is finding a time to see her to get a massage. She's thorough, attentive, unbelievably kind, and always full of great recommendations to care for my sensitive body. I just can't get enough!

Very convenient location. We followed a GPS from SFO. Took us through downtown SF. I think there is a better way so do just a bit more research regarding directions. The place was wonderful. Big rooms. The staff was generally very helpful. We had an issue that was not resolved to our satisfaction. At check out they credited us for 3 days parking and one night stay. Very nice. When they didn't deliver they stood behind their promise of quality. Rare these days.

This hotel is ideally located in Sausalito, a short walk away from most shops and restaurants. The Bay is just opposite the hotel, offering nice waterfront walks and great vistas of Angel Island and SF across the water (depending on where you stand). The hotel is very modern - my room was very pleasant and clean. It was one of the rooms accessible by a flight of stairs directly from the street. While this was not dramatic, it felt a little bit more exposed and noisy than other rooms in the complex. If I come back I will try to get a room in another part of the hotel. The conference facilities were very nice for our group of some 25 people. The Spa was under renovation, but this did not cause any inconvenience and the hotel provides treatments in the rooms during this period.

There was held a very loud wedding party until 10pm on the Saturday night we stayed. No way. Also, many of the clerks were unprofessional. This hotel is good only because of its good location and quality of the facility. Also, be careful with the room dining which delivers dishes very slow. The clerk said it would come in 20 minutes, but we waited over an hour.

Great experience! Cute hotel boutique. Located in the heart of the town in walking distance to shops and restaurants. Room was clean and spacious. Modern look with possible orginal furniture, bathroom with shower and tub. Room 400 has a great patio view of the bay. Walls are thin you can hear guest in the hallways. Would definitely return.

We left for the day and we returned to our hotel room at 9 pm, the room had not been cleaned. For the price we are expected to pay, this is unacceptable. Good location but terrible service. They are definitely not up to the standard they claim to be.

The hotel itself is a nice, clean building with all of the rooms facing inside in a square, which helps to block out the fact that you're in the heart of LA. It has good freeway access, interior parking with 24 hour video surveillance. The room features a lot of higher quality materials with a very elegant touch. There is a big mini fridge in the room and other nice amenities, and the towels are actually beige not white (a rarity).

The staff is friendly, and the price is good (ordered on hotels.com, and it was the cheapest place to stay in that area by a good margin except for Motel 6 type places).

Such a pleasant surprise eating here. It looks very stuffy from the outside but actually has a really interesting menu & delicious food. The highlight on our table was the saffron seafood risotto with mussels the size of Arnie s biceps. Other favourites were the pizza and the beef raghu with spinach gnocchi / pasta balls. Anchor Steam beer is great!

While I would hope in most instances we would have had a pleasant stay, my 2 night stay this first week in April 2018, I found myself paying luxury pricing for a lodging which was less appealing than a stay at the local motel.

If I had been prewarned that I would need to enter through a back aisle, surrounded by tarps and dust, and be awakened at 8am by painters peering in our room from lifts outside, I would have paid a fraction of the price at the place down the road. I would have been better off.

A discount for the inconvenience? Maybe even a bottle of wine in our room for compensation? Actually, as we entered our room at 4:30pm the maid service was still in it. We had to wait in the hall for a few minutes so they could finish.

I was more than disappointed.

What a wonderful experience. We stayed at Casa Madrona last weekend and it is a great hotel in a great location. The staff was helpful beyond expectations and the room was comfortable and very clean. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the ferry to San Fran.
A great getaway and very friendly to pets

Nice location. Very convenient with easy access to downtown Sausalito. The front desk staff was really helpful and friendly. We had some room changing requests and she was very accommodating. The interior design was nice also, very clean.

I was so hoping for the 5 star experience. And they did give us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. But the room I booked is not the room advertised on the website. The bed was hard, the pillows were hard, the toilet paper was like wiping with a paper towel, there were no soaps to wash our hands, no trash can, no robes and slippers as advertised and lastly no tub. I booked the room with a tub and balcony. Our room didn't have either one. When I told the girl at the desk last night she said all the rooms are decorated differently. An odd thing to say considering a tub isn't a decoration and had nothing to do with the missing toiletries. I will say though that there is a very sweet woman who works there who is more mature in years. She was lovely and if I could give her 5 stars, I would.

The hotel location is perfect. Easy walking everywhere downtown. We had a beautiful and modern room with great amenities which I expect for the cost for the room. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We stayed here as part of a wedding party but would definitely come back on our own in the future.

I want to thank Casa Madrona for all their help in canceling my prepaid reservation. The staff were extremely friendly and understanding and actually worked with me to refund the entire amount even thought the reservation was through a third party. I look forward to rebooking my stay (this time directly through the hotel!)

Extremely understaffed. We did not feel welcome.

Extremely understaffed. We did not feel welcome.
We had a prior stay at this location and remember a great service in the past and that was the reason why I booked this hotel again, however this was a total disappointment. While paying $600 per night, we expect at least some level of service provided by the staff.
1) While making a reservation directly with the hotel, I end up waiting over 23 minutes just to get a question answered and still was answered incorrectly.
As we pulled in, I parked the car in front of the Valet, Gentleman looked at us and continued with his phone call. We got out of our car unloaded the luggage and eventually asked him if he is willing to help with the car. Only then he took the car and while seeing us carrying our luggage, did NOT offer any assistant.
We walked in to the registration, No welcome, No Smile and still did not offer any assistance with Luggage.
We took the elevator to 4th floor and carried the luggage another 2 level up to 6th on stairs.
No one walked us to our room.
Later that night called the Valet to pull the car, Front desk answered and said she will help. 20 minutes later we still waited for the car looking for an attendant. Finally someone walked from cross street and said the car was never called.
On Saturday night called room service to order Breakfast for the morning, I was told to call back in the morning. Called in the morning 3 times and keep getting transferred and eventually was told Sorry we are understaffed.
I booked the Mansion Suite for 3 people, There was no pillow or blanket in the room for the 3rd person on sofa bed.
No turn down service in the evening.
It is a shame how your management team are destroying the reputation on this beautiful hotel.
You are charging 5 star Hotel pricing and providing a motel level service.
I feel cheated and over charged.
Btw. Sent this feedback to General Manager but didn't get a response.

Beautiful hotel in Sausalito in walking distance to almost everything. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I was in a lower level unit and the street noise was heavy at times but not terrible. Poggio, the restuarant below the hotel is very nice but the staff appear unorganized at times.

Note: Triple check your towels before you use them, the first one I went to use had a crumpled used lint sheet in it.
Otherwise everything was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I slept very well during my time there!

Tip: a 10 minute walk away is a delicious breakfast spot that opens at 7am called Cibo. I recommend checking it out!

Room was nice but expensive. Service seemed fine until I checked out. I asked to switch the charge from my girlfriends card to mine, and I was told that is no problem at all. That was a lie. They charged my girlfriends card 3 times for the 542$ room and my card once for 542$. A week later, I ve emailed twice, called 3 times, and left messages for management that have gone unanswered. They ve managed to refund two of her charges but there is still a charge on her card as well mine. I m at a loss for words. For a proper hotel, this is unacceptable.

Update: I finally got a hold of a manager and after a brief call she sent an email of all the transactions and how they eventually balance out . No apology, no explanation of what went wrong, and no attempt to make it right. I m sure many of their clients are millionaires who don t care about multiple charges but for some people 542$ is a lot of money and charging that 3 times to ones card in error is not acceptable.

Update2: They still have charged both our cards $542.90. I m emailing and calling again. This is ridiculous!

Casa Madrona is a very worthy home away from home ...

Casa Madrona is a very worthy home away from home in many ways, it has inspired my next house!! Chew on that...

Things we loved:

Our king bed, the 2 person tub, the cavernous shower, the studio-apartment-sized bathroom, the correct-sized Samsung SmartTV to view from bed (70 ), the valet service (maybe my favorite service at the hotel), the quiet rooms, the incredible service, the just-the-right-amount attentive staff, and the view from our room (that was upgraded for free on arrival).

Suggestions (and perhaps things I overlooked before booking):

During our stay, the spa was closed for renovation and the hotel itself was under construction. But know when I say under construction we are talking light remodel here. We never heard any of the noise from our room when our balcony door was shut and one morning our view of the lovely little cherry tree in spring bloom was marred by an orange piece of construction machinery that was gone the next day. Our interaction with the hotel was impacted very minimally. We were not here, though, as many are, for the spa experience. That was closed for the entirety of our stay and we do not remember seeing this posted on their website or any marketing materials. If it was posted and we missed it, that is, obviously, on us, but if that *is* the case, perhaps the placement of this inconvenience that may or may not dramatically impact one s overall stay would be more helpful if it were more obvious.

Fabulous location, modern yet cozy. Would absolutely revisit.

My husband and I stayed here last week on the first leg of our honeymoon and it was heaven. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the waterfront as well as a fireplace. It was immaculate, the products in the bathroom were local and smelled delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I would 100% love to come back to Sausalito and stay at the Casa Madrona... Maybe on our anniversary (One can hope).

The reception is still in full work. However, the rooms are very comfortable. Beware however, there is no other restaurant in the hotel but there is a partnership with a restaurant in the same building. Be careful also the parking is not included basic but there is a valet service.
