WOW, excellent meal.

WOW, excellent meal.

We started with the most flavor filled Roasted Garlic Soup.

My sister had the Rinder Goulash. Said it was some of the best beef tips, so tender. The noodles could not have been any better.

I had the Rahm Schnitzel (pork). It was so tender & crisp with the perfectly seasoned Sour Cream Gravy.

My partner had the Chicken Cordon Blue and said the ham was exceptional atop the moist chicken.

Our sides were fried potatoes, sauerkraut, red cabbage and spatzel. ALL are exceptional. The Swirled Rye Bread is very tasty.

We shared an Apple Strudel w/ ice cream for dessert. Fabulous end to an amazing meal.

They do take reservations, which I highly recommend.

Staff is knowledgeable, friendly & courteous.

There is a huge wine & beer selection. Not to mention the sausage selection.

This is a must if you are visiting New Braunfels. We drove down from Austin for Sunday lunch.

What an absolute little slice of heaven. A glass of Ayinger beer with a big plate of jager schnitzel and some wonderful yodeling and Oompah. Makes me wish I had some lederhosen. I thoroughly enjoyed myself

Set in an historic home, we were greeted and served by a friendly and professional staff, serenaded by accordian and German songs while we enjoyed a delicious authentic German meal, accompanied by a great selection of German beers and wines. There was just too much for us to enjoy in one visit, we're going to go back

No air conditioning. It was hot in the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our waitress did a great job checking on us and keeping our drinks refilled. Unfortunately the food was under seasoned and they got three of our orders wrong. Did not live up to the reviews we had read. The best part of the meal was their homemade desserts.

Visited today Tues 11/5/19@noon & ordered my usual chicken cordon bleu. A year ago, I used to visit regularly traveling from San Antonio but Unfortunately today s experience wasn t the same being less than expected. When I arrived.. there were only a few customers & was seated immediately but the server seemed to be unavailable but eventually appeared. Ordered garlic soup instead of salad but it was delivered with the consistency of very thick gravy in which I could only tolerate a few spoonfuls & when the receptionist took my bowl, I mentioned it was like gravy in which she said it was a little thick today . Then when the server brought my chicken cordon bleu plate out I immediately noticed the dish was different & had changed from when they used to have an entire length of plate chicken with the ham & Swiss cheese atop instead of the now tiny little piece of chicken with the cheese & ham inside but they conveniently placed the gravy bowl inside the dish to make up the room when larger portions of chicken filled the plates. For this review I attach today s time/dated pic of the new small portion in comparison to the numerous past plates that were much more generous. For $23 dollar lunch it s a bit disappointing to realize the food & portions have changed that much in just a years time. Certainly Not worth my traveling from San Antonio anymore. Good luck folks.

Can't rate the food because we never got that far. Two of my friends and were driving to San Antonio from Dallas and decided to have lunch in New Braunfels. We decided on this place because we thought it would be fun to have something different. We walked in and were ignored for at least 5 minutes at the door. Finally an older lady with short blonde hair said she'd prepare a table for us. While we waited (another 5 minutes) one of my friends went to the restroom. The blonde lady came up again as if she'd never seen us before and asked if we needed a table for 2. When we told her no, for three, she rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated grunt. We were taken to a table and completely ignored for another 15 minutes.

We left.

Had dinner at Rosario's in San Antonio. I'll give that place 5 stars.

The food was PHENOMENAL, the atmosphere was amazing, the gentleman playing the accordion was engaging and beyond fantastic. If i lived near here I'd eat here weekly. 5 stars isn't enough: 10/10

Best German restaurant in new Braunfels! Set in quaint little historic house. Red cabbage and Spatzle tastes just like my moms! Favorite place to take my out of town guests. Reservations highly recommended due to size.

Great place for authentic German cuisine! Best schnitzel in Central Texas! I've tried the rest this is the best. I also recommend the fried brie appetizer and the strudel for dessert. I recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends. Prost!

The restaurant was spotless, the staff excellent. The food was good too. I just felt that it was overpriced. The beer was cold and lots of choices. Servings were small for the high prices.

If you are looking for good German fare in New Braunfels - THIS IS IT! Visited on Sat June 30, 2018. Recommend making reservation but we didn't and were seated efficiently. Very quaint location just off downtown. Service gets a 9 out of 10 (I rarely give a 10 for anything) and the fare gets the same. Appetizer was the Fried Mushrooms with creamy horseradish sauce excellent! Ordered the Wiener Schnitzel *HF with Pork was absolutely worth the $23 but get the red cabbage instead of sauerkraut (on the left in the picture). My gal got the Huhnerbrust Geschnetzeltes and it hit the mark as well A 9 of 10. Beers were, well I can t remember but they were good too. The young man playing the squeezebox (aka accordion ) put on a great show and earned a good tip. Lived in and around NB for 20+ years and this place was a good find and is DEFINITELY A DO-OVER.

We drove all the way there from Bulverde, only to find out they were full with reservations. We had searched their website and we didn't see anything about reservations. Turns out that if you click just the right think, there is a number that says call for reservations. They probably should have something on their main page that days they take and you should make reservations.

Good good, BIG PRICE !! I asked for a different sauce that came on a different meat that I was having and they said they could do it and it was really tasty. However imagine my SHOCK when the bill came and I was charged $10 for that sauce besides the price of my plate without the original sauce that came with it !?!!!?!! The half rye bread was quite tasty.

10 minute wait to be greeted

10 minute wait to be greeted
No AC
No straw for tea
Only bottled beer
Out of first beer choice
Slow service, never checked on our food, forgot saurcraut
Canned sodas for $2.99
Coke was bad - not sure if it was flat or what but my daughter said it tasted bad and when I tried it, I agreed.
High chairs, but no kids menu - waiter told us we could order the $18.99 snitzel and get fries.
Lunch menu takes up more of the menu than the entrees, but you can only get them week days until 2.
Over cooked chicken and pork, cheese had cooked out, ham had no flavor, tiny portion.
Black forest cake claimed fresh whipped cream, cheap "elite" whipped cream, only on outside, not in-between.
Pictures looked much more traditional, General Manager told us that they would have a new website soon with new pictures.
Table behind us asked, "what wine DO you have?"
Another table waited so long for drinks the husband made sure grab a business card and said that he "be in contact with owner."
Yet another couple had to flag down hostess to have her tell their waiter that they were over charged.

I'll never be back.
