Gorgeous place with amazing sights, water features and amazing staff. Would definitely recommend it to anyone!
The garden is separate from the castle and you pay separately to visit the garden and there is no connection to the castle via the garden. The garden is in many ways a classic castle garden but there are some experiences for children that make it more adventurous.
The Poison Garden is a 20 minute tour of a smaller garden with only poisonous plants. The toxic garden will probably be less interesting for children.
The fountain in the garden runs every half hour if you want to see it.
Loved it. Kids loved it. Alnwick castle is a good place to go to
Wonderful place for a family day out. You can have a great day out where children can run around and interact with different sculptures in the garden. When I was there it was a lord of the rings theme day with people walking around the More
Lovely gardens. Play area for kids. A lovely quiet room for over 55's.
Lovely place, walker friendly and motorscooter friendly. The only place you can't scoot is up the side of the water feature that runs from a trickle at the top to a fountain at the bottom,it even puts on a water display.
When walking around the garden keep an eye out for the giants, they make you feel a little like a Fraggle and the Rose garden is lovely. We saw it after some naffy weather so they were a little rough but still looked lovely.
They have a seating area and restaurant where you can enjoy watching the fountain over a drink and snack. We took our own and had a nice picnic on the grass area.
We went in winter so could not visit the castle, but we had a great family day out in the gardens with the kids having a good run around and blowing off energy. We did a trail which kept them interested. The cafe was good too and we loved the look of the treehouse although there was no seating left to give it a try for a snack or drink.
The only couple of issues were one of the parts of the park didn't work - was meant to play a sound but it didn't. Also, the end of the trail organised that day was a bit of an anti climax.
We would definitely go again but would want to build in the castle next time too.
Great place for a walk and fresh air my kids love it.
Nice gardens but nothing special. I'm sure it's better in the summer but I think labelling it as the Winter Gardens means there should be a bit more to it. Overall nice day though.
Staff was incredibly helpful - we dropped my daughter's jacket and they want out of their way to locate it and send it back after I messaged them. Kids loved the bubble display
Stunning layout with plenty of novel resti g stops. Take a book or magazo e and relax to the sound of flowing water in the ornamental gardens.
A must place to visit. A modern garden in a historic setting.
Lovely place, you can see huge amount of work put into this project. Poison Garden is definitely worth to visit, during the peak it can be long waiting list so its the best to go there asap and book your place. Interesesting and advertising with good guide such as we had :)
Stunning gardens, would highly recommend you to visit.
Unfortunately, the time to see the Castle and gardens was not there so I opted to visit the Castle. But I could peek in the fabulous gardens ... and for what little I saw, they deserve so much.
Lovely gardens. Great for kids. A little pricey for repeat visits
Weather was not bril but our family and young children with special needs had a lovely time exploring the extensive garden, maze, fountains (prepare for kids to get wet, change of clothes and towels advisable). Unfortunately due to covid the guided tour of the poison garden was not available but they had QR codes with audio link and staff who could answer questions.
2hrs at least is needed to see all.
The kids enjoyed the dinosaur hunt event.
Parking is not included in the ticket price.
The Alnwick Garden, situated near to the castle is a great day out for the family if the weather is good.
It was a very hot day when we were there, and kids were enjoying playing in the fountains and running about. There are also treasure hunts and dressing up for the little ones.
For the grown-ups, the gardens are simply stunning, and there are nice restaurants, good facilities, and a large grass area for picnics.
Also, visit the ice-cream kiosk just outside the entrance to the gardens. The ice-cream is superb and good value for money.
Why not 5 stars? To be honest, we've also visited on a dull rainy day, and felt we wasted our money. You really need the weather to play ball to enjoy this attraction at its fullest.
Well worth a visit ....the experience is of one's own choice ...car park with a ten minute walk from castle ....the tree house looks amazing you can buy tickets online or pay at door .
The garden ia lovely and you can spend even a whole day here
Excellent family day out - lovely gardens, good trail for the children who also enjoyed the bonus of crazy golf, decent food in tree house restaurant.
Beautiful gardens and shop, expensive and not dog friendly
Lovely spot. Easy to spend a day here. A bit expensive if you go round all of it. Plenty of places to eat and drink.
Great gardens lots to see and do. Kids loved all the activities and things to find
A very nice place to go with all the family and there is lots to see and explore. Our 4 year old daughter really enjoyed our time here seeing the different water features and plants. I also had the tour of the poison garden worth as they give some very interesting information.
They had some very nice Halloween decorations spread out all over the gardens.
Very festive, ice rink an extra charge 4 skates, Visit Santa was fully booked so disappointing grandson, an inflatable snow globe for photo opportunity also an extra charge.
The place is amazing,. Gardens are accessible to all with so much to see and do.
Best and most interesting gardens we've wandered round
Changes each year and from season to season. Love the place.
These gardens include perfectly manicured pristine areas, as well as rambling tracks through densely wooded areas with flowers growing madly. These tracks open out onto an area with a ton of swinging chairs, all within dense green, with winding paths that have a bench at the end of every zig and every zag.
Chill place to walk the gardens or fun place to get lost in a labyrinth and muck about in fountains. Nice big lawn for a picnic.
Another first for me Alnwick Garden's.
It was a excellent day out.
Excellent scenery I thought the water features were brilliant.
I learned quite a lot whilst I was there we done a competition all about how old the gardens were and how it came about.
I even went around the poison gardens with a member of staff who told us all about what the plants were and how poisoness they were and what they were used for in medicine's.
Lots of gift shop's on site also cafeterias
The staff are very professional and very helpful and polite realy good day out for young and old.
Large car park.parking spaces for disabled parking and mini buses.
Wheelchair access from car park to the garden's.
Pop along and enjoy the day.
BILLY.
Amazing Gardens, Fun for everyone, beautiful flowers, Excellent fountains and Amazing Tours. Really recommend the Poison Garden Tour, fascinating. The Mini Golf is great too, loads of fun and beautiful set up! Fabulous Day out!
Fantastic place to visit on a summer's day, particularly the water fountains
Stunning modern landscaped gardens. Well worth visiting.
Very nice friendly place to visit with the family. A little expensive for entry with a family which is why I give 4 stars rather than 5. Plenty of facilities inside with lots to do. We had a great day, my family loved it.
Not the biggest garden, but what a beautiful, interesting place to walk round. The poison garden and water sculpture area were my favorites.
Lovely garden and castle. Expensive? Oh, yes! But it really is worth it. Allow at least four hours for a quick look around, we were there for most of the day.
A lovely place to visit in the summer. And the pheasants are friendly.
Open again following lock down. One way system in operation, but still a great place to visit. Currently you need to book in advance so beware of you are planning a visit.
Staff were exceptional! They did everything they could to be of help. What a great experience.
The Garden was it's usual perfection with signs of hedge trimming having taken place and would do so for another few days.
I love the Garden and the Pavilion.
Thank you for making it possible for me to attend.
As long as the weather is ok you will have a great time, There is food available, but it's lovely for a picnic
It is a nice place, but crowded. I think it is more atractive place for chldren than adults but anyway worth to see
Great garden ,poison garden a must ,visited in constant rain but still wort while thought it was expensive
We love visiting Alnwick Gardens especially when they have special events on
Nice place to walk around, the area is a decent size and has nice water features and a large picnic area but also has a cafe for coffee/food
Great place to visit for some outdoor fun. The Poison Plants garden was really interesting. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Would recommend
