Exotic vets are good but staff and junior doctors not professionals in case of emergency. We lost our bunny because of their lack of care

Got our little puppy spayed at ABVC. The team was amazing and helped guide us through the entire process. The operation was done so well and our puppy was back to her naughty self within Two days. We are really happy with ABVC and will keep bringing her their for all our veterinary needs.

I can enthusiastically recommend ABVC to all who are looking for loving and comprehensive care for their pets. My cat (Twinkle) developed an issue non-stop diarrhea over 2 years ago, and our previous vet was not taking the time to understand or treat the issue. we wasted lots of money and time between many vets and nothing working. A month ago my husband looked for a vet who was open just to have deworming for our cat. Dr. Michael took the time to listen about our situation and he asked the right questions to find a treatment plan, all while trying to keep our costs low. My greatest compliment is that he clearly communicated about the issue, which has been my problem with other vets for over 2 years. In a rush-rush profit driven world, Dr. Michael treated a new patient (our cat) with love and attention like he was his own cat.

Have been a customer for the past four years and never had any problems or complain about them the staff are super friendly and the doctors are experienced and always answer my questions in clear, simple and professional way.

Amazing team...take care of your pets as their own. Highly recommend them.

I'd recommend this place to all pet parents. I had my dog Oreo neutered there without any hassle. The next day he was up and about like nothing happened. Apart from that my dog had ingested a rusty thing and we were at the verge of losing him due to peritonitis. I went to 2 doctors before that in my area, but both told us off saying that he just had gastric issues. At ABVC, they immediately figured out it was something more serious and due to their quick diagnosis and surgery, we got our Oreo back. We are extremely grateful to all the staff there, right from the front desk staff to the vet assistants to the doctors who were very kind, patient and cared for Oreo just like their own. Special mention to Dr. David and Dr. Metje who performed the surgery and always kept us posted of everything happening with him while he was there. Thank you all.

Again very pleased with the service we received for our dog. Staff are very calm and efficient in handling the dog and as a result the dog itself is also calm and relaxed during the examination. Can definitely recommend!

Dr.Alexandra seems to know her profession very well, and knows how to interface with the clinics clients very satisfied with her attendance.

My King Charles had been suffering from a recurring anal gland infection. After the third visit to Al Barsha vet, with the infection not being cleared by antibiotics, it was recommended to us to have the sacs removed with surgery. Even if I was reluctant because of the anesthesia and my dog's age (8 years old), it wasn't good for him to have an infection and take so many antibiotics all the time. Surgery was quick, drop him in the morning and was able to pick him up by 6 pm. He left the vet walking, a bit groggy as a result of the anesthesia. After a good night sleep, he was already playing and running the following morning. No side effects, no pain, no scratching. Best decision we ever made. Dr Mehdi did an amazing job

They have two good vets but the management and responsiveness is sooo poor. Each time I have to send several reminders on WhatsApp for them to answer me. While all other clinics are super active and answer immediately. Been 4 days now no answer!

ABVC is 5-star care for your pet. The vets are top-notch and passionate about the care they give. I have adopted 2 cats from ABVC; an emergency situation I faced with one of them was dealt with swiftly and adequately. Most recently I have been amazed by their care for a desert-found rescue dog, who they have been able to operate on during foster care while finding a new home for him. The love this team has for your pets is just unparalleled.

Always heard "good" things about this place and so I decided to check it out myself. Before taking my dog for a regular check-up, I decided to visit the place first. I reached at 6:30 PM sharp on a monday evening and all I wanted was to buy some dog food. There were 3 people at the reception (One of whom i think was a Vet herself) she was attending to one other customer. She took her sweet time to answer all queries of the customer while we waited patiently in line. 10 minutes passed by, when a customer behind me asked if they had a particular product available. The receptionist was extremely rude and asked the man to wait patiently as she was with the other customer. BTW, the receptionist/VET was idle at that point and could have easily assisted. I waited for another 5 minutes and there was not even a basic eye contact or any form of acknowledgement from any of their staff. I walked away thanking my stars that I decided to check this place out first before getting my dog here.

Good. Main complaint is that you don't get the same vet each time your pet has an issue, so there is some problems with continuity.

I can surely say they have a very good Drs and the team is very supportive and caring , I took my stray cat who had a kick on her chest and was hardly breathing , they operate on her a big surgery and kept her for 1 week boarding to recover and it was all for free ... ABVC you are the best and thank u thank u thank u very much for helping this poor kitty

Please do not bring your pet here. I brought my aging cat to this clinic a few times over the past year due to proximity to my apartment, and I experienced (initially) mediocre to (at the end) incompetent treatment.

Visited first time this clinic for general checkup with my Puppy. Vet Michael was extremely helpful, informative and professional. Is a Vet that really cares about your pet. The area is well organised, atmosphere calm. I had a very positive experience. Highly recommended!

What a blessing to find a place that not only cares about making money but also about giving back to the community. The campaign of Spay a Stray is the best example of that and I can't thank enough the whole team of ABVC for their amazing efforts in this campaign. Many of our cats got this benefit and that help us tremendously to control the population in our community.

This has been our vetenary clinic for at least 10 years. All the staff are professional and very competent and caring.

The wife and I adopted our first kitten, Avocato, from this lovely clinic in the heart of Al Barsha. Forward a year later and we just adopted another from a 3rd party but enrolled her with ABVC & their Friends of Pets package. The helpful on call support (and WhatsApp) is always available with helpful information. Most of the vets, specially Dr. David Perez, are truly a joy to meet and leave our little ones in their safe hands.

I had the best experience with Dr. Alex, she is the best vet I have ever taken my cat for treatment. Her work goes beyond words and she is the most passionate doctor that you can wish for. Her caring attitude goes beyond the clinic and she has been constantly checking up on us and helping us out with advice and suggestion. I wholehearteadly recommend anyone to take their pet to this clinic, especially to Dr. Alex.

Butchers!!! Disaster clinic. Terrible behavior with pets and stray cats.
TNR here is a mess, animals die by infections and wrong procedures.
You drop a healthy cat for TNR and they give you back the cat, sick, still under anesthesia and when you complain... They laugh and don't even care .. So you need to take the cat to a respectful ethic clinic to try to save the animal ..
Shame this place and her german butcher owner still working.
By the way .. Not only Veterinary doctors are making surgeries there... Some other unprofessional philipino staff are opening cats and making surgery procedures

Excellent care overall by the clinc during a difficult journey of declining health. Kudos to Dr Metje for providing a level of care that's worth it. Mr Pullo will be eternally grateful.

Stray Cats don't seem to be worth their time. I called to take one as she was not eating for over 3 days, anorexic. I called the EMERGENCY line because I was afraid she would die. I was told that if it's a pet I could bring her in, or else I should wait to get an appointment tomorrow. I must repeat that it's a stray cat. Which means once I grab her, I have to take her in immediately. And she was rather ill. So bottom line, they don't care unless it's a pet because no other life seems worthy enough for their precious time. Shameful and disappointing to say the least.

I've visited a few times now with various cats with various ailments and the service and treatment has always been excellent. I also think ABVC are more reasonably priced than some other clinics.

Words cannot describe the comfort I felt from my initial on-line chat, to the immediate call from the team member, to meeting the wonderful Dr Medhi. My chihauhaus, Zeus and Bella, were so comfortable with the entire team. Zeus is usually very nervous and not as compliant as Bella. I was shocked at how he allowed Dr Medhi to examine him. Also, Dr Medhi gave very realistic suggestions for both their issues and I trust his opinion explicitly. The main thing that stands out the most is the wonderful, caring team, each of which went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I have finally found the best vet for my wonderful furry family.

Not happy with this practice at all. I don't even know where to begin to express my dissatisfaction with this place. I have had 3 cats that have been going to this practice for more than a year now. And most recent incidents there have made me inclined to move them elsewhere. The new practice I'm at is slightly more expensive however I would rather pay the extra cash than see animals suffer or anymore mishaps take place. Nevertheless, I can't say ABVC are a cheap practice despite being run like one. Firstly this place is like a cattle market, animal in, animal out with no real care or concern for the pet itself. There is one good vet and one really good nurse in the whole practice and apart from that I wouldn't rate any of the others highly at all and they're probably more than 5. Well at least every time I go we see a different vet and most of them are stern and cold hearted. The new practice I'm taking my cats are a massive difference. I've never felt more comfort knowing my pets are in safe hands and with vets and nurses that actually care for the animals. Whereas in ABVC you can see there only there just for the job itself. There is no ' bedside manner' to the pets themselves or the owners.
The reason I eventually moved my cats to another practice were because of 2 incidents within the practice that were the final straw. First one being my kitten was microchipped and 2 weeks later the chip couldn't be found and she had to be chipped again. How does that even happen?? Apparently my kitten was one of the unlucky ones and these things happen. I have to mention I've had cats all my life 3 in the past and 3 now and such things haven't happened until I came across this clinic. Funnily enough the same kitten was then 'unlucky' a second time 3 months later.
My poor little kitten went in for a routine procedure - spaying (800 dirhams) and has now been kept within a clinic since for the past 3 weeks. Now I can't confirm whether the initial op was badly done initially as I'm no expert but what I can tell u is that the aftercare since has been shocking!!! The initial cut wasn't a clean cut and after 4 days the wound opened, when I noticed the open wound I called the clinic immediately at 9am, I was told to bring her in at 2pm and even after asking whether it's ok to leave her open for that long the receptionist confirmed it would be fine. However, when we arrived she had a high temp and an infection due to the opening of the wound apparently being open for so long!!! Not only this, the vet who attended to us very comfortably blamed our care for her for the reason the wound opened. Now whether he actually thought that or not that's not for him to point the finger and as far as I'm concerned he was completely rude and cold towards our cat and us and we were upset to see her in such a condition even regretting getting her spayed. what I can tell u is she was monitored by my husband and I day and night. Hence why I noticed the open wound asap. He also told us that such cases are rare and he's never seen something like this before - seems like a common theme in this practice, where one cat gets all the bad luck. Unlikely I think there are many more animals who have been 'unlucky' in this practice given the fact that one animal I know of has such bad luck so far. Anyway she had to be reoperated on. And after coming home to us she was still unwell, sleeping all the time and very quiet. We had to take her back yet again. At this point, again being no expert, I had ask if she needed pain relief. Isn't that common sense??? She was then given an anti-Inflammatory with pain relief and antibiotic changed. Sadly, the wound started the open again and by this point I had lost my patience and trust in this clinic and have now moved to a much better practice where she is being properly looked after. Despite having to pay a lot more money since by moving and a lot more than the cost of spaying it has been worth every Dirham to help get the wound closed and her back to health. I will never go back to this practice ever again with any of my pets

Id give a better rating if they ever even answered the calls. The fancy waiting system puts you on hold forever anytime you call in the week.

Dr. Metje Zegers is really a wonderful vet. She is swift, knowledgeable and kind to the dog. Excellent service and care.

As per usual, I receive the best care for my beloved pets - all staff are courteous, friendly, professional and I am always satisfied. I truly appreciate the kindness and support I receive from the vets!

My kitten died due to their neglicence, i had brought my cat to their establsihment a week before he died and she said he was completely fine after doing a basic check even though i pointed out the fact that he looked severly overweight yet someone demonstrated weighing less than his skinny looking brother yet the Vet didnt take that as anything serious. A week later after the visit i noticed my kittens breahting pattern being weird so i rushed him to Modern Veterinary clinic where the vet immediaately noticed what was wrong and tried his best to save him where he sadly didnt win the fight and passed away
please do not go here and risk your pet potentially dying, i wish i was told of something similar to this happening so i could still have my baby with me

I am so happy with my experience there, my cat always anxious and hard to handle for which the previous vets were aggressively restrain for some injections.
In abvc I saw my baby so relaxed and happy, these guys know what they are doing.

Dr Alex is probably one of the best vets in Dubai.

My opinion is based on 9 years of multiple vets trying to diagnose my oldest dog and experimenting with him , further thinking us as cash cows (constantly running useless tests etc).

Alex was the only vet that was able to help. She is not only a great professional but very personal with both my dogs and us .

Dr. Metje and the whole team are awesome!!!! You cannot find nicer people and more true care anywhere!!!

We have been bringing our 2 dogs to ABVC vets for annual vaccinations and medical exams for almost 5 years now. This morning I took one of our dogs to get his teeth cleaned by Dr Mehdi and the experience really exceeded my expectations! A true 5 star vet clinic!

Very happy going there with my cats. Love the reminders they are sending when it is time for their next vaccinations and their house call service.

Great team, very supportive, and I can tell that they really care about the animals they treat! We had one kitten coming around our villa. The poor thing had an infected eye and it was clear that it needed help. Once we brought him over, the vet have told us that we will need to get his eye removed. The staff really took good care of the kitty and he is now in recovery. We are really grateful that the team took such good care of the little one :D

Quite disappointed with the service we received here, given that we are regulars at the ABVC Kennels & Cattery for the doggie daycare.
We brought our dog in after she had a few episodes of a hacking cough & vomiting. The doc who checked her said it "might be" kennel cough and kept responding to all our questions with "if you want" - no proper diagnosis, no proper instructions on how to solve the issue. We were just given a mild solution to feed her via syringe.
After seeing our dog's condition worsen over 2 days, we finally took to her to Umm Sequim Vet Center late at night, where the doc immediately diagnosed her with kennel cough and prescribed a 3 week anti-biotic course. I'm glad that we decided to get a second opinion, but having wasted nearly AED 900 at ABVC's vet clinic on a poor diagnosis and treatment, we will surely not return.

ABVC has been treating my pets for many years, when I lived in Al Barsha. Now I am trying to help the cats in Al Barsha Pond Park and all the Umm Seqiem and Sufouh area through the Spay a stray and through Friends of Animals.They are kindly tnring many cats from the park and the surrounding areas. Since 2004 the vets of the Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic have been looking after my zoo. We have now 6 Saluki s , 5 cats, 10 tortoises, 6 hedgehogs, and over the years we had many more animals, saved from the desert. The vets worked always very knowledgeable and with love for each one animal we had or have. One of my Shepard s had strange coloring and they found out it was a heart problem, with the right medicines she totally recovered and lived to the beautiful age of 17 years. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone with animals, they care, the love and will explain what ever is the matter. I had the Luck and chance to meet the amazing pet groomer Donnie, which handle Budi with very professional and friendly care! Thank you soooo much Donnie, see you next month again, and Budi apologizes for the few scratches he had done to you.As I ve been advised from different clinics to have Budi under anesthesia while clipping his nails , I Highly recomand Donnie as a best pet groomer in town! My male cat Nikoo fell very sick, wouldn t stop sneezing. I had to take him to a vet, which I did! Unfortunately, my time just got wasted, I got fleeced and my cats condition got even worse. I was a wreck up until a friend suggested ABVC! Dr Alexandra was so thorough and so reassuring! She knew exactly what was wrong with my baby and treated him with such live and care. She asked me to bring him back saying she would like to see him in five days. Five days later I get a call from nine other than Dr Alexandra herself!!! I mean who does that. Doctors get other personnel to call on their behalf! But Dr Alex made the call herself! Thanks to her my nikoo is doing so much better! I can t be thankful enough to this wonderful lady! Very happy with the service and the friendliness of the staff.

Have 3 cats, 2 with chronic medical problems. Referred us appropriately, 1 ultimately has done better with care at ABVC than with a previous clinic. Both Dr. Mehdi and Dr. Michael have been thoughtful and knowledgeable. The entire clinic staff takes a real interest in all 3 cats and genuinely cares about their health. Our "boys" couldn't receive better care anywhere else.

ABVC s Spay-a-Stray campaign is a fantastic initiative that enables those who care about stray animals across Dubai and their quality of life. Every cat that is part of this TNR programme is a step forward in humanely and ethically protecting the current stray population. In my area, 9 strays have been neutered (1 by ABVC). This means not only less fights and less injuries but also happier, healthier cats, the number of which will not multiply thus allowing our feeding stations to nourish those animals that are an important part of our community.

I have only had a great experience with ABVC so far. I had a foster cat Jerry who was epileptic and suffered violent grand mal seizures. When no other vet in Dubai gave me positive hope for the poor 5 month old cat, Dr Mehdi at ABVC gave us comfort and immediately put him on meds, thanks to which he today lives a great life in Germany with his adopted family and behaves like any normal kitty. I absolutely respect Dr Mehdi for being calm, honest, thorough and truthful with us and helping us go through a very difficult time . A lot of vets can be "good" in Dubai, but ABVC has been around long and I will continue to take animals there for any major illnesses. And I cannot commend enough their Spay a Stray campaign, I see no other clinic doing absolutely free surgeries in Dubai.This must take a lot of time, commitment and dedication for their team at ABVC to successfully do 200+ surgeries every Feb every year. My 2 females TNR cases who they operated on last week are happy and healthy and have resumed normal life,no side effects whatsoever. The staff are always polite, and special mention to Ivan for always greeting me with a smile and the whole team deserves respect. Great job guys, you have a new client for sure :-)

I agree with the bad reviews, a Butchery and not sure not a vet, they just care about your cash, careful of their charges, simply a ripoff, never would visit them again! 3 puppies diagnosed with flu... total bill 3440, after argument they reduced to Aed 2770!!!! What if it was some serious dresses, shall I take a personal loan to see toe thier bill!
They are in complete denial of the bad reviews on google! I guess they have posted the good reviews, attitude of the Philipino guy at the reception is unacceptable, that s nothing compared the arrogant doctor who rude, unfriendly and unbearable! These guys shouldn t be fronting customers, at best they are better off as farm vets working with cows!

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! my kitten was clearly sick, i take the kitten to the vet and they repeatedly say he is okay, i take my kitten to another clinic and he was in critical health, this clinic did not even notice! very unprofessional and careless , if i took the vets word for it my kitten would have died!

Worst experience ever. I regret that I entrusted them with pet relocation as they wrongly informed me that my pets will be taken care of during my flight layover. Only by chance at the airport I found out that my pets are actually waiting alone in the luggage arrival area and I asked myself what if I didn't ask and what if I trusted abvc? To make things worse- once I contacted them and complained they did not want to refund my my cost for the layover hotel I could not attend, for the expensive airport food i had to buy for my pets as they were not fed at the "doggy lounge" that was promised by abvc. They just instead blamed the airline and would not take responsibility for providing me with wrong info. They are a nightmare to deal with. My poor pets - I still feel so bad when I remember this horrible experience I went through. I just can't understand how you can run a business but blame others for your mistake. If i could I would give them zero stars or even minus.

My little puppy had Parvo virus, and we moved her here from another clinic that was overpriced.
Al Barsha Clinic took really good care of her for almost two weeks as her case was very serious, and she made it! We noticed our little one feels super comfortable with everyone around clinic (the nurses, the doctors, and the receptionists.) They're all super friendly and truly love animals!

We met the team of ABVC in 2005, when we moved in Dubai and imported our cat.
Since then, Dr Mehdi and his team has accompanied us in all the ups of down of our family life, from helping us arranging travels of our dogs and cat, the rescue and adoption of various rabbits, parrots and iguana and so on, and the inevitable passing away of some beloved pets. Since more than 13 years, the ABVC team care, understanding and dedication to our pets welfare is second to none.
Now that our pets are growing old, the Serious follow up and constant communication help us enjoy our family with happy and healthy pets.

I really appreciate their quick services and discountable prices. I recommend to the viewers to use their staff services.

They let my friends kitten die due to their neglicence, they didnt notice a condition that he had been suffering from for many months and he died after a week of getting him checked by them and their expert vets saying "he's fine", this is not a joke do not trust their "expertise"!!!

I would definately recommend this place.. Do your pets a favor And take them there. Your pet will be recieved with care And handed to you with love.

Came to the clinic withy cat around 9:10pm and they open till 10pm. Despite of the place being empty they refused to examine my pet explaining that they work as per appointment only and could accommodate me as the Emergincy with extra cost of course but today they are not an Emergincy clinic. I brought a cat to open empty clinic and they refused to check on him! I don t have trust to this place anymore and recommend to all who wants care to not go there
