We have used ABVC in previous years and we were always happy however yesterday absolutely disappointing and extremely unprofessional. My dog was booked for dental cleaning, usually they would have provided me with an estimate but didn't. The morning I dropped my dog they kept calling her a different name and didn't seem to know what was going on. Eventually one of the staff members told me that the estimation will be 1000 AED for dental cleaning and any extractions will cost between 30 to 100 AED, which is what I am use to as I have bought my other dogs before. However during pick up the final bill was 2,200 AED, how on earth can it go over by more than double the estimate and when I questioned why its this amount, no body knew and couldn't explain it to me.
Eventually they decided to charge me 1900 AED but since I had APC discount, it came to 1723 AED. I didn't think much of it as first but when I got home I realized they charged me a lot more than what I should have paid.
Eventually I called and made further inquires and one fo the staff members who was very helpful told me they made a mistake will refund 350 AED however it still didn't add up with the calculations.
I'm afraid I will not be using their services again as I simply do not trust them for what they charge. Vets are extremely expensive in the UAE and to make matters worse they charged me more than I should have without given me a detailed bill.
Personally, I liked the staff and I do not have an issue with them at all but they definitely need work on their payment procedure. I would suggest you asking for any bill before paying to understand what they are charging you for.

As an avid animal lover and cat rescuer, I'm grateful to ABVC for their free Spay a Stray campaign every year. TNR is an expensive affair, and clinics with heart like ABVC make a world of difference. I took 2 kitties to be spayed, found the clinic very professional and the staff friendly and responsive. Thank you, ABVC, keep up the great work!
We have been coming to ABVC since January 2015. They helped us very well with the relocation of our cats to Dubai. In the clinic it's always clean and tidy. All staff (in particular Dr. Metje) is skilled and always responds quickly. They treat our cats quickly and don't do unnecessary treatments to incur costs. I can recommend ABVC to every pet owner!

It was a long time I took my dog for checkups but since i discovered that money is the main point for them, extra charges for nothing and prices are so high and because of simple syrup that my dog used it for long time and proscribed by them but they asking me every time to bring the dog just to pay the visit charge is too much! and they named it BY LOW ! taking money from people by low is a good reason no doubt! they re already over ! Please be a little bit faithful.
We met Dr Micheal Gerges and are extremely happy with the way helped our kitten. He patiently explained to us how to care for our kitten. Highly recommend Dr Micheal for his professionalism and his patience.
I adopt a 6 month cat from Al Barsha veterinary clinic , a while ago , they gave it to me fully vaccinated and in good health, and I kept on going there for check up and grooming, the stuff are so friendly , and the services are beyond expectations.Though I recommend ABVC to all my friends for such a great experience . My honest advise is NEVER take any Animal to this place, They don't have any compassion or respect for Animals or people, they are greedy, arrogant and unprofessional that only care about money. A very poor level of veterinary care of what I am used to. They shouldn't have a licence to operate this kind of business, where animal's care come first.
This vet clinic left an impression that they are just collecting money, caring about their profit and not about your pet well being.
Just a few hours after I posted my above impression, the clinic called me and tried to persuade that I am totally wrong. Instead of listening to me and trying to clear the situation they shout at me, tried to push me to remove the comment, threaten, did not listen to and did not give a chance to explain my concern. Absolutely No-Go. Totally failed. Is it the way how they handle a critical feedback? My honest advise to them is to learn to how deal with customers in a polite and professional way.
It is the second time I have been part of the Spay-a-Stray campaign and I couldn't be happier. Staff / clinic organized everything very well and informed me about the different steps - really helpful during this pandemic and all the restrictions. My strays and I are very grateful and we hope you continue the good work also in the future. We need more clinics like ABVC.

This was my first visit to the clinic, the medicine price they charged me was a 'daylight robbery'
My advice- never buy the medicine from this clinic unless they are emergencies, only get the prescriptions. I was charged aed 792 for medicines, All are available online at a very cheap price(for the same brand aed 380 including delivery charges). i was overcharged aed 400+
Dear management- it is not good to 'rip off' the customers for medicines especially during these tough times that everyone is going through. i will never come back.
Wasn't too happy with ABVC. I wanted to register my dog here, along with a consultation. Dr Mehdi diagnosed her with patellar luxation on both knees, that would eventually require surgery. They sent me the brochure and evidently it alarmed me since I had no idea about this. I just got a second opinion and she only has the issue on ONE of her knees, and that surgery could actually do more damage.
Even with the staff in the clinic, I got the feeling that they are constantly trying to promote all their services and products (collar for flees, daycare services, etc). I found it to be very commercial, expensive (compared to other vets) and wasn't very happy which is why I moved to another vet.
Very reliable clinic. Always very clean and all the staff are very friendly. All the vets working there are very professional and take really good care of your pets. I ve been taking my dog there for many years and since a year my new adopted cat as well. I could really recommend dr. Mehdi and dr. Metje
Please avoid a clinic that hurts your pet and on top of that, when informed, basically ignores you until you insist several times. I went with a healthy cat and came back with a hurt cat. I m so sad for putting my cat through this situation :(
Update to respond to the clinics response: As I mentioned in my initial comment, I contacted the clinic several times by phone, WhatsApp, spoke with a nurse after much insisting and with a Vet after having to almost yell at the phone. I mentioned on the phone to everyone I spoke what happened and that I m upset and that my cat is not doing well. My name is Melanie Simoes, not a stretch from the name I signed; shame on you for saying you don t know my case - I ve been going to this clinic since I got my first cat in 2015. I used to love a Portuguese vet they had there, she was super sweet with my cat and would even ask me to call the clinic to let her know how he was doing when we was having recurrent nasty eye infections. After that, tried some of the other vets with mixed results. Once went with one of the cats because he was limping on the right leg; however the vet insisted that he had a problem on the left leg, not the right although at home he was, 100%, limping from the right leg. I ended up having to pay for 2 X-rays. Anyway, gave benefit of doubt and continued going there. Last Saturday we went for annual check up on my 2 cats. They are both in good health, so was just vaccination and that s it. During the appointment the vet (Dr. Michael (?) which we visited for the 1st time) decided to check the temperature of one of the cats and the cat hissed (first time ever he hissed!) and complained. I found him to be a bit aggressive, even when giving the deworming pills, as both cats never had complained so much and never had seen a vet doing it like that. We came home and as soon as we arrive we noticed the cat licking his bum... we thought it was just reaction to the visit, but nothing important. The day after after work we noticed again him licking it; so we over played with him to get him super tired, which helped and he stopped licking it and decided to nap instead. The day after, we noticed again the heavy licking and upon checking we noticed that the area was extremely inflamed, red and swollen. He never ever had any issue like this. I immediately called the clinic (around 5:30 pm) and was told the nurse would call me back. In the meanwhile I sent photo and details over WhatsApp and asked if I should go to the clinic. Over 1 h passed and nobody called or replied to the WhatsApp. I called again; was told that everyone was busy in a procedure, they would call later. Was then called again by the receptionist at 9:30 after I whatsapp saying I was still awaiting for a call to be told someone would call me at 10 pm or if I was sleeping the day after. Well, since I was super worried about my poor cat, i was definitely ready to wait for a call until late. Was finally called at 10 pm; almost 5 h after a called for the first time. Got some basic advice, and no apology. Of course was too late to visit the vet by that time; so decided to decide what to do the day after. By this point the cat had been already with a colar for 5 h; and I was hoping that by morning would be better.
The day after, today, the cat is still desperately trying to lick his bum, there is a scab now, so I decide to call back and ask to speak with the vet. I m told I can only speak with the nurse; so had to almost yell at the phone saying that after hurting my cat and taking 5 hr to call me back on the previous day, the min they can do is to have a doctor call me back. Which they eventually do; no apology again, but the vet was pleasant, nice and said I could visit for a check; which by this point I refused because when I had cleaning the wound and put sudo early that day super carefully the cat reacted so badly (not aggressive, just immensely sad and desperate) that made me cry so I just can t take him to the same place that traumatised him this bad.
ABVC staff and Vet showed good service every time we visit the clinic. The staff are very friendly and polite. They showed love and took care of my pet well. Very satisfied with their service.
The clinic has high standard professionals that look after your pets in the best way. It s been 11 years I take my cats and they have been always treated perfectly, even went through several major surgeries. Dr. Mehdi is always there to explain and give you the best advices.
We've been using ABVC for our cats for close to 20 years now. We've always had excellent professional, friendly service. We could don't be happier, nor could our cats!!
Would just like to thank ABVC for their amazing care and treatment of both of my cats. Most recently for my kitten. He has had a number of health issues due to an unfortunate start in life and they have taken the time and effort (a lot more than they charged for) to make sure he has the best chance of recovery. I wish I could be nice and give this place more than one star, but the shoe fits. We brought our cat to dr Metje who required tests that are not necessary for diagnosis so that she can charge more. After weeks going there and lots of tests and send samples out while our pocket tears dirhams for the service, our cat still not well and that vet just know nothing except more and more tests. She dosent care about the animals there more focused on money.
