Terrifying service, border workers are really injured and poorly treated by this service. Rejection of care orders for a child in a situation of disability not because not affiliated but because there are 2 months of delay in the files ... In spite of the S1 document, the German health insurance company issued a request to pay the invoice for its own operating room (cancer treatment at the University Clinic in Cologne) out of its own pocket, since the CNS reported that it was no longer insured.

Even better: S1 document comes by post, valid for the whole of November. Stupid that the date of issue was the following December 8th and was delivered by post on December 14th. So it expired when it was sent.

For cross-border commuters, sickness benefit only comes after 1000 perceived inquiries, first sickness report submitted more than 6 weeks before the deadline. Probably nothing comes at all.

CNS is one of the best thing in Luxembourg.
Doctors, hospital and medicine bills are very well covered, similar to what I used to have from the equivalent French public service + additional private insurance (15 years ago and I guess it did not improve since) for a fraction of the cost. Reimbursements are pretty fast for local expenses. I've had good experience with staff at the counter and as well over the phone, though obviously sometimes the waiting time may be long.
No need to fill any form, just post the invoice to CNS and it's done, 5 weeks letter your bank account is credited. The cherry on the cake is that it is stamp-free :)
