Went in to get an 2 Italian sodas and they were swamped. After we ordered and got our drinks we left. When we did take a sip we found flavoured.water with absolutely no soda fizz in the drinks. Very very unimpressed. They were closed when we didntaste our drinks so we couldn't go back to complain.

atmosphere is nice, staff is polite. However, the cakes are not good ! I had the raspberry split chocolate cake....the cake portion itself was DRY and flavourless. I have tried their other cakes as well and for the price...they are below par. I find their sponge cakes are really dry and the icing overly sweet. As for their cheesecakes they are decent.. Earl's cheesecake is better (as a comparison). Not worth the hype...at least not for the cakes.

We stopped in today while we were in the area expecting to get cheesecake. We chose to get 2 slices of Oreo cheesecake to go. Turns out it s Oreo cake? I guess the sign must have been wrong. So disappointing :(

Always a treat to go for a coffee and dessert. So yummy!

Really nice atmosphere. Cheesecake was very good! My friend had the carrot cake, I tried it and would get it next time, it was incredible.

Love the new location! Tons of seating and booths too. The best raspberry crandberry scone I have had! I think the staff are great, especially with how busy it gets. Keep up the good work. Haters need to eat more cake.

Favourite place to go for a date night or coffee with the best friend. Such a great selection of cakes and was so stoked to find out we could order them for our birthdays! Best dessert in Abbotsford hands down.

Coffee was amazing. And of course the cheesecake was delicious.

The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, but it can be a great place to meet a friend if you manage to be there when it's not too busy.

It was very clear I was not welcome in this establishment as an American. I forgot I was wearing my hat with an American flag patch on it and it all made sense( I could be wrong but it's a recurring issue for me. Also I love Canada so this is no hate towards this nation)

I work customer service so I try not to say much because usually it's possible the person is having a bad day but this was awful service. The employee taking orders ignored me after standing in front of the glass for 6 or so minutes. She then spoke to the cashier saying " I don't know what they're doing" as if it was my fault for her not asking for my order. So I ordered some cheesecake and paid, but as soon as I walked away from the cashier she said to the next customer "someone screwed up the order of the line".

I would not recommend this place to anyone, this place has awful service. There's a pretty nice starbucks across the parking lot! They don't discriminate and I'm sure they can just say rude comments when the customer isn't close enough to hear them.

Best desserts anywhere on the Fraser Valley and maybe even beyond

Great place to get a cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake.

I love their desserts they re amazing and the drinks are great as well. However I ve had multiple incidences in the past where one of the staff members was extremely rude. I don t like the play the race card but when I go into this establishment and see how other customers are treated versus how I was treated/talked to, it s made me very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was willing to let this go as I gave them the benefit of the doubt as to maybe it was a fluke. However, I have now heard from multiple people that they ve had similar experiences as to when someone who is non-white comes in.
Again, it s not the establishments fault, the food and drinks are amazing but it can t go unnoticed with how the customer service went with this worker there.

This place has been serving up delicious house made deserts for years. Just when you think it doesnt get any better their new space facilitates an inviting atmosphere. Their coffee is top notch as well.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING STAFF (saw a man being rudely spoken to as he was confused about how to order)! My group of friends and I were asked to leave as we were told we were not paying customers after having bought three cakes and two coffees. After telling them we were paying customers, the owner made up a rule out of thin air about how there was no studying allowed after 8pm. We said we would put our laptops away and she still insisted that we leave. The table of women sitting next to us were sitting there for the same amount of time (without laptops) and were not asked to leave. Make it make sense.

Cake sizes and customer service are random depending on the person cutting it and serving you, sometimes its smaller than expected (for the price). The customer service was on the bad side today and the person literally threw the card machine at me under the plexiglass. I don t know if she was sliding it but definitely did not seem like it. The two stars is solely for the cake taste and size up deal.

Well spaced out tables. Good coffee and good desserts. Also lunch type food.

Went there for lunch with as friend - my soup was tasteless and my friend's sandwich was only okay. Service was unfriendly and tables had dirty dishes and crumbs which we had to push aside. Did not try dessert because soup and sandwich didn't pass. Won't go back.

Fantastic desserts, always like 10 selections of cheesecake and pies and quiche and sandwiches as well. I always get the cheesecake, and it's great.

The cheese cake is the bomb! The staff are a bit grumpy. I prefer to take ours home

Delicious desserts with lots of room! The ladies working didn t seem very happy but everything I had was delicious! Lots of tables and places to sit. Marble mocha and cheesecake were great. Busy place. Gluten free options, easy parking. Specialty coffee options is nice!

We had the white chocolate cheese cake, Oreo cake and chai latte. It was good but not something I would crave to have again.

I love this place, awesome pastry, with the perfect coffee... and they staff very friendly.. had the chocolate coconut cheesecake and latte.... amazing!!!my wife had the huge carrot cake... so awesome.. highly recommend it..

HORRIBLE SERVICE & RIDICULOUS policies! I went to Afterthoughts for a piece of apple pie with my wife. When we ordered we were told to go to the cashier to pay and we did so. When we got into our vehicle that was parked right in front of the entrance, my wife looked at the pie and saw that it wasn t apple pie, it was some sort of berry pie. I went inside to get it exchanged for what we had ordered which was apple pie. The girl said she thought she heard blackberry pie instead and went to confer with her manager or co-worker. She then comes back and says WE CANNOT EXCHANGE the piece of pie because it has LEFT the premises. If we wanted apple pie we would have TO PAY for ANOTHER piece of pie.I told her that that s ridiculous because apple pie sounds NOTHING like BLACKBERRY pie, it was the employees fault for giving me the wrong order, and I came back inside 1 minute after we realized we got the wrong order, and that it was STUPID that a customer should have to pay for an employees mistake and management s ridiculous rules. It s one thing if I wanted to keep the piece of pie which was erroneously given to me, but I didn t. And I couldn t have told the employee that she was packing the wrong order because once I ordered, I was instructed to pay at the cashier. So if you visit Afterthoughts, make sure you don t even step 1 foot outside their door because if you do and THEY MESS UP YOUR ORDER, the CUSTOMER and NOT THE STAFF will be responsible for THEIR mistake. And yes, I was parked right outside their entrance so it s about 3 feet from their door.
I ve gone to this place since the 90 s because Abbotsford never had any other dessert places until the last 5-10 years. I kept going here instead of others places because it was just the place we went to for desserts. But now with so much competition in Abbotsford and this ridiculous experience, we will never go back there because while other places try their best at customer service, this place has ridiculous POLICIES like this. I ll obviously be sharing this experience with friends and family and I m sure they will also be like WTF, you can t be serious!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Afterthoughts is the delight of Abbotsford, the crown jewel for cheesecake enthusiasts; a sinful pleasure for those who dare to indulge!

Their cheesecakes are delicious and rich. It can sometimes be difficult to finish a whole slice without a friend's help. Hours are nice and late so it's a great place when you want to head out at night but the only other places open are Boston Pizza and McDonalds.

Cakes good. But the customer service is not so good. One of the girls charged me for someone elses cake and I had bought two but she only gave me one. Then the lady said sorry it's my mistake I accidentally charged you but if you want another slice you'll have to pay extra. Very poor customer service

This place used to be amazing! But recently the customer service has become absolutely terrible ! No greetings, and rarely acknowledge we are even standing there, super rude and never smile. Not impressed.

Just went here and ordered 4 desserts for take out. We had the Oreo cheesecake, lemon/lime cheesecake, the field berry cake & the apple rhubarb pie. HANDS DOWN THE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD. The cheesecake is so silky and creamy and the cake had such a great frosting. The pie was demolished in a few minutes because it was just that good. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back here on a regular basis.

WOW! what can I say, I've been coming here for years and am now taking my daughter. Warm drinks and even warmer hearts!

Ok. Quick story, went in around 10 at night for a London Fog. They didn't accept credit card because it was only 4 dollars. I asked why, they said they had the rule about no credit card less than 5. I said I used all the time. They said they were training some new girls. Argument stopped, and they gave me the wrong tea. Lol, I don't know how to make London fog, but this one is different with the one I had for last 100 times.

The deserts here are high quality and quite tasty. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys cheesecake as there are plenty of different types.

Fantastic service and tasty treats. Other than having to move a few tables and chairs for walker access, our experience was very enjoyable.

Nice cozy little cafe in a surprisingly busy plaza. The cheesecake is reasonably good, and the potato bacon soup was very nice. Service was a little slow but still pleasant.

They haven't got a flat white on the menu yet but were willing to make it following my suggestions.

Always amazed at their deserts. But now that we are on the keto diet we are down right impressed with the keto cheesecake.

My friend an I went for lunch. Soup was Thai red curry, chicken rice. I ordered Thai red curry, my friend ordered chicken rice. We both got the same soup ...upon asking we found that it was a combo soup! Not separate flavours. This was not clear on the menu board. They would not take it back due to C19. Got it. My friend could not have the spicy soup so she just left it, I liked the soup but it was barely luke warm along with a very luke warm bun. Neither which they would warm up for me. I ended up just taking my lunch home. Very disappointing :(. We will go somewhere else next time.

I only go here for their Vancouver cheesecake it is my favourite! But staff are kinda rude and unhappy.

If I could give zero stars I would. We ordered a cake for my dads birthday, to our surprise when we cut into it we found a whole sheet of wax paper inside (I know it won't kill me) but the lack of customer service we got after was extremely poor. The owner told us to eat around it but I'm sorry after spending 56$ on a cake I shouldn't have to eat around it! Very disappointed with this experience, will never recommend afterthoughts to anyone. On top of all that the owner couldn't stop laughing when we brought it back and told us not to "burn hairs over it" like it was some big joke to him, extremely childish and inappropriate for a business owner.

This is a classic Abbotsford establishment that is well known for their fantastic deserts and great staff.

I love everything about Afterthoughts and the staff are great.

The desserts looked good but we just had drinks. They tasted fine. I thought the service was very average but decent enough. There was lots of space for seating but notes on all the tables saying no studying inside. I suspect students fill the tables with only a drink while they work. It was decorated nicely for Christmas.

New locations has a pretty decent sitting space outside.

Best desserts. One of the best cappuccino and chai tea latte.

Lots of variety of cheesecakes and other cakes. I love their vancouver cheesecake and carrot cake as well as their cheesecake tarts. Prices for cheesecake are same as a restaurant. Staff was friendly.

I love Afterthoughts. One of my favorite places. The cakes here are to die for and I'm not a big fan of cakes either. The only cake I'll eat is from here. My favorites are the Bavarian Cream Cake or the Skors cheesecake. Soooooo good.

Delicious delicious delicious if you are looking for a sweet treat or a specialty beverage this is the place to go they have cheesecakes normal cakes puddings pastries pies and special drinks like hot chocolate seasonal flavors and tons and tons of other drinks everything is made fresh daily by the local owners and it is a neat little place to sit in and enjoy your food it's a great place to go for coffee and just spend time with friends

Great local coffee house with local to B.C. cakes and other baked goods. They have quiche and various sandwiches alongside keto friendly desserts.

You d expect with a new location comes good or better service, but not in this case. Waited in line behind a group of indecisive customers who kindly told me to go ahead as I knew what I wanted and had to get going. Told the lady working, this is the cake I want, to go. Walked over to the counter to pay and she acted as if she had no idea what I was doing there (waiting to pay). Ended up back in line behind said group only for the lady at the cash register to mess up their payment leading me to wait even longer. Completely unprofessional and extremely rude staff.

Went there tonight to have my favourite cheese cake .. only to be told they were "done" selling plain cheese cake for the night . Not that they were sold out... saw cheese cakes in the back on a rack.. they were just not cut up .. so sad and disapointed on this valentines day .. they were my nornal go to place for cheese cake ..

I love afterthoughts but im gonna be honest today I was shocked by the lack of covid precautions here.
There is no plexi glass in-between booths now normally this isn't an issue but they are running at full capacity. All table and booths were in use people are close together. Staff are not wearing masks or gloves while serving. There is a disregard for safety here be warned. Honestly disappointed. I won't be going back until covid is done. The cake isn't worth the safety risk

Have been to Afterthoughts multiple times and have had great experiences. The desserts are fantastic! If I had been rating the food it would be a 5 for sure.
Though, today the service was absolutely terrible. The young lady behind the counter was extremely rude to my husband when he had asked what kind of cake that was in the showcase- as he pointed to the cake in the showcase (today barely anything had been labeled in the showcase, it was very hard to know what was what to be honest) She rudely replied with I can t see what you are pointing at, is it a cake or ? Once we had gotten what we had chosen she had asked if there was anything else, I had told her I needed a honey mango tea as she walked away from me before I had a chance to say the other beverage we wanted. At this point I had been irritated with the way she had been treating us. Once she had finishing making the first tea I had to let her know that I wanted another, she again walked away from me as I was telling her the size, and she yelled across the counter a small?! .
It is disappointing to have a place that is welcoming and has great desserts but when you feel like your an idiot for not knowing what s in the showcase because it s not labeled and have to ask and then feel like you are a nuisance, it s really not worth it when really the problem could have been solved if it all had been labeled like it should be.

The Vancouver cheesecake was absolutely delicious. My mocha was really great as well.
Workers were polite and helpful.
I give credit to them, it was very busy when we went in and it s unbelievable the amount of rude customers we experienced ahead of us. Absolutely no respect for these girls working their butts off! So sad to see.

Customer service has always been TERRIBLE. The Food is overpriced and not good. They throw the card reader at you rudely and then don't hand utensils when you order to go even if you asked for it before purchasing. My friends and I have agreed we will no longer eat here. Hopefully they get new staff and a better recipe book because until then we wont return.

Absolutely terrible service. Ordered a cake for my birthday, they messed up the days so when it came to pick it up for my birthday dinner it wasn t ready. Totally understand that mistakes happen but then to make matters worse, instead of trying to help or offer to make amends for their mistake they said we d have to pay MORE money to get a cake a different cake.

TERRIBLE service. If YOU mess up an order, especially on someone s special day, you should be offering to make up for it. NOT charge the customer more money.

Ive had a couple people (as well as me) find that they are actively rude to asian people... this older lady serving me skipped me in line after we made eye contact.. went to serve the next person in line who immediately pointed out that I in fact was next. whattya want she said in a super condescending voice after OBVIOUSLY skipping me and super abrasive considering the kind laughing voice she was using with others. She was just audibly annoyed with me when I only asked for a slice of their cake (which was great) and a coffee. But many of my asian friends have said the same thing to me that they were treated so rudely and talked down to... super upsetting considering the food itself is great. Racist as fuuuuuuuuuck
