I wanted to report on arrival from international flights the long line that is created for passport control, especially for those who have families with children under the age of 14. Arrived today we had two and sometimes only a control door

It is definitely not as big as Dubai or Singapore airport, nor as Doha or Chicago, or to stay in Europe, Frankfurt or Paris. However - in my opinion - that I have seen and reviewed so many airports in half the world, from Dallas-Fort Worth to Taipei, or from Stockholm to Bangkok, the Marco Polo di Venezia Tessera is an excellent, elegant, tailor-made airport. 'man, who does not attack you with commercial galleries in which travelers are forced to long gymkhanas among an infinite series of shops that do not serve an airport, but are the reason for some bad airports (one for all, that of London Stansted). So for this reason and also because I have left and returned from this airport an infinite number of times, for short or very long journeys, I assign it five stars.
Beautiful airport run by incapable Venice airport is certainly very beautiful and evocative, thanks to its position with a track directly on the Venice lagoon. Unfortunately it is run by incapable or overly attentive to gains rather than to customer services. Access to, and how you approach the airport, is free for only 7 minutes transit with the car, so if you have someone accompany you have to leave in the street, without even parking for short stopovers . Obviously the only purpose is to get the parking fee, dear one. So if I have to pay everything, will I have many services? No! If you have the misfortune to arrive late in the evening, you have to wait 15 mintes away, and more for the arrival of the bus that all'aereostazione ports, when you're forced to wait another 15 minutes for the arrival of the entry stairs !! Not to mention the Lost & Found service, hours of waiting for the few open counters and non-working online service !! Congratulations on services!
It 'happened yet. The access barriers to the short parking have not been able to dispose of the modest incoming traffic. Result: queue along the entrance lane, stay times well over the seven minutes allowed, passengers forced to leave the car in motion? parked? Difficult to understand, no maneuver was possible. Neither access to the parking lot nor the exit from the airport area. I thank only for the diligence in the response to the criticisms, not in the facts and I repeat that it was much better before.
Airport refurbished to new, with very large and well kept spaces. Boarding is on the 1st floor. Inside we find various shops, newspapers, bars and car rental. Usually waiting time at Chek in and short, friendly staff. Various parking facilities for long or short stops, or in the area there are private parking lots with connections to the airport. Free parking for up to 10 minutes after 6.50 hour is 3 each hour thereafter.
The airport is very nice the only downside is that close to the gates you don't have the chance to buy anything last minute. Also when you reach the passport control, if you are an adult you need to go through a machine and scan your face first but this doesn't apply to minors. In my case I was with a minor and didn't know of this kind of difference and tried for a god 10 minutes to figure out why our passports were not working and there was no one there to ask. I saw a police officer busy checking someone passport on the other side and tried to catch his attention. He said that with minors we had to do manual check. No where was a written message saying so, and waisted a lot of time. Because I speak Italian I was able to help a family behind me as well that had same problem. There are no signs in that area where you have to go with minors for passport checks. Finally was able to get to my gate but have had no time to buy my child some water. Plus the BA business lounge was closed.
Modern and efficient airport, heavily penalized by a controlled traffic area that turns into a trap for those who are going to pick up or accompany travelers. You risk very high fines if the transit time exceeds 7 minutes and the parking lots are quite expensive. Not recommended.
The BA staff didn't seem to communicate very well with us as to what was needed to board smoothly. Other than that, the airport was clean and very presentable.
Airport in constant evolution. It is a pity that there is no connection with Venice via surface subway, which does not allow it to be at the top of world standards.
Even if you stay near the airport, you can travel to Venice main island by using public transportation. It takes about 25 minutes by bus 5 from the airport to the main island of Venice. It is recommended to use a 1 to 2 day pass ticket (it is cheaper to pass a pass at the hotel). The bus fare is quite expensive for 8 euros. It is convenient to use a taxi when there are accommodations near the airport and there are more than 4 people. About 15 minutes by taxi is about 25 dollars. If you are traveling for free, it may be okay to find a place where you can find cheap accommodation near the airport.
Very well organized and staff and structure very attentive to the rules for containing Covid, from measuring the temperature with the thermoscanner to maintaining safety distances in every place. Very convenient and close parking. Recommended!
Zero staff present, zero anti-video prevention, file without safety distance at each gate, I personally assisted an elderly person while looking for someone to help him find a support / chair. An airport like this cannot afford to have these quarrels. Never again if not for last choice / need !!!
Empty which is sad ... I did see a rapid covid test sign so that's a step in the right direction! My flight just arrived and the KLM. To Amsterdam is just behind!! Highlight of the day!!
Unfortunately I had very little time to shoot at the airport but it made an excellent impression on me. Large, clean and full of shops. Connections ok from and to Venice.
Catastrophic organization. No staff has his job. Average delay of 3 hours for lack of ground staff. Pseudo luxury shops galore that it is useless. A firm take off run during the tourist season. It does not make you want to come back to Venice
Embarrassing. Parking 30 euros a day. 7 minutes maximum transit by car otherwise fine, non-existent catering services in the evening, sidewalks ... not received. We conclude with very poor security checks. More than a sight card for Veneto, it's a goodbye postcard.
Much smaller airport than I thought, the layout is confusing and took a while to navigate to some food. Settled for a cafe as restaurant didn't open until 11. Customer service was poor as they left our pizza in for 15 minutes before asking us what we were waiting for. The next one was in for less than 1 minute so was cold. Now still hungry and that cost us almost 10 euros. Appauling facilities for the main Venetian airport. Just bought a carbonara - try and spot the ham....
Clean accesible Airport. Walk from Car Rental place is a little far and opens late. They have drop off boxes but it's scary to drop off your car like that in another country.
Renovated. More expatient. The ATVO and Flixbus buses and the local buses arrive and leave. DEPARTURES on the first floor. ARRIVALS on the ground floor.
Zero stars would be ideal, between delays and cialtronerie this airport is one of the shame of Italy. One of the thousand examples, today they have mixed suitcases between two planes, causing an hour of delay in the departure. Rude and arrogant staff, absurd prices in the refreshment area complete a shameful picture
I read review that said this airport should be a model. No effing way! Couldn't check-in until 2hrs before flight departure. Tried to buy in duty free. But checkout lines too long and ditched purchase. At gate 44. Free airport wifi not working here. And 5 bus 8:40 departure was super crowded. No luggage racks though obviously ever one was headed for the airport.
Seriously worst airport ever to depart and I've traveled worldwide. Allow extra hour for confusion. Enter in ground level to find check-in desk. Know your airline and ask airport staff who stand around talking to each other where is your desk. It will be on the ground floor. Then go OUTSIDE across the first drive and walk along the first railing until you see the escalator up to where ALL GATES go through security which was quick once you found it. Then not done. Find your gate and go through passport control. Allow at least fifteen minutes for that to be at international flight gate one hour in advance. It gets a star for six hour free wifi and decent food on upper floor. Arrival is a snap. Just walk out.
The check-in and control procedures have been greatly improved, and in a few minutes I was able to do everything and be ready for boarding. The interior is also very embellished, for an airport that is finally at the height of the city
Bad, zero education, a shame. Wrong beat the receipt puts me a brioche more and responds in a rude way when I point out the error Saying: "I have no time to lose with you"
The place where we love to deliver quality carbon road bike rental by Veloce. A good starting point to enjoy cycling in Veneto region of Italy and on Dolomites.
Not among the best airports. Not from that feeling of beauty that must capture as soon as you arrive in a big and beautiful city like Venice. It seems to have been expanded over time and not reinvented.
It is strange why Marco Polo Airport is not displayed in Japanese. In Europe, "Tessera Airport" does not work at all. Speaking of "Marco Polo Airport", it would be immediately transmitted.
Absolutely NOT run with the customer / passenger in mind. Expensive, inconvenient, slow if at all, service The access was designed by someone politicians not too bright nephew. Parking is criminal and Staff rude. This is my assessment after flying in and out of Marco Polo for more than 30 years. It's close to home (an hour or so) which is it's only advantage.
I always travel from this airport, being a non-EU citizen I have to stop at passport control, and well since a few months and become a nightmare, there are very long lines I had in front of me more than 300 and passes people of different nationalities and only 4 branches out of 8 working Yesterday I arrived with the 2.10pm flight from Tirana and at 3.11pm I remember that 10 people had moved in front of me. Having just had an intervention I was forced to call one of the guys who worked there to let me out because I fainted. I'm very irritated and disappointed, you can't treat people like that, take a 1 hour and 10 minute trip and wait more than 3 hours for passport control is absurd.
The airport + EasyJet combo was very complicated: on the way out, however, it was fine, we were able to disembark quickly. The return, early in the morning, was very complicated: with children, parked standing there waiting for the plane to be ready (30 min), then waiting in the bus (15 min). When we get on the plane, we think it s going to be fine. No, still a lot of waiting (50 min) to defrost the wings of the plane - it is true that this cannot be expected, the weather has only existed for hundreds of years - Only the EasyJet staff were good, pleasant and cheerful.
We already have the stress as a customer to arrive 1h30 before the flight even at 6am - otherwise we are made to understand that we may not have our flight -, not to exceed by a few centimeters the size of cabin baggage , then we are parked like animals before the slaughterhouse, in the boarding rooms and then on the plane.
Zero service, all the stress on customers, no responsibility, no compensation when you are 1 hour late. I hope that little by little consumers will return to other forms of service, me first: calm, kindness and efficiency and not a system of saving candles.
Last thing, it is useless to send me a link for your website, and to pretend to understand my position. No interest.
Venice airport is just the worst, most disorganized and badly designed airport (for the quantity of people coming to Venice) that I have ever seen. I will avoid this airport in the future at all cost!!!
Small quaint airport. I've been to many airports. This was very busy. Try to find a reputable taxi to get to Venice or as I was lucky to have a friend with a personal boat and he took my sister and I Venice. Not a bad airport.
So far never had problems .. Once there was no need to park for a quick stop! But .. if you want to have some "tips" ask those gentlemen who are waiting for tourists at the arrivals .. fantastic !!
All right. With good services and clean toilets. The boarding very fluid. In addition some chairs are padded and it is appreciated if you have to wait a few hours.
