This airport used to be a bit better. Tidy shopping area but the toilets were disgusting. Urine all over the seats and the floor. Poor hygiene and the only reason not giving them one star is the nice layout and design of the place.
Oh, nearly forgot. Considering this is Italy the coffee was a bit of a disaster that I bought in the Hub. Served tepid. Wanted to use the two microwaves in the seating area and but not working.
Place is being worked on to be extended for a long time now, making the whole entrance/exit are very noisy. A little bit too small on the inside for the moment.

Venezia Marco Polo Airport is a small but very nice and modern airport. The furnishings are of high quality, as are the various shops. As a passenger, you walk here on real wood parquet flooring, there are enough free charging stations available. While waiting at the gate, it is worth taking a look at the floor ... here as a passenger, you stand on duplicates made of linoleum by the great masters such as Titian and Tintoretto, which you can still admire the day before on the walls and ceilings of the Doge's Palace or in the Venice churches would have.
Large airports such as Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin (Tegel), Munich, Frankfurt a.M., Zurich or Schiphol cannot keep up in terms of equipment and ambience.

Lovely airport and easy access by water taxi. No problems with checking, just make sure you have everything ready.
Service quality that manages nonexistent reimbursement, twice it happened that the information on the displays which show the flights were not correct, if the plane was already embarking on the display there was no information that indicated, inaccuracies absolute and the perfect way to make people miss a flight so for the refund you have to turn on a light.
This is supposed to be an internationally known airport! IT SHOULD!

This airport is to small to handle all the passengers. Totaly chaotic, no or very litle information to get.....no one seems to know anything......Next time i visit Venice, will be by train from another City.
We are now still waiting for take off ( delayed at this moment for nearly 3 hours), missed our gap....and must wait for another opening in the air.
One thing to say.....im glad i visited Venezia in september an not in July.

Today I went to pick up the youngest daughter who arrived with the companion of the Alitalia and left 40 minutes late after the scheduled time and I paid the parking for an hour 14. The ztc 7 minutes ????? But what are you making up! Never again will I go to this airport.

Our flight to Montreal on August 17 with Air Transat from 12:15 was 1hr15 ahead and saw the lack of staff, the waiting line was endless, they made us pass quickly. 5 stars for that !!!!

The airport has recently been connected better with the road by inserting some roundabouts which make the lane change safer. It looks well built ... It does not smell, it is constantly cleaned .... in addition there are several sofas where to wait for arrival (in excellent condition) and have equipped different points of cellular charging turrets.
The problem is for the flights that arrive late at night: as far as I know, there are no buses that leave after midnight forcing passengers arriving late to take a taxi (at really high costs) or to call some friends to go to the city .
In 2020 you arrive on a Sunday with a plane at 23:50 and there is no public service (bus or vaporetto) to take you to the city ... incredible!

We checked in yesterday on flight to Malta. We were not the first but towards the beginning. It took us over an hour in the queue. When we arrived in front of the check in counter seats next to each other were available but staff checking in, took so long that we were the last from our group to finish and seats were taken. We had to sit on the plane separated as a family and this was due to the long time spent at check in. Staff took extremely long and people in other lanes were ready way time before us. Gate on moniter came up and soon after started boarding. This should be up for some time before boarding. Otherwise airport is clean and nice.
Huge lines, poor organization and logistical management.
There is only one entry door on the first floor and is for departing passengers only. Arrivals one exit door (no entry) only on the ground floor for passengers. No one else is allowed in the building so can't rate the airport and thus a default rating of average
Well organized airport. Very convenient and well-positioned parking spaces with respect to departures / arrivals. Flights to various destinations around the world. Even after the security checks there are many services (self-service, shops, bars, etc.).
International travelers beware! This airport has an exit customs bottleneck after you pass security and the duty free shop. Prepared to send an hour longer than you expected to get to your gate. The line wraps Around all the retail shops in the main area of the airport. This is easily the most poorly managed airport I have been to in a developed country.

Once inside the airport helpful staff aplenty should you need information. Not crowded on the day and time we were there. Plenty to eat and drink with lots of options available. Security was again straightforward. Good selection of shops in duty free area. Overall a good airport experience.

Slowest border police service I've seen. Took about 50 minutes waiting in line and they had to hold our plane for us to board. Avoid if possible.
I don't see what all the complaints of queues were about, security was a breeze, passports were a breeze and boarding was easy. My only complaint is that this airport has virtually no seating for the vast amounts of people that flow through, as we were forced to sit on the floor in a corner. In all, security took about 10 minutes including queue, passport control took 15 minutes including queue.
It's an okay airport. I kind of felt like cattle that was being herded to the boats. At $125 a pop to take a boat to venice, it's no wonder. It's best to do your research on the best and most economical ways to get into Venice. If money is no object or if it is, you can take different paths into Venice.
Place itself is very clean and tidy, really nice airport. Food and drink is well overpriced though.

Unbelievably long lines, inefficient service. Non functioning air conditioning. Plane had to be redirected to another airport because of defficient runway infrastructure. All in all the worst airport in northern Italy (or elsewhere) we've been to.

While I have always found the starting procedures fairly quick, it is not conceivable, at the arrival of a flight with 300 people, a one-hour queue for passport control, both for Europeans and for non-Europeans.

The floors are pretty, Mostly efficient check-in and gate access. Rental cars can be confusing to reach. Security is quick. Flights I've flown have departed punctual.

Today I accompanied my daughter to leave for the UK. After check in and before parting, we had a coffee at the counter in front of the entrance for the security check.
I understand well that in airports or stations the prices of drinks can be adjusted upwards but paying 1.40 for a (normal) coffee seems exaggerated in light of the quality of the service provided at that price.
The drink was served in a paper cup, so I had to arrange on my own to get the (plastic) teaspoon and the sugar at a table separate from the counter.
Later and always independently I had to arrange for the disposal of the used material in the appropriate bins placed next to the table mentioned above.
