Complete nightmare with a 7 and 9 year old going through customs. We were sent to the family line which was actually the line for all passports that were not automated. Had only two very slow customs people for a line of over 100 people. Took over 1.5 hours to get through the line. No one seemed interested in helping or making things run more efficiently. Not a great way to welcome tourists that spend a lot of money in the city.

Excellent airport, I say this as a Venetian. Served by many companies, some even low cost. Recently refurbished it is now very nice, security checks really quick and foolproof. There are many shops in the area after the checks. Highly recommended

A surprisingly large airport and very lively. Our family went to Portugal for 5 days. Everything was no problem. For a first visit, it is advisable to arrive a little earlier and take a quick look at things. Like most frequency airports, the arrivals and departures here are separated on two floors. It's a little unusual to get lounges to the 1st floor with parking bags ... so take your time. Better yet: In today's age of the Internet, plan ahead for the Web through parking and see where something is.
The cheapest parking is outside at P3 or at P5. (we paid 42 for 5 days). Otherwise, space is always found. It's safe, but because of storms, one never knows how or what ...?

Terrible experience both arriving and departing. After landing on arrival we had to sit while waiting for the stairs to be brought out to the tarmac and then wait while they brought buses to bring us to the terminal, more waiting at really slow line ups at customs. Departure was even worse. After check in and security check we had to go into a third line up for passport check? Very unorganized. When we finally found our gate there were no "zones" just a big area where we all stood packed in for about one hour. Would avoid this airport if possible.

Clean airport, looks modern, easy to get around, has a view to Venice, it's open 24 hours, the first floor has comfortable chairs, some caffes open before 6 am, there are buses to train station in Venice.

If you have parking problems, for example with a ticket, they will really help you. If you no longer have your ticket, you can use your license plate to track when you are in and how long you have been parked there. GREAT!!!

overall the airport was and is nice - two floors with a lot of space and even on the inside after you do the security check there are a few bars where you can do a nice aperitif and some important brand stores like bulgari and loro piana! the only thing that i didn t like and was the most annoying part was that when i landed, it was early in the morning, so we wanted to do breakfast, however, even though we did breakfast with a cookie each and a cappuccino, the overall price was a killer - it was way to expensive but you really couldn t do anything about that... good experience but watch out for breakfast!!

Damn hot and then extremely air-conditioned in the waiting area. Nice shops. Security checks take some getting used to (provided you don't have a trolley), as you only get the cups at the end of the conveyor belt.

The good: This is one of the better airports I've visited. My experience here was really pleasant for the few hours I was here. Getting to the airport is very easy, and navigating around the airport is very easy with how well everything is sign posted and laid out. The airport is very clean (for the most part), airy, and modern. We especially loved the waiting lounge with the most comfortable chairs I've seen at an airport for a very long time. Getting through security was quick and easy and staff members are very friendly.

The bad: The toilets were generally modern but not very clean. I didn't see any cleaning staff so every toilet cubical was dirty and messy, very unpleasant. I went to at least four bathrooms around the airport and all were unclean and messy. It would also be nice to see free water filling stations, once you're past security the only water you can find is expensive 3.50 500ml bottles from the fancy cafe's and restaurants.

Overall, a lovely airport to fly too.

Quite expensive place, not much food for the money either. There are often long queues, so it is good to buy fast-track .... Easy to find around, but as in all new places where chaos easily occurs - eg airports, it is good if you just spend some time on orientation and can not be distracted.

the airport since there is a new part is better but a complete crap to take the car rental .. you always have to wait hours when the car you have already booked the worst in Italy I would say.

Worst airport I have ever been to. There were two passport agents when I arrived. It took hours to clear customs and a second passport control line prior to boarding. The airport administration needs a hard kick in the pants. Avoid this airport at all costs!

Great. Clean. Organized well. Parking spaces right in front of the arrivals, both for short and long stops.
At the exit from the parking lots it is not necessary to put the ticket, paid to the automatic tills, but the bar rises automatically, I think it reads the license plate.
The offices inside are very efficient, some keep open until late.

All very functional, clean and comfortable even though looks massive. Perhaps to improve the offers of shops, both numerically and qualitatively, as designed exclusively for the Japanese (at least the gastronomic offer which is absolutely poor is not feasible Italians) .For the rest is still a construction site for the expansion works will hopefully also think about other travelers.

Due to the renovation not very nice from the perception, shops quite ok
If a disassembled engine is lying next to an aircraft on the parking space, it is worrying that the overall impression is provincial. Photos were not worth it.

I put 2 stars for the lack of education of the ladies of the counters of Iberia that on October 26 at 6.15 in the morning their education is very bad towards the client I think that Iberia could teach them and give them some education and ethics classes

Rather clean airport. To go from one floor to another, you have to go outside (maybe because of temporary work).
To reach Venice, boats shuttle for the modest sum of 27 euros round trip.
Attention, for the return, the boats can go directly to the airport without marking the stop at your station when they are already full

This airport is very chaotic, no sense of organization. Be super early in order to avoid any delays as you are most likely to encounter one before you get to the airport. You will go through security initially and then there will be another long line up before you get to the gate for passport check. Then at the gate itself, you will be taken in bus to the actual plane. Its a mission.

Good availability of staff at check-in without the available professionalism of these young ladies, three adults and a small one of a month and a half would have missed a very important flight for all of them. As everywhere there will be perfectible situations but certainly not linked to the capabilities of the various operators

They are one of the victims of the radar. In critical situations where the organization must be guaranteed, in this case there was not. Unfortunately I do not conceive as a radar in 2019 ormaipossa determine disruptions of this magnitude (in the largest international airport of the Triveneto) and that can not be repaired in decent times, especially close to the holidays. The staff then is not the greatest kindness.

While waiting for the suitcase to come out, I bought a bus ticket from the nearby ATVO ticket machine. The ticket vending machine can use a credit card. You can go to Mestre Station every 20 minutes by intervals. The suitcases are safe and standard shuttle bus. As soon as you leave the arrival lobby and go outside, you will be the bus stop. There were about 4 stops at Mestre Station.

It is too far away to Venice, the only reasonable way to go to venice is by vaporetto, I would recomend to take the cheapest vapporeto and walk, everything in venice is really close. We took the orange line and we paid 27 euros for the round trip ticket.
Here there is no place to eat fast food. So it is better to come with the stomach full.
The migatrion part is really fast and employees are very kind.
You have to walk like 600 meter to reach the vaporeto, is not to close

I think that main problem of this airport is that ...

I think that main problem of this airport is that it is underdimensioned, and undermanned, with respect to the traffic it has to cope with. It is the 4th Italian airport in terms of traffic but it looks like a small provincial airport. So often there are huge lines for the check-in and for the security check. Personnel must be overstressed and as a result they are often quite impolite. Once inside the gate area it is quite nice, however again, it may be overcrowded. Restaurant facilities are insufficient; there are some fastfoods, the only place where you can have a decent meal is too small and often there are only two waiters to serve at the tables, so that it may take an hour for eating one dish. I was there during a fake bomb alarm a couple of months ago- it started while I was waiting for my luggage in the baggage claim area - and the way the personnel and direction handled the emergency was appalling - crazily disorganized and extremely impolite.

Update on March 2019: The airport has been fully refurbished, and it is now better. Lines at check-in and at the security check are usually reasonable. On the other hand, in the departure all there are still too few seats, there is only one food outlet, and it is very expensive. Personnel are still on the grumpy side.

Convenient airport to reach very welcoming and spacious but be careful of the parking lots that I find too expensive both to leave the car for a few minutes and those immediately beautiful near the airport.

The airport is small but functional, has a smoking room (although it is small, it is neglected and no plug works) and a short time from the center of the city by bus or boat. The controls are fast and the staff is friendly.

I give it two stars because it CAN NOT HAPPEN in the 21st century that there ARE NO PLUGGES in the waiting areas when today everyone has an electronic ticket and many dead hours. There are only some scattered columns (you have to stand and next to it to load your device, there are few and even queues are formed).

Very rude staff, nobody mentioned are check in desk had broke down. Kept moving the queue around to suit other passengers, when people pushed in we where told it was up to us to tell them to move. Had to rush through security and passport control to get onto our flight.
