Purchased a wheelchair for my mom. Very hard for her to turn the wheels and she does not use it. Since we paid cash and it has been in our home they will not take it back. They rent wheelchairs, they are in someone s home so what s the difference. I do not recommend them and regret the purchase.

Was given the wrong type of splint by CAMC provider and was then charged $175.00 for it by Active Medical! Wore it a day and threw it out. Buyer beware, always ask what you are being charged for. The temporary splint I bought at drug store was better than this. Big racket.

My mother, with COPD, has waited for a week now, to get a refill oxygen tank as a backup in case the electricity goes out. Weather reports predicted high winds last week and many possible power outages so we needed the backup to her others. Thank God, the power just flickered and came back on. It is a week and 3 calls later and still no oxygen tank. I hope she doesn t die before we a refill tank.

Quite possibly my worst customer service experience in my life. The saga extends over a 5 month period. I come in with a script for a specific knee brace and request it by name. However I was told by Active Medical what I needed (so much for listening to the customer). So after a quick bait and switch tactic and $3,000 later a completely different set of knee braces were ordered. They were not right and couldn t be used. Active Medical has refused to order the prescribed braces or issue a refund to my insurance so I can get the right braces elsewhere. Since then I have called another local provider and they bent over backwards to serve me, listen to me, take the proper measurements and get me the prescribed knee braces all within 3 weeks. If you want good customer service and medical equipment as prescribed then AVOID Active Medical.
