Its definitely a must visit. Also there are a lot of stairs and rocky pathways so wear something comfy shoes.

Five stars if you arrive at the moment it opens. If you show up after 10am, it's utterly swarmed by tourists, and really better viewed from the street or the museum -- I found the experience quite disappointing. That said, I went back the next morning right at open, and it was much nicer, especially wandering the slopes.
This is the only site which is worth to be visited by the tourists. It is on a hill so you need to do a bit hiking to visit it. The ticket is 20 euros for his but for people with age 25 and less will have 50 percent discount. You can have a great view of the city from there
This place is full of history and worth the hike up to see some of humankind's greatest architectural achievements. Take footwear with good grip because the marble pathways can be slippery.
We got here early on a bus tour and had a good look around. Loads of people here when we left. Very hot.
Exciting location with great history.
Impressive area for tourists.
Guard change always a great activity.
One of the bucket list. Try to get there early and wise to buy your ticket online @ approx 22 euro. The rear entrance is easier to get through as line isn't as long. Give yourself 3 hours minimum there and take water, although there are water taps on top. Opens at 8am usually. Wheelchair access would very hard.
Amazing, I would highly recommend coming here at sunrise. The view is spectacular. Well worth the climb and early start. Highly recommend this if you are in Athens.
Easily the most beautiful place in Plaka, Athens. However... The vending machines with water (all of them...!) did not work which made the walk to the top a bit less relaxed in 38 degrees with limited shade. Bring your own water and don't count on the vending machines.
Absolute phenomenal experience. Greece is a beautiful country with beautiful architecture and historical sites to see. The Parthenon, even though partially under revamp,
Must be seen in Athens, good to visit inside during the day and outside during the night, there is an amazing view.
Its not very busy right now, can definitely recommend going at this time
Amazing, you need to go there to see in person. Any of the pictures you can find will give you the right perspective of it!
Yep. If your in Athens you gotta see it. The columns are made of marble. Its amazing that its lasted over 2000 yrs.
The pic of History and architecture! This is the most copied building in the world, you have seen something similar again for sure, but... This is the original and if you can you have to visit it at least once in your life.
Must do. But get the 30pass that has 5 or 6 options as well as the acropolis. It last for 5 days and its 20 just to go up to the acropolis and the Ancient Angora (the old downtown of ancient Athens) is $10 so if you see 3 sites it's already paid for its self. Well worth it.
Due to the pandemic, the hill was really quiet and i loved it allot allot
Iconic spot in Athens that everyone wants to visit. However, we (both students) had to pay the full 20 at the box office despite showing valid college and military academy ID cards. The lady was clearly instructed to ignore any card that did not read 'university', despite what the official (govt.) website says.
One of a kind experience. I highly recommend wearing sneakers (the limestone is very slippery), putting sunblock and bringing sunglasses (and a hat) if you are coming in the height of summer (and water). If with kids, bring Band-Aids (although the old museum has a first aid clinic) and skip the stroller if you can, otherwise you will have to check it as it is not allowed. Enjoy!
Super cool!!! You could spend hours here and still not see it all.
A great wonder of the civilized world. Breathtaking views.
We went post 5pm, which was less busy and less hot. Definitely check for the tablet guides BEFORE entering, we did the mistake and didn't get them.
Definitely the best sight in Athens. The park below, the climb to the top and the Acropolis itself are very unique! Majestic area; make sure you go to museum as well! Definitely worth to experience!! Highly recommend!!!
It is a place where yourself is competing vast history and at the same time with our present and future. Everyone must pay a visit!
Somebody, who visited Acropolis a few years ago, told me that Pericle did a great job here. Well, I totally agree.
I m convinced that it is already in your must see POI so I will not begin to write about how overwhelming can be the greatness of these ancient temples.
Just two tips that I find important: bring some water with you and wear a hat. There are only stones and marble around you and, most of the days, the sun above.
A local guide is also very useful. You can learn a lot about Ancient Greece.
The Acropolis is everything I imagined it would be. In fact, I wanted to touch the ground to prove I was truly there.
Some things to keep in mind. The walk up is long and gets steeper. There are also some steps to negotiate. There are virtually no handrails. Once at the top, the surface changes to marble, which is very slippery when DRY. It would be terrifying, if wet. I used my cane so much today, I wore the metal through the rubber tip. That's not good. A walker would be useless given the changing terrain. Don't try to push a wheelchair up. That said, on the south(?) end there is an elevator. Ask BEFORE you use your ticket and walk through the gate. I wish I'd used the elevator. Keep in mind you'll miss some wonderful attractions, if you choose to do that. Places such as the Theatre of Dionysus and a Roman amphitheatre, for instance.
If you buy a multi-venue ticket, you may only visit each site ONCE. As the closing time draws near, the staff will blow whistles to get you to move out. They don't want people to snap anymore photos or sit. They wanted us out of there. That said, they did let a couple of us take a few minutes to catch our breaths. A BIG THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!
I spent about an hour on the Acropolis and I'm satisfied with how much time I had. There is no entering the Parthenon or Erechtheion. The first due to conservation. The second because there is no floor in spots!
The trip up the hill is totally worth it! Enjoy my pictures and share your stories!
Gorgeous place with quite a few ruins mostly in good shape. Too bad it is in a near constant state of repair with lots of scaffolding and big cranes.
Beautiful. Incredible views. A must and worth every penny. 10 each. Long walk but worth it.
So beautiful. So glad to see that the Greeks are doing everything to maintain and preserve such an amazing national treasure. Highly recommend going to see The Parthenon atop The Acropolis.
So many tourists, very nice view but would love more stories about the history to read !
Advise: get here as early in the day as you can. It gets super crowded from 10 to 16 and the visit is difficult and slow. Except this small detail everything is well preserved and probably is the most important thing to visit if you are in Athens. I advised afterwards to visit also the Acropolis museum, to understand all the history of the Acropolis and the temples.
Nothing like history spend a lot of time here and it was a wonderful experience.
It was very impressive. There was a guide giving information about its history and that makes the experience better. Also there is a very good scene of Athens from Akropolis even we could not enter into it.
A must be place to visit. With awesome vew at the top who you can see the whole Athens from there. All the place is historical with ancient ruins temple's statues etc from ancient Greece. Be aware of the floor because is kinda slippery.
Recommend to get your tickets before you visit. Great views with a lot of history!
I visted in March 2020 and it was under construction. To get a better picture, go to back side.
Beautiful especially in the afternoon hours close to closing time. It isn't as hot and there is a cool breeze!
It's amazing to think how was live back then. Imagine this buildings in their splendor! Just unbelievable. Is breathtaking!
Worth taking a guided tour of Acropolis and Parthenon to learn more about Greek history. Nice views once you reach the top, make sure to wear a hat and bring water as it gets very hot!
I have been there already 3 times and it stays one of my favourite places in Europe. Of course it is much better to visit Acropolis out of the summer season. No queque and you can take lot of nice pictures (some proofs here). The view is amazing, you can see all the Athens surrounding the hill ! Wow.
The most historic place of Greece. It's our honor that we born in this city.
Everyone has to visit this place once in his life.
A must see when your in Athens. Views are beautiful especially from the top of the mountain. It can be windy, so hold your hat ;) Be careful of the slipery stone floor aspecially with slippers, advise to weat comfortable shoes. When entering the (at the ticket entry) be aware no other drinks than water are allowed at the Acropolis.
One of the most amazing places to put on your bucket list
Remarkable historical location! Be ready to take quick photos by avoiding headless tourists. #xaviermcsix
I didn't pay to enter the park. The views were just as beautiful on the rock right next to the entrance. Be careful though. The rocks are super slippery
Another bucket list complete which was more than expected. Do yourself a favour and go in the afternoon at dusk when all the tourists have left otherwise expect to join the calf path
You must visit it to get a complete feel for the magnitude of this edifice. Come to this place and then ask yourself: Is there any creation of mankind that will stand? Is there anything I can do to save the good things we have now? Their continuation is not guaranteed.
Inspiring place due to covid quiet enjoyable as not too many tourists are in the city! Outstanding views ! Still under construction
Beautiful very busy. Lots of tourists hard to get decent pictures people running in front of you all the time. But it truly is beautiful and the panoramic view of Athens when you are there is amazing.
Of course it is going to be amazing! Loved how close you could get to the pathenon. The ground can be very slippery as the granite and marble is worn very smooth. So wear decent shoes. There are toilets at the entrance and right at the Parthenon. The walk up was easy and not hard at all.
A must visit monument in Athens..
Entry fee is 20 and you might have to stand in a long Q for tickets.
The monument is really high and gives an amazing view of the city..
Reallllly amazing monuments and antics from the pass.... cant miss it
The most visited and well-known attraction in Athen. No matter you go inside to visit it, take a look from the city street or see it at night, it s always eye catching and stunning. Highly recommend if you plan to visit the Acropolis, go to the Acropolis museum first to learn more about its history and download audio guide while you visit.
It's the acropolis. Why would anyone miss the opportunity to see this amazing, historical landmark (or the nearby museum)? If you can't answer that question, then don't bother going. It's lost on you. Clue: it's the birthplace of our civilization and school of thought. If you didn't know that, please stay in Texas.
Nice historical spot
Iconic for Athen
Nice view either from top or away ..
Very crowded
There is a hill near to it , it has nice view on the city and acropolis
Stunning. The peac of history infront my very eyes.
Visited and old friend who is getting a facelift! I have visited here many times over the last 35 years and it still delights!
Of course a must see historical site witnessing the fundamental development humanity went through, which shapes our modern life.
Just amazing, the view, the experience and of course the ancient buildings. It's really impressive. I would recommend to go as soon as possible in the morning or later at 19 o clock. Then it might be less crowded and the walk is better without a strong burning sun on your head. If you go between 12 and 17 take a hat with you.
Really cool to see such an iconic piece of historical architecture up close and a fantastic view of the city around it.
Amazing views of the city of Athens and the ancient temples built for the Greek gods. If you are staying in Athens, then you must visit the Acropolis. It's stunning.
Stunning view! You can see all of Athens from the top!
Entrance fee is 20. My advice is that you visit after 18.00. much cooler. There is a Ticket office at the top!
Great views, lots of different perspectives from Athens. The site is quite big so I would suggest you spend at least 2 hours there... In my view the tickets should be a little cheaper. Wear good shoes, there will be lots of climbing until you get to the top.
20 euros per adult and kids less than 5 years old are free, nice experience...
Get there before 9am to avoid tourists from cruises!!
The more history and background you have about the Parthenon the more you will appreciate the ruins.
However, the view is fantastic and worth going just for that.
I don't usually get thrilled by museums but its architecture is award winning and has many interesting artifacts.
The whole experience including the climb is worth doing at least once in your lifetime. The renovation equipment on site slightly ruins the experience though.
Nothing to say. The place speaks for itself tens of centuries now.
Dreamt of seeing this place as a kid and didn't disappoint. Yes there is scaffolding and a crane up there but it doesn't take away from the amazing sites and the view of Athens is worth the trip up. Would recommend to go before the end of march when it is far less crowded
A well preserved place with a lot of history. The only inconvenience is the impossibility of getting a parking slot if you're using a rented car.
No.1 sight in athens.. The place is amazing.. you can feel the history in the place !
The beautiful acropolis is the heart of Athens and it's the must visit attraction in the city. The location is easily accessible by public routes and the entry is ticketed. However the tickets are freely distributed at the ticket office (not sure whether this is the case for all times of the day as we visited at 5.30pm). There after it's all the way up to the summit to enjoy the views of the acropolis and the city.
What a wonderful gifts from antiquity. With many wars, sacking and earthquake but the building on top of the Acropolis stood the test of time.
This is essential. It's worth visiting. But you should be careful, in october it closed at 5 or 6 pm.
Amazing place for history lovers. This place is quite busy at noon. The place offers a beautiful 360 view of the city.
It's an amazing place to visit, the view is to die for and the ruins are exceptionally beautiful. It was just a pity that part of the Acropolis is under restoration but least then it can be enjoyed for thousands of years more.
Of course an important spot to stop in! I recommend going later in the afternoon to avoid crowds, maybe around 4-5!
Nothing special, not worth for 20 ....
Lot of "replikas" and " use your imagination "
An incredible locale of so much history over the last 2,500 years! The views of Athens are spectacular. Take care walking Around as the steps are uneven & slick. Go early as it is very very crowded.
Spectacular place with so much history. A must in any trip to Athens
Amazing historical place, super super super crowded. The people who work there were not very kind either. They kept shouting to tell people to walk faster, they forgot that there are lots of elderlies there and uneven pathway. We would walk faster if we could (without pushing of course), no need to shout really... even i understand there are some people who force stop for picture, but taking one while walking slowly with the lane should be allowed right?
Aside from that, Acropolis is the highlight of Athens.
Must to see place in Athens.
Greece has a great history from the ancient time and this historical heritage is the proof of its splendid history.
Enjoyed!
One of the greatest wonders of the ancient world. The crowds can seem as imposing as the site itself, so plan ahead, and leave yourself ample time to make the climb and work your way up the final sets of steps. That way you'll have plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere, the history, and the views once you're on top.
