Academy of Natural Sciences Review

Like tomorrow world in Disney, this is a dated museum. Good layout of building. The dioramas were old, like a museum of museums, but nicely done. Butterfly room was great.

Interactive and super kid friendly. I am glad we are members.

It only takes about 45 minutes to do this whole musuem. My son visited at about 4 years old and found it fascinating...returning at age 8 with his class trip, him and the other children we're very bored.

Has a awesome time. Some of the exhibits were kind of dated but overall it was very educational. I enjoyed myself.

Fun place with dioramas of different animals. The kids enjoyed it. Easy to see it all in a few hours. Very expensive. $101 for a family of 4 plus the dino exhibit. Then another $30 for sandwhiches in the cafe.

In additional to dinosaur bones and cool dioramas, there was lots of hands on stuff for the kids to do and interact with, a butterfly room, digging for fossils, live animal show. Great for the whole family.

My grandson loves dinosaurs and it was his first time there. He absolutely loved it. He wanted to go back in when he realized we were leaving lol

It was a fun place. This was my first time there for me and my girlfriend. We didn't an hour there and enjoyed ourselves.

It's very educational. If I had a family I will purchase a yearly membership. Just a pain in the butt Park.

This place has gotten a lot better since I was a kid. They're renovating a bunch of exhibits right now, which is good because they were crumbling. Nice place to spend a few hours, and great gift shop.

My grandson adored our trip here, as did I. Ticket price is a bit high in my opinion.

Great collection of fossils and dioramas. The latter can be a bit much, but it is well presented. The extra exhibit was a bit "boring" - extreme bugs.
The butterflies made the visit much better!

Been coming here since I was a kid, some things have changed but it's still just as wonderful as I remember it to be.

Kids enjoyed there time there, we were in town for 12 hours hot the zoo the academy and grabbed lunch.

I can remember visiting this museum as a child. There is always something going on for both children and adults. Side note: there is always parking on the 19th street side for those who frequent Center City.

Great for kids or adults! I went with my boyfriend and we had an absolute blast. The exhibits are beautiful and the diversity of the displays is enough to keep you busy for a while!

My family used to have a membership here when I was little, and I absolutely loved this place,! Such a great variety of things to do here! The interactive-ness of this place makes it great for children and is really engaging for the adults as well.

Four floors, do not skip the dioramas on the top floor. A.C. did not work well. It is a nice museum. Some cute interactive activities, like the camera room over the dino movie. Went on a Saturday, everything included.

Lovely small natural history museum. Small dinosaur exhibit and animal dioramas are the main attractions, but the top floor play/explore area is the best for families, as there are some areas to sit and play, as well as reptiles and insects on display. I wonder, though, whether the holding area for the tortoise is truly an appropriate insufficient space. #letsguide #bestofphilly

Wonderful place. I've been coming here since I was in Kindergarten. Well maintained with loads of really content. Well worth the membership cost.

You should definitely get a membership if you have kids. The Outside In room is perfect for young children. Older kids will appreciate the dioramas.

Got family passes on Groupon for a great price. Redemption was super easy and we went for the first time for the mythical creatures exhibit. It was well worth it. I had a great time with my family and we can't wait to go back.

Really great weekend spent at the museum - for Bug Fest. Kids learned so much and had a great time looking at everything there is to offer. Thank you to all the volunteers who answered questions, were ever so helpful and kind, and made the experience a positive one. It really is a gem of a spot to visit. Definitely take a day out to visit!

The academy of natural sciences was an amazing place! There were some of the displays that the children are allowed to touch and interact with!! The bug experience they have is absolutely, hand's down, amazing! I'm so thankful that I went back as an adult, I was able to appreciate it much more and also learned a lot of thing's I didn't know so left with a greater knowledge of so many different things! The staff was just wonderful, patient, full of information and a ton of fun facts and they had no problem at all explaining anything I had a question about and continued to answer our questions and throughout the day! I will definitely be coming back this summer for as much as I did learn there is still way more things there for me to learn about and Learn more about for instance the dinosaurs I could sit there all day and night just learning more about the dinosaurs!! This museum was extremely clean and just all around amazing!! I will be recommending it to all my friends!!! Not expensive either!!!

CSFP hosted an event here on Sunday March 17, 2019. As always the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our families really enjoyed themselves.

We had so much fun here! It is very kid friendly. We especially loved all the dinosaurs.

Came for a visit with my family it was really nice to see everything from the animals to the mummies. It was a very amazing experience. Everyone enjoyed it.

It was just ok.i dont think it's worth the money for the special stuff like the unicorn or dragon exhibit.

Good for students. You can also try the skybike. My son love it,its a good way of overcoming your fear of heights. If you want try the skybike be sure to wear proper clothes. It's a good learning experience for everyone.

Many generations of children have loved this museum. As an adult visiting, I felt that it was much smaller than I remember. Children will love this museum and it is a cheaper option than the Franklin Institute. Plan to spend about 3 hours.

Due to the renovations there is not a lot of the exhibits open to explore, unless paying for the special exhibits.

I loved this place, intetesting collections of dinosaur fossils such as T.rex, mosasaurus etc. They even have the reconstruction of Tiktaalik. I enjoyed it.
