a New Beginning Salon and Day Spa Review

This salon discriminated against me not being able to wear a mask! I told them when I made my appointment I cannot wear a mask for medical reasons they said that was fine. They decide to call me weeks later and said they will not allow anyone without a mask in their business! So because I can t tolerate a mask I cannot get services there! This is the ONLY business that has refused me service since the beginning of COVID! Even the hospital I had to have surgery in didn t force me to wear a mask! SHAME ON YOU!!

The best salon service around, well worth the cost. The staff is courteous, thoughtful, and talented! For years I went from hairdresser to hairdresser, but have been loyal to the salon for the past 7 years.

This salon is truly a relaxing experience. I enjoy knowing that the colors that are used aren't harsh on my hair. They change the color up when ever I'm ready for a change. They also log my color so if my hair stylist isn't available anyone else can mix and apply the color. This is in logged into the computer. Which is very handy. I have also had the best massage here. Well worth it.

Love it here! You are greeted the moment you walk in the door and then start with a cup of relaxing tea before having your hair done. Hairstylists and all staff are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend this salon!!

I just moved here from Fairfield, and am very pleased with A New Beginning in Bethel. The atmosphere is very welcoming and stylist Carrie really knows what she is doing. I was a little apprehensive about how to proceed with my hair today, but Carrie guided me through the whole process and I could not be happier with the outcome. I have been going to ANB for about 15 years. The last few years I have had spa services and use their products. Emily has been giving me facials and yesterday was no different. My skin feels fabulous after she is done. The facial products keep my skin feeling great between facials. Yesterday I also had a massage by Helen and that too was fantastic. I felt so relaxed when I left. Oh and I also did some Christmas shopping while I was there!

I received a gift certificate a Few months ago . Came in for a consult with Norma and could not have been happier. The aveda products are wonderful and they put a special touch to the services with a hand massage at the end.. couldn't be happier..

Excellent service and expertise! They massage your arms and hands while conditioner and your head sits in a warm towel!!! The prices are fair and better than other high end salons! They offer discounted root colors that have to go every two weeks!!!

I love coming here. I'm always treated special every time I come. I regularly have touch ups and always get the botanical treatment. I also love the Aveda product line with their earth friendly and sustainable ingredients. One of my favorite treats is the facial, which is always relaxing and refreshing. I've been coming here for about four years now and have never been disappointed!

The haircuts have varied from very good to ok. The stylists are very nice but I was very dismayed to hear how the staff was treated by the owner. They are paid next to nothing and people should know this. This is why I stopped going.

They have the right touch, relaxing hot tea when you arrive, friendly check in, and great services. The facial with the hand and foot massage is sublime! And the color club is a great deal.

I have been using the salon for haircuts with Shawna who is great. I recently decided to get a manicure and pedicure on the same day as a haircut figuring doing everything at one place would be easier. It was easier but not better at all. My haircut was great as always, Shawna is the best! My manicure and pedicure left a lot to be desired. My cuticles were never cut, nor pushed back. The nail polish was peeling and uneven the night after I left from having them done. I will not be returning for a manicure and pedicure anytime soon.

Great, full service salon and spa. Prices are VERY reasonable and the service is great. I am a regular for blowouts and have also enjoyed the facials. Love the free hand massage during the wash and blowdry while the conditioner sinks in.

Even in the time of COVID they were able to see me quickly and provide me with a great haircut. The location was clean and the protocols were all common sense and efficiently carried out. My haircut was exactly what I was looking for!

This salon offers a calming experience from the moment you check in. Have curly hair? David is the stylist to see! I m sure he is great with other types of hair, but if you have curls, you know how difficult it is to find someone who knows how to cut your hair!

After several years I returned to New Beginnings. My first haircut in January was ok, just the styist never really liste, to you. I asked for ang led front NOT SHORT. IT was ok.. I went back last week an X I won't go back. $60 to me is alot for a haidcut, BUT IF IT COUL D BE WHAT YOU ASK FOR. I believe they only know ONE CUT, SHORT, and don't listen to the client.. So, so disappointed. The most important thing I asked was don't cut my bangs! Snip off went the bangs. So I will now move on. I guess it's true you get what you pay for.
Make sure you don't take the last appointment of the day, you are rushed through, so disappointed.

I have been looking for a good salon for 3 years since I moved to the area in 2016. I have had the best highlights since I go to a new beginning . I won't go anywhere else . The team is amazing and they treat you so well . They are really professional and the products they use are so good ! I highly recommend this place.

I love A New Beginning, or Aveda as I usually refer to them. They have great service, and I LOVE the hand massage during my shampoo. I've seen many stylists here, as I don't prefer to make appointments weeks ahead. I like to call and say "what's available today or tomorrow.?" They are all great!

In one word, "Wonderful ". I have been a customer for 19 years and have never been tempted to change hair salons! Kudos to Carrie for always making my hair look beautiful!

U used to love this place .
Lots of things have been going on in the past months .

Last month I saw the desk attendants laughing on a costumer from back , whispering to each other how fat she was .i feel inconfortable just to see it The way they made fun on her .
The massage place is a place to relax not to be self conscious , vulnerable .

Anyway , I should say something but I didn't and I regretted.
Something changed over there , it is sad , that place used to be my favorite , maybe new ownership or manager .
I called several times to try to schedule massage and they never pick up the phone , I left several message that were never returned .
I walked in today , in attempt to book a massage for any day this week , they said that it were all booked through the end of the month ( today is the 17 ).
They anuncies a blow dry for $25,00 but all depends on the person that they book for you , you never know how much you will really pay because all depends on the hair stylists , some of it charges more and you just find out when you go to the front desk .
They offer me a botanical treatment for $25,00 and I decided to do
and then after she wash my hair she apply this liquid and putted my hair in a bun , she told me to keep the liquid and wash the hair at home in the next day , so o walk to the front desk to pay and she charge me extra $10,00 just for a bun that I even asked for .

I am happy to pay for my services and leave a generous tip too but I don't like the " snik in charge ",it does not make any sense .

Unfortunately I had no other option than cancel my membership after 12 years .

How good is to pay a monthly membership if you are unable to schedule a single massage ?

Usually get waxing services done here and they are A++ in comfort, cleanliness, etc. Highly recommend.

An Aveda salon in name only. I've been to several Aveda salons in my life, and this one is an embarrassment to the Aveda brand, which is supposed to be high end quality. The manager is only there part-time, and it shows. Even on a good day the front desk staff gives you attitude and acts like they hate you. The service is sub-par, and the staff are unhappy because they are asked to do too much and not paid enough. I kept going because I liked my stylist, but when I needed a cut and she wasn't there that day I got treated like garbage. They say they work on the "team" concept so you're free to use any stylist, but they really don't. If you use a different stylist they don't care because you're not their customer. I eventually stopped going because it's too much to pay for what you get. I decided it wasn't worth the aggravation. There are plenty of salons out there that will give you a good haircut AND make you enjoy the experience. This one doesn't.

Jess is wonderful! She explained why she didn't want to color my daughter's hair the way my daughter wanted. She took her time with us to discuss better options . My daughter is very happy! Love ANB!

Overpriced for what you get. My pedicure still left obvious dry skin on my heels and the waxing was standard. I did find a few brow hairs I needed to pluck when I got home. I tried them out to see if I would be happy to use them for myself for my son's wedding and I will be looking elsewhere.

Love this but Salon! Have been seeing Shauna for highlights and cut for 2 years. I bring my daughter too! Salon is clean and everyone is professional! I love their Beauty On Demand service where you can get mini facials or chair massage while your hair processes. It's a great place!

From the moment you enter the doors and are greeted by the staff the "spa" effect takes you. A glass of their amazing tea starts the experience. This tea is worth the money !!! But I've truly never had a bad service at Aveda, A New Beginning. Jess is fantastic. She does amazing cuts on my hair and takes such care of me while shampooing and conditioning it. I love Beth who gives the most AMAZING facials. Emily and Heidi have taken such great care of me on visits. I used to make this a bi weekly stopping place before Covid 19. Since than they've bent over backwards to follow all protocols in keeping their clients comfortable and safe. Although my favorite estatician isn't working yet due to restrictions, Jess is there to take care of my hair!!!
It's truly a wonderful experience, no matter what service you book.

I have been coming to this salon for decades and travel from a major city to see my stylist Belen who is brilliant and I trust her completely. Her cut and color are of high quality because of her my hair looked fantastic for over 5 months during the lock down! She is especially fabulous and very knowledgeable about thick and ethnic hair for both color and cut.
I recently had my hair done after an extended hiatus due to Covid. It felt amazing but more importantly I felt very safe here. I am extremely picky as I work in healthcare. They are stringent and meticulous about precautions. Everyone here is wonderful and will work with you to make you feel at ease. Treat yourself and do good by supporting a local business. You won't regret it and yes, Se habla espanol!

Beware of Phony reviews, the staff is very friendly and professional. I don't know the motives of the other negative reviews but based on my experience they are false.

I cannot say my experience with the service because I didn't even get past my initial phonecall. I was visiting from out of town and wanted a quick trim, nothing major. I called to get an estimate on how much a woman's general trim would be. For what I envisioned to be a quick call, ended up with an breakdown and explanation of the service/skill levels of their stylists. Too much information. No thanks....

A New Beginning salon is a pleasant place to have salon servies. All employees are professional, friendly and eager to assist. I am always pleased when I leave and I have been coming here for about 12 years. They offer a complete menu of great hair and spa services. The salon is clean, inviting and a peaceful place to relax. Carol the owner runs a great business and everyone working there has adopted her caring and professional manners.

I've been getting cuts, color, and blowouts at New Beginnings for nearly ten years, after I switched from a Manhattan Aveda salon. Shauna has done perfect cuts and color and over the past few years she helped me (happily) grow out my grey hair and go natural. All the stylists are great, everybody that works at New Beginnings is friendly and interested in you as a valued customer. Veda salons are special businesses with special training and top-quality products. Aveda hair coloring is especially gentle to your hair.

I always look forward to my color and botanical treatment. When I walk in I am immediately greeted and offered a beverage. I know that my colorist listens to me and I am always happy with my results when I leave. The botanical is the perfect finishing touch. My hair is silky and shiny for weeks, plus I love the braid that I get after the treatment. The waiting room is relaxing and comfortable. I started going to New Beginning Salon and Spa when I moved to the area. I get body waxing services as well as salon (hair highlighted and cut). The location is conventient and easy to get to, the staff is always professional and prompt, and the two girls that I see are both amazing. The spa side is relaxing and the Aveda products in use create a relaxing experience even when getting waxed. The salon has a bit more energy and high quality staff. Highly recommend.
