I just completed a purchase through 21st mortgage. Very satisfied with the service. John MacGuirre was my loan officer. He was very nice. Very professional. Always took my calls promptly. Called me to keep me updated. Sent emails regularly to keep me updated. My experience has been very good.

I have done business with 21st Mortgage for 15 years now providing financing for my customers, they have always been helpful and quickly responsive to emails, however, for the past year we have been assigned Jessica Duncan as our credit manager and she is beyond AMAZING! She not only has a very friendly personality but she goes out of her way to help me and make sure my customers are satisfied! She is always quick to answer any of my questions and is very good at her job, she is the best!

My unfortunate experience with 21st Mortgage Corpo...

My unfortunate experience with 21st Mortgage Corporation reminded me why we suffered through 2008 financial crises. Greedy mortgage companies like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac played a major role in ruining so many lives in those days and this company, in my experience, is no better than them.

I would hope that, especially during these challenging times in our lives, businesses would be more decent and honest than ever and they would not put their potential customers in a financially very difficult situation.

I am 57 years old and moved to a new city for a job. I explored different options to find a place to live and decided that buying an affordable manufactured home in a 55+ age community would be the best option for me.

I found a home for $54,5K and submitted a loan application to 21st Mortgage as recommended by the selling realtor and I indicated that I would put $12K for down-payment (22%). They were very fast approving my application which was nice, but then, I was so disappointed and shocked when I saw the figures on their approval notice.

My credit score was 813 and I ve worked so hard to maintain that near perfect credit score. The home was in an excellent condition but it was built in 1978 so I was expecting that their interest rate would be a little higher but still on the low side because a credit score is not just a number.

Their approval notice included 9.15% fixed interest rate, 9.744% APR, and 4.75% origination costs with a monthly payment of $525 (including small amount of taxes and insurance payments) for 23 years, which would make it more than three times of my original $42,5K loan amount at the end (nearly $145K Total).

Loan: $42,5K = Payback: $145K (including small taxes and insurance). How can you justify that for someone with an exceptional credit history?

My hope was, with a reasonable interest rate, I would be able the pay it back in less than 5 years but they made it impossible.

I declined their approved offer but trusting them in running my credit check cost me 4 points drop on my credit score and I regret it.

I understand and respect that they are in the business of making money but it should never be so much more than what they deserve. Otherwise, we all end up living through another 2008 financial meltdown.

Jessica has been the most understanding person I have talked to on the behalf of 21st Mortgage. She never once gave me an attitude or disrespect me as a client. I, including my parents have experienced rudeness and unmannerly comments from some of the employees that work here, they don t want to understand nor hear how hard it is to make ends meet specially now with Covid-19. They will make you feel less then a person, not Jessica. I will recommend Jessica every time. She will take care of you and work with you regardless of the situation. She definitely needs a promotion or raise! Bless her heart! Thank you Jessica!

The most rude & disrespectful company I have EVER talked to or dealt with. We are 1 payment behind & offered to make that payment on September 3 & the current 1 on September 9th. They said that was "unacceptable" and they would lock the account so it would not accept 2 separate payments... REALLY ?

This company is the most unprofessional company. Very rude and disrespectful. Customer service is thrown out the window. The CEO Tim Williams and and CFO Rich Ray should be ashamed of there company for their poor and disgusting customer service. These individuals Cory Fox, Molly Vermillion and Marc Schaefer are disgusting to work with. I DO NOT recommend doing ANY type of business with this company nor any other company s that they are associated with.

Don t get a loan from this company, they have fake policies that they cant give you in writing. I ask a customer service rep to send me a copy of policy. He said its a internal policy. I never dealt with a company this bad. I never had a company that can t give you a copy of their policy.

Thanks for the reply. I don't need to talk your badly trained reps anymore. Im just requesting a copy of your company policy. I don t think thats to much to ask for. I ll even remove this comment once I get a copy of the policy.

Representative Peyton and Cullen have been phenomenal in assisting me with any concerns or problems I bring up. Most companies see you as just a policy number. 21st sees you as a person and working in retail, there's nothing a customer wants more than to be looked at as a person.

That isn't even my biggest problem just an observation. I would never recommend them to any of my friends and family period. Horrible. I cant wait til they go out of business

Due to my husband being out of work I was able to call the company and pay what I could and they paid the portion that I could not pay myself. Adam Kirby was very nice and professional while going through the questions and I was able to get a response within hours. They are working case by case. They also are doing it month by month. All in all the entire experience was very pleasant and professional. I m glad we are with this company.

Back in 1997, my mother in law and her daughter decided to purchase a mobile home from 21st Century Mortgage Corporation. The original price for the mobile home including a 3% sale tax was $51,397.00. They charged a finance charge of $126,376.60 on top of an annual percentage rate of 11.50% on the dollar. The total of the mobile home counting the obnoxious finance charge of $126,376.60 totaled out to be $175,647.60. There is no justification that can be offered to why such a corporation would take advantage of two women wanting to buy a new mobile home at the time. It is now the year 2020 and they are very elderly. My mother in law suffers from multiple health issues and currently unable to work. My father in law recently had a stroke which now restricts certain movements from happening. The only income they have coming in is my father s in law social security check, in which he receives monthly. They have two disabled children who are unable to work that they try to support with my father s in law social security check. If this Corporation would take advantage of these people for all of these years then imagine what they will continue to do in the near future. I would not suggest for anyone to do business with the Corporation and for current homeowners to take a closer look at their paperwork. The mobile home, minus the crazy finance charge, would have been paid off in the year 2005. From 2005 to present day, they have OVERPAID roughly $100,000.00. You all have been WARNED!!

21 st Mortgage Company is AMAZING! They approved me for my home loan when no one else would! It was a seamless process! They sent someone to me to sign the closing papers! When I lost my job, and fell behind on my payments, my loan account manager Justin Ledford and his supervisor Cody were very understanding, and sympathetic with my situation! They worked with me on my payments to get me caught up! They never once made me feel like less of a person, or stressed me outduring an already stressful time in my life! I would recommend 21 st Mortgage Company to anyone looking for a place to call home!

Douglas Mack is my account manager and he has helped me keep my account current through a financial crisis caused by my medical problems. Everytime I call 21st mortgage, the customer service reps are always polite and nice with helping me with my issues. I called them twice in one week with helping me with a payoff for my house, and evertime the customer rep assisted me in a polite and professional manner. Insurance department is a joke, rest of the organization has been great to deal with, just bought a home, kept getting letters from the insurance company that was set up through the company that I purchased the home from saying the amount was due. I contacted the insurance department of 21st and was told there was a problem with the funds being transferred to the insurance company and that they were working on it and would let me. Never got a call back, I called them back and same answer, called again and was told I needed to get back with the agent and have the policy rewritten due to the funds issue. I got with the insurance company to get this done, after re-written the policy was increased an additional 400.00 bucks due to 21st not doing there job. the answer from Steven Epps in the insurance department was the additional amount would come out of my escrow account due to there negligence, Steven Epps then replied such is life, now that's professionalism. I would like to recognize the exceptional service provided to me today by Ms. Lucy DeLaCruz. I have had a previous bad experience with an individual who was the counselor on my account and I was not looking forward to calling today. Lucy's polite and caring demeanor was so much appreciated during this difficult time. She was able to provide emotional support through her empathy. She "showed" true concern for my situation by the tone of her voice and her choice of words. She offered me solutions and not roadblocks. I am blessed and grateful that she is now in charge of my account !!!!

Run.....all I can say no one in the office communicates and I will be honest some if the people are nice but others are more dumb than a box of rocks. We have been fighting to get our Lian finalized since October. They had to get papers from the IRS and for a month and half kept telling me they never had it then all of a sudden I get papers to sign and the date on the IRS papers were within the week of them faxing in for them. The loan officer I have been dealing with is rude and seems just lazy she never answers her phone and I'm always stuck talking to someone else. All I want are my god forsaking keys before we are forced out of our apartment because of lease ending...All and all if you can AVOID IT DO SO!!!!!!!!

I worked with Grant Kloss and boy what a joke. I had to repeat myself over and over because he never writes anything down which means he is not listening as well. Very incompetent people when you speak to 3 people and they all give different statements which mean that they are not on the same page or they just don't know what they are doing. It is my belief that giving the lack of professionalism, this incompetent corporation need's to get on the same page and do the right thing!!!. Working with them is like going to a preschool asking for help!!!

Leah Wade is extremely rude. I tried to reach out to her and Lisa Williams for four days (email, calls, voicemails- no return) and when I asked why our down payment jumped from 7 to 25 percent (10 grand to 33 grand) she got an attitude and said I should just refer to my email and why was asking questions when I already read the email. She is unhelpful, no one is ever "at their desk", and I really wanted to use these guys but I can't deal with a company that can't hold a phone conversation for 30 years. I told he scratch the whole thing.

I can't believe we can pay online and by phone without a service charge. My last bank charged me $10 a transaction to process payments like this! Also, Madison Brown has been extremely helpful explaining the terms of our loan and how payments are applied to what portion of our account. Overall really great customer service so far.

A few weeks ago i was asked to take my one star down..but i actually now realize that they deserve it because even though yall approved our loan and everything we still didnt hear from yall and Timberline homes in Anniston took our money during the pandemic. Its not fair at all to have our hopes up.and we was dealing with alot at the time. I just think we deserved better service and better conversation ..

Now i can say that I do not know how 21 Mortgage corporation find so good nice and profession workers like Courtney Reiter.
Honestly, I did not expect my request will be done so fast and in proper way.
Courtney explained everything in details, answer all my million questions.
I ask her that I need email from her(Customer Services) as soon as possible and in 10-15 min. I got all info I need.
Thank you Courtney very much from me and my wife.

Unfortunately it was only after we were financed and everything was said and done that we decided to do some research on this company after we were verbally abused by a few of the staff. These people are absolutely the most disrespectful people I have ever dealt with. I thought maybe it was just me but after seeing all the reviews on this company I clearly am not the only ones that have been verbally abused, harassed and disrespected by this company. Just today I spoke with Parker who "over talked" me and wouldn't let me get a word in about the check I sent into them. I absolutely dread when I see their phone number come up on my phone when I am a few days late. Around the time the stimulus checks were about to be distributed I was out of work and had no money to catch up on my other bills so I thought maybe they would be gracious enough to postpone my payment. Boy was I wrong, I was told I have to use my stimulus check for my mortgage payment. The very first phone call I had when I was late I didn't know about all their complaints so when I spoke with my account holder (forgot her name) she asked me to go over all my expenses over the phone which I did think was weird because they should have already had this information already. I thought maybe it was just routine to verify everything on my application which. Then I was asked to go over my grocery bill and miscellaneous expenses and I asked the woman why that was relevant and she said "because I want to see what you are spending your money on that you cant make your payment on the day its due". After that was when I lost all respect for the company and their employees. The only person I have not had problems with is Bailey, she is probably the sweetest person in that company. I wish I could recall all the problems I have had with this company but if I did this review would be astronomically long. The only resolution is for this company to go out of business!

Also after reading over all these reviews it seems as though the company has an answer for everything...

Due to unforeseen circumstances I have struggled with my loan payment. Tyler Stickley and Vicky Dezzutti worked with me to get me back on track with my loan. I was treated with so much respect and not once was I made to feel inadequate because I had fallen behind. They are the true definition of what customer service should be. Give them both a promotion or at least a raise. Thanks Tyler and Vicky for your kindness, respect, and understanding! I hope you forever remain my loan managers!

Anyone who is seriously thinking of buying a house or any kind of home. Go elsewhere. I see a lot of 5 stars. You should not rate companies from the beginning. First see exactly who they are. First, I put 20k down on my house and yes I got behind. I reached out to the company at the time and I was talked to like some dirt beneath their feet. Then after that I was just trying to send payments and avoid them because if you are a business. Why would you call customers to argue. So I finally talked to someone that said if something comes up please just talk to us and let us know. Once again I tried that and these people is just so nasty you can't talk to them. What makes it worst I was sending one amount for my payment but guess what my payment went up and instead of them actually telling me this or sending something in the mail. They rather just get nasty and with you. What I am trying to figure out is if you see that someone put 20k into a house and when they are behind they are still trying to pay something you are still being nasty. Like I said in the beginning you all need to think twice before doing business with 21st Mortgage because they are strictly for themselves. They maybe nice at the end but don't get in a bind. They don't care. I have seen plenty of companies come through and is the same exact way. I wonder how long did they last? Eventually it will fall if these people doesn't change their ways.

Worked here for 12 years and have met some great people as a result, and been fortunate enough to watch many of them develop lasting careers. It is a fast paced and challenging job, but I have seen the company originate and service hundreds of thousand's of loans in my time, and do it well. It is a great team to work with.

My husband and I recently have had financial difficulties resulting in missed payments on my mortgage loan. Adam Kirby at 21st mortgage has been courteous, kind and helpful. He has extended all of his resources to help my husband and I, while honestly relating to us the reality of our situation. I truly wish I could experience more customer service like that of Adam Kirby, where I don't feel frustrated, sad and judged by the time I get off the phone.
