Food was good, but the service had a lot to be desired. They forgot part of my order and it was a cup of coffee. Music was also too loud. Would go again, but for takeout only unless that is all fixed.

Great lunch option in Downtown Trenton. They have a combination box for lunch. The homemade chicken salad on toasted chabatta bread was extremely fresh and delicious. One of the best chicken salads ever. The peppers inside the chicken salad is key. Also had the Caesar salad. Not the best but a great pair together. They also put it in a small white box with a bag of chips. Choose this place for lunch over anywhere else when visiting downtown. Great cold brew as well!

Cafe 128 has quickly become a favorite. A small, basement level establishment located steps from the State House, they brew excellent coffee and tea, and have a wide variety of Boylan's Soda and other bottled drinks.

What really shines about this place is the food. It's awesome. Breakfast or lunch, you can get something really, really good for a decent price. The options are somewhat familiar - mostly soups, salads, and sandwiches - but in the best possible way. Though I get why they operate Monday through Friday, I wish they were open on the weekend. It'd give me another reason to come to Trenton!

Someone spat their flem in my drink. I was polite and left a tip. I have no idea why they did this awful and illegal thing. I wish I had thought to save the cup when I saw what was in it, but I was so grossed out I threw it away. The chai tea latte was gross to begin with, but I thought they just made a bad round and didn't say anything to them. Then later as I was walking and sipping the chunky part of the flem got in my mouth. I spat it out and was horrified. If I had saved it I could have gotten them in legal trouble. If this happens to you there, please have the presence of mind I did not on January 9th. Good luck.

Best coffee and peanut butter cookies ever made. Better than Starbuck and Dunkin and store cookies. Food is fresh. Service makes you feel like family. Music selection is great. Loveove love

Newly opened renovated space. Indoor and outdoor seating avail. Located in lower level of the building, crisp decor with a black and white color scheme. Historic photographic images decorate the walls. Salads, sandwiches with your choice of meats. "Sushi Grade" Tuna salad was my choice, tasty and a good portion for lunch.

Last week, during my first trip to Trenton, I stopped by Cafe 128 to grab some food after having been outside for hours. Joe greeted me enthusiastically when I came in and he noticed I was shaking from the cold. He made me a tea within 30 seconds to warm up.

Classy, down to earth, no frills quaint cafe that brilliantly mixes old and new, good quality with good prices, friendly and efficient services. This is the kind of place Trenton needs all over. Kudos for the good food, the nod to architectural tradition, and the interesting setting. Will come back over and over again!

Their $9 daily pizza is a shareable steal. Plentiful really excellent sauce, good mozzarella and BACON. And they have sushi. Call ahead if you're pressed for time. Park in the NJ State Library parking garage. And the pop-up parklet is going to be back, hopefully in April.

I started going in about once a week when I worked down the street and found they were frequently out of many things, even at the beginning of service. Basic things like soy milk, tea, and tea bags. I started going less frequently, despite wanting to support a local independent business, and yet every time they are still out of staples for a coffee shop.
