James Doyle Review of Omni Mount Washington Resort

The Omni Mount Washington Resort is a hotel solidly in the grand hotel tradition. Its staff is professional and the building and grounds are lovely. I am sure that each room is lovely and has a spectacular view, considering the immediate surroundings. That being said, the hotel has issues as a 1902 creation: weak electrical system, bad wifi, sound easily penetrates walls and ceilings. We stayed during the coronavirus hysteria of 2020, so many amenities were unavailable. What disappointed me the most was the indoor pool area. The wall adjoining the hot tub had a wooden running board with black mold growing on it. It's wood. You can't have wood in an environment like that. Considering that the outdoor pool was closed and this was the only thing "to do," made it even more disappointing. Finally, the hotel enjoys the distinction, or the disgrace, depending on one's political views, of hosting a 1944 meeting which laid the groundwork for the International Monetary Fund (the IMF).
