I have been coming here for 6 years with no problems, often rolling with VIPs who tend to be seated immediately. I decided to take a big client in from out of town here as I've always had these great experiences.

We arrived at the restaurant an hour early for our 8:30 reservation and let the hostess know we would have a drink at the bar and to let us know if anything came up early. We noticed on opentable that there were 7:30 reservations open and there were 5 tables in the bar area visibly open so we were hopeful but ok with waiting an hour. At 8:30 we inquired about the table and they said it would be just a moment and it would be ready soon. At 9 pm I spoke with the manager and let him know I was entertaining an important client and there were several tables open in the bar. He soon took us to a bar table. I should mention that the couple at the bar next to us was also waiting for 30 minutes past their reservation at that point as well.

When we sat, my client, who is a restaurant owner, asked the reason for the delay and said it was just unacceptable. He wasn't rude, just irritated from the wait and obviously hungry since it was past 9pm, and did not berate the manager or use foul language. The managers reply to his question was "don't worry about it, we won't be serving you here" and walked away leaving the menus on the table. We were very confused and a moment later he came back grabbed the menus and said that he was refusing us service and told us to leave the restaurant. Typically, a manager would just apologize and comp a desert or something- but ask people to leave the restaurant? He laughed at us as we left. Very unprofessional.
