5 star paradise resort on the Ari atoll. Its truly a paradise, but after visiting this resort multiple times since 2006 I cannot say it fully lives up to its 5 star as the prices has increased, but not the service and its facilities. The over water villas needs to be refurbished whilst they have invested in an ugly under water villa that has a stupendous price tag. Another annoyance is that all the bars and restaurant follows a good policy of not reserving specific tables, its a policy of equal treatment of all guests and thus you need to arrive early to get your favorite table. Unfortunately we experienced multiple violation of this democratic rule as the staff had reserved (on request from other guests) sofas and chairs by covering the seating with towels to prevent early arrival guest getting their favorite seating. I complained and got an apology, but the practice continued, that's not worthy a 5 star resort.
During previous stays we have been able to give our acknowledge of specific staff members who excelled their service, I believe this is a good way of encourage the staff, now they have dropped this practice, but I would, never the less, like to give Leo, Zaya, Miyabi and particularly Megan such an acknowledge for their excellent service.
Also I would acknowledge the therapists on both spa and I would recommend a visit to the over water spa (pictured) as you can watch the fish below while receiving your treatment.
There are multiple great resorts on many of the 1100 islands in the Maldives, Conrad Rangali needs to demonstrate their 5 star superiority in services and facilities as you currently most likely will have better value for your money choosing some of the other resorts. Sad, but true.
